Aim of this study is to analyse the performance of the pharmacist and the wellbeing of the patients on the actual pharmacy layout (in retail pharmacies in Pristina, Kosovo) and recognize the modifications that need to be done in architectural design of pharmacies, in improving the quality of care, communication, decrease of the dispensing errors and providing more private spaces to patients. Retail pharmacies are more complex environment as in the same time besides being health care institution are also a retail business environment, therefore there is a need for a more comprehensive analysis regarding the workflow. The mixed methodology has been used, by employing questionaries’ as quantitative method and empirical study of direct observation and interviews as qualitative means. The layout proposals are not envisioned to be implemented as a retail models, but, as ideas to provoke and encourage discussion. Kosovo retail pharmacies are a fast growing market and as such functioning self-sufficiently, which means that they can easily adapt to the local marketplace circumstances and cultural context. It is important for the retail pharmacies to test out the recommendations and challenge its environment in aim of equally maximize productivity and workflow, by keeping incorrectness to a minimum

The collapse of Yugoslavia resulted in tremendous conflicts across Western Balkans territories. Since the mid 2000s, the EU has become a key security and stability provider in these countries in order to help in the process of reconciliation and prosperity, while also offering annexation to the EU, upon the condition of the fulfillment of basic criteria. Hence, in 2005 the EU\u27s relations with the Western Balkans states and territories transformed from the External Relations to the Enlargement policy segment. As of 2015, Albania, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia are officially recognized as state candidates for membership, whereas Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina are now potential candidates. Specifically, with the Stabilization and Association Agreement with Kosovo, the EU closes the circle of such agreements with all states of the Western Balkans. Considering that the accession of Kosovo to the European Union is finally part of the future enlargement agenda of the EU much has been done on the side of Kosovo towards this direction with the expectation to fulfill all needed criteria. Hence, the aim of this paper is to briefly analyze Kosovo’s path towards joining the EU, with a special focus on the implementation of the SAA, ERA and IPA, and an overall scrutiny upon the differences of SAA’s of the aforementioned states. The paper is mainly written based on secondary sources and data gathered from the Government of Kosovo

Nature in Architecture - Japan Architecture, Lessons for Kosovo

Focus of my research is to be found on several issues concerning architectural opinions and design in Japan, and for better understanding of its development the attention will be set from the old toward the current architectural endeavors. The created urban mess of Kosovo, beside it’s over built and overcrowded area lack s the most valuable quality of a living settlement- its greenery. The suffocation of the living area can be reduced by producing; inventing; reusing more greenery, more gardens with its calming and meditative effect. The research study reveals a solution; hidden on the inclusiveness of nature into the built architecture; the architecture can be opened and integrated into its environment, same as in Japan Architecture where the surrounding garden is regarded as a necessary supplement to the building. Japanese Garden does not exist as an independent entity, building is directly related to its natural surrounding and that is one of the most powerful attributes of the Japanese architecture. Knowing the effect that the surrounding has on the psychology of the inhabitants, the manner of the Japan design by enhancing the inside living environment from the outside would produce more simple and practical solution, which could also be manifested on the culture of behavior. The application of the Qualitative Methodology was considered to be most applicable for the study under research as well as the time length available. The tools for data gathering were observation; photos; documents; informal interviews; methodology of the research includes also a lot of fieldwork (Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Tokyo) as an opportunity to analyze and experience firsthand the nature into the Old and New Japanese Architecture (temples, palaces, shrine, residential and modern buildings) consequently complemented by literature available at the Kyoto Seika University Library, Kyoto University Library and other online resources. The qualitative analyze of the data was done by applying an interpretive approach which is phenomenological in nature and seeks to present data more in a holistic manner. During my investigation I have encountered many situations which as fragmented were very similar to Kosovo, but when considered as a whole it would change the perspective. The design features and Japan built assets can generate a whole new theory from which Kosovo can benefit. The design features which were present in most of the cities that I have visited were dealing with patchwork against network; fluid rather than fixed; transformation and alteration; co-existence of different parts; features upon which the same theory could be erected in Kosovo

Background: Esophageal malignancy and severe benign esophageal disorders are now treated by esophagectomy. Although mortality rates after esophagectomy have progressively decreased, many patients continue to suffer from increasing problems despite advances in patient selection, surgical techniques, and postoperative care. The purpose of this research is to determine the perioperative variables that affect morbidity and mortality after esophagectomy. Methods: A thorough search of Google Scholar, UpToDate, and the Lindell Library was conducted to find previously published papers describing the different outcomes related to esophagectomy. This research consulted a total of 30 reviews and two publications. The esophagus’s architecture, perioperative evaluations, surgical methods, and anastomoses that reduce morbidity and mortality after esophagectomy were all investigated. Discussion: Patient selection was risk stratified using ERAS criteria and the Charlson score. A recent study has shown that minimally invasive access is linked with better results than more intrusive approaches. According to further research, hospital duration of stay and surgery volume are related in an inverse manner. In the postoperative period, the ERAS protocol had a significant impact on postoperative care. Conclusion: In recent decades, surgical and medical advances have improved the post-esophageal resection results, although overall morbidity and death rates remain high. Perioperative factors that influence postoperative outcomes have been discovered and are the subject of this review. Centralization of preoperative and postoperative care, less invasive esophagectomy techniques, and surgical care in high-volume facilities should enhance post-esophagectomy outcomes

Musical folklore is part of our daily life, it is in our past – tradition and also it will be part of our future. Albanian folk music has its place in history and has evolved together with it. Our ancestors were chanted to the beauty, successes, joy, but also to sufferings, war, etc. accompanying it to our days. The importance of preserving the music is same as preserving the identity of a nation; songs are layered in generations and are deep in us. Folk music has an extraordinary force and ability to penetrate deep in our emotions because it’s part of identity. Hence, care about folk music should be very special. It represents a jewelry which should be naively preserved not only individually but also institutionally. Musical folklore should be cultivated not only in various parties, in few manifestations or folk festivals, but also in educational institutions starting with preschoolers to high educational levels, because in this way we will attain to create a real sight for our folk music and to create proper conditions for it to exist further. However, is this happening to an appropriate degree, or not? This is a question that I have handled by doing an analysis of all musical textbooks. Also giving a reflection on what is happening with musical folklore, folk music, how it is treated in our schools, should it be given more space, should we invest more, as well as many other questions that remain to be discussed. This insight may be an initiative for other discussions and writings that will treat problems that have to do with musical folklore. Unfortunately, much remains to be done in this field from institutions, which are responsible for preserving cultural values, also from every individual, every student which can give their contribution in this field. Keywords: Albanian Folklore, Folk Music, Pop-Folk Music, Rhythmical Instruments, Folk Instruments, etc.

The purpose of the paper aims at informing the present situation of the music and art in Kosovo by highlighting relevant cultural related institutions which include music within and as a part of art. Initially, an explanation was provided in regard to what this paper consists of in its core, as well as through the chapters mentioned above. It provides the real situation of the art of music in Kosovo, as well as it provides explanation in regard to the institutions that deal with the management and administration of the art of Music. However, the nature of the art of music could be administered having in mind the fact that it is something that exists objectively, it lies in everyone’s feelings and it is ancient same as the human history. The art of music upholds the soul, feelings as well as the mind of every living entity. Based on this fact, it cannot become an object for management and administration because one has to perform it from within, and as a mean of the expression, it has the tone that is to be enjoyed through the perception of our fortitude. Mentioning the importance of the institutions in this case it is not as important when it comes to how to make this art controllable and discussible from something or someone, but through the strategies, projects and engagement of certain people within the institutions, who would give a push forward so that the music becomes more beneficial to us as individuals and society. Also, of a great importance is the connection and cooperation among many other necessary segments in this process. Suggestions and cooperation such should become more apparent and stronger due to the joint interest and purpose. Music as an art, should have its pace assisted through strategies and institutional policies, and conditions should be created as well as standards to give music its deserved status in the society. Music should be present in every step of the way of everyone’s lives and its existence should be appropriately treated, and as such it would have great impact in the education, social and artistic, human and civilization aspect
