    Get PDF
The contribution is growing up from certain parts of scientific work by professor Boruvka in several ways. Main focus is on the decomposition theory, especially algebraized decompositions of groups. Professor Boruvka in his excellent and well-known book [3] has developed the decomposition (partition) theory, where the fundamental role belongs to so called generating decompositions. Furthermore, the contribution is also devoted to hypergroups, to algebraic spaces called also quasi-automata or automata without outputs. There is attempt to develop more fresh view point on this topic

Differentiation-dependent glycosylation of cells in squamous cell epithelia detected by a mammalian lectin

The squamous stratified epithelia contain a proliferative (harboring mitotic activity) and a differentiating compartment. Due to the potential of protein-carbohyd rate interactions to regulate cellular activities we introduced a mammalian lectin to cyto- and histochemical analysis. We answer the questions of whether and to what extent this new probe can pinpoint differentiation-dependent glycosylation changes in sections and in culture of keratinocytes. Material and Methods: Purification and labeling enabled monitoring of galectin-3 reactivity in frozen sections of human and pig epidermis and basal cell carcinomas as well as in culture of keratinocytes. The staining pattern of the lectin was correlated with the staining profile of other cell markers including desmosomal proteins, beta(1) integrin, and the proliferation marker Ki-67. The Dolichos biflorus agglutinin (DBA) sharing binding reactivity of galectin-3 to the A type histoblood group epitope was used for comparison. Results: Both lectins exhibit suprabasal binding. However, their profiles were not identical, substantiated by lack of coinhibition. Strong DBA reactivity was also observed in a limited number of basal layer cells, namely in cells without the expression of the proliferation marker Ki-67. Cultured mitotic epidermal cells have no reactivity for DBA. Presence of ligands for this plant lectin was connected with decreased positivity of nuclei for Ki-67 and the occurrence of ring-shaped nucleoli, micronucleoli or absence of nucleoli. Considering colocalization the pattern of galectin-3-binding sites coincided with the presence of desmosomal proteins such as desmoplakin-1 and desmoglein but not beta(1) integrin, a potential ligand. Interestingly, studied basal cell carcinomas expressed no binding sites for galectin-3, while a limited number of cells were DBA-reactive. Conclusion: The expression of galectin-3-binding sites and also DBA-reactive glycoligands correlates with an increased level of differentiation and/or cessation of proliferation in the examined squamous stratified epithelia. Further application of tissue lectins for characterizing ligand expression and its modulation is an important step to reveal functional relevance

První kapitola vyjmenovává a přibližuje okolnosti vylučující protiprávnost. Druhá kapitola se věnuje pojmu nutné obrany, jejímu vývoji a platné právní úpravě. Třetí kapitola podává samotný rozbor nutné obrany se zřetelem na judikaturu a literaturu a zkoumá zákonné podmínky jejího uplatnění. Je rozdělena do tří podkapitol. Podkapitola 3.1 pojednává o útoku, podkapitola 3.2 přibližuje zájmy chráněné trestním zákonem a podkapitola 3.3 se zaobírá obranou zcela zjevně nepřiměřenou. Překročení mezí nutné obrany se věnuje kapitola čtvrtá. Pátá kapitola pojednává o tzv. putativní obraně včetně příslušené judikatury a poslední kapitola je určena automatickým obranným zařízením a preventivnímu útoku obecně.1 Abstract This diploma thesis deals mainly with the issue of necessary defense in Czech law focusing on some of the disputable queries brought by its application and interpretation. The primary fixation of this thesis is on the judiciary decisions, however, the work deals with the theoretical foundations and resources of the necessary defense. The aim of this work is to introduce the matter of necessary defense, to highlight the disputable queries appearing when applied and analyze their solution. This work is divided into six chapters. First chapter names and explains particular excuse defenses. Second chapter deals with the term of necessary defense, its development and valid legislation regarding it. Third chapter brings the analysis of the self-defense itself in consideration of judiciary decisions and expert literature and examines legal conditions of its application. The chapter is furtherly divided into 3 subheads. Subhead 3.1 explains the attack, subhead 3.2 approaches the interests protected by the Penal Code and subhead 3.3 deals with the apparently unreasonable defense. Excesses from the necessary defense are described in fourth chapter. Fifth chapter deals with so called putative defense in the judiciary decisions. The last, sixth chapter focuses on the automatic defense mechanisms and defense...Department of Criminal LawKatedra trestního právaPrávnická fakultaFaculty of La

Series of Semihypergroups of Time-Varying Articial Neurons and Related Hyperstructures

Detailed analysis of the function of multilayer perceptron (MLP) and its neurons together with the use of time-varying neurons allowed the authors to find an analogy with the use of structures of linear differential operators. This procedure allowed the construction of a group and a hypergroup of articial neurons. In this article, focusing on semihyperstructures and using the above described procedure, the authors bring new insights into structures and hyperstructures of articial neurons and their possible symmetric relations

Metallurgical preparation of Nb-Al and W-Al intermetallic compounds and characterization of their microstructure and phase transformations by DTA technique

The possibilities of metallurgical preparation of 40Nb-60Al and 15W-85Al intermetallic compounds (in at.%) by plasma arc melting (PAM) and vacuum induction melting (VIM) were studied. Both methods allow easy preparation of Nb-Al alloys; however, significant evaporation of Al was observed during the melting, which affected the resulting chemical composition. The preparation of W-Al alloys was more problematic because there was no complete re-melting of W during PAM and VIM. However, the combination of PAM and VIM allowed the preparation of W-Al alloy without any non-melted parts. The microstructure of Nb-Al alloys consisted of Nb2Al and NbAl3 intermetallic phases, and W-Al alloys consisted mainly of needle-like WAl4 intermetallic phase and Al matrix. The effects of melting conditions on chemical composition, homogeneity, and microstructure were determined. Differential thermal analysis was used to determine melting and phase transformation temperatures of the prepared alloys.Web of Science258art. no. 200

Changes in late adolescents’ voting intentions during the election campaign: Disentangling the effects of political communication with parents, peers and media

    Get PDF
This article investigates the effects of political discussions with parents, political discussions with peers and exposure to political news during an election campaign on the voting intentions and behaviour of first-time voters. Longitudinal data collected in the Czech Republic are employed in the main analysis (N=223). Results show that young people who frequently discuss politics with their peers are characterized by higher voting intentions and subsequent electoral participation. On the other hand, political discussions with parents and exposure to political news have no such effects. Furthermore, although it does not have an impact on voting intentions, more frequent political discussions with parents predict increased frequency of political discussions with peers. Overall, our results underscore the importance of peers in late adolescents' political socialization

This study describes how the pandemic and its need for digitization catalyzed broadly implemented further education at the University of Witten/Herdecke. The empirical data consist of 117 courses for the training of 320 university members. In addition, 424 students were surveyed on the perception of digital teaching. It became evident that even though technical knowledge was transferred successfully, the didactic implementation left room for improvement. The results of this study stress that a wide range of training opportunities support the use of technology enhanced learning as well as collaboration between faculty experts, IT professionals and educational developers

The relationship between nil-strength temperature, zero strength temperature and solidus temperature of carbon steels

    Get PDF
The nil-strength temperature, zero strength temperature and solidus temperature are significant parameters with respect to the processes of melting, casting and welding steels. With the use of physical tests performed on the universal plastometer Gleeble 3800 and calculations in the IDS software, the nil-strength temperatures, zero strength temperatures and solidus temperatures of nine non-alloy carbon steels have been determined. Apart from that, solidus temperatures were also calculated by the use of four equations expressing a mathematical relation of this temperature to the chemical composition of the investigated steels. The nil-strength and zero strength temperatures and the solidus temperatures decreased with increasing carbon content in the investigated steels. Much higher content of sulfur in free-cutting steel resulted in a decrease of all the temperatures investigated. The zero strength temperatures determined by calculation in the IDS software during solidification were approximately 43-85 degrees C higher than the nil-strength temperatures determined experimentally during heating of the investigated steels. The linear dependence of experimentally measured nil-strength temperature on the calculated zero strength temperature for the investigated steels was determined. Based on regression analyses, there were determined mathematical relations which described with high accuracy a linear dependence of the nil-strength and zero strength temperatures on the solidus temperature of the investigated steels.Web of Science103art. no. 399
