    One of the potential micro businesses in Indonesia is the tempe industry. Many people in this country consume tempeh as a famous meal replacement. Therefore, tempe production plays an important role in meeting the demand for tempe in the Indonesian domestic market. Due to a lack of resources, tempe production is carried out on a small scale. This promising business deserves to be expanded. A feasibility study is a thorough evaluation of a business plan or businesses that are currently operating. The purpose of this study is to define business conditions and determine whether a company is feasible or not to be considered in the various aspects studied. Homemade tempeh production business located on Jl. Helvetia market 4 is the research location. The research method is a qualitative descriptive approach. The method used in data collection includes direct observation at the tempe production site, which is located on Jl. Helvetia pasar 4, and direct interviews with tempe business owners. In addition, documentation from observations and interviews was collected in written and video form

    Finite element performance with different mesh size of retaining walls

    Finite element analysis is one of the efficient technique to support modern engineering practice. In the finite element analysis, mesh size assumes a significant role as it can determine the quality of the finite element analysis results. This paper investigates the influence of mesh size on finite element performances of concrete cantilever retaining walls. The finite element analysis of the concrete cantilever retaining walls was made using GeoStudio software consisting of SIGMA/W and SLOPE/W. Three mesh sizes are used to compare the accuracy of the model analysis, which is fine, medium and coarse size. The results of finite element analysis were compared with the results of field monitoring in order to validate the model. The finite element analysis results show the influence of the mesh size did not make a significant difference. It was discovered that the finite element models with fine mesh gave more close results when contrasted with field monitoring results. The results of finite element analysis and field monitoring were in good agreement

    Thermodynamic and enviromental analisys of a refrigerator cycle performance and propose of a global function evaluation

    Orientador: Jose Vicente Hallak d'AngeloDissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Faculdade de Engenharia QuimicaResumo: Este trabalho apresenta a proposta de uma função para avaliação do desempenho de ciclos de refrigeração, do ponto de vista termodinâmico e ambiental, através da análise estatística dos resultados da simulação computacional de um ciclo de refrigeração por compressão a vapor. A função proposta representa um índice global de avaliação da eficiência termodinâmica e dos critérios ambientais e foi desenvolvida com o intuito de facilitar a combinação de critérios utilizados na avaliação de ciclos termodinâmicos e envolve a análise exergética do ciclo, valores do COP (coefficient of performance), do ODP (ozone depletion potencial) e do GWP (Global Warming Potential). Para a simulação computacional foi utilizado o software Hysys versão 3.2 da Aspen Technology. As simulações permitiram testar diferentes combinações de misturas de refrigerantes. As equações de estado de Peng-Robinson e Peng-Robison Stryjek-Vera (PRSV) foram comparados entretanto a equação de estado Peng-Robinson foi utilizada neste trabalho para estimar as propriedades termodinâmicas. Foram consideradas neste trabalho duas eficiências do compressor, 55% e 75%. Nas simulações foram avaliados diversos refrigerantes puros (R134a, R290, R152a e R600a) e misturas binárias dos mesmos em três proporções mássicas: 75%, 50% e 25%. O desempenho do ciclo termodinâmico foi avaliado com uma variação de 10% e 20% das pressões da região de alta pressão e de baixa pressão e através dessa avaliação foi possível sugerir nova faixa de atuação das pressões visando uma otimização do ciclo. Através do índice da função de desempenho foi possível determinar que o R600a e suas misturas são os refrigerantes mais adequados para o ciclo propostoAbstract: This work presents a proposal function to vapor compression refrigerator cycle performance from environmental and thermodynamic point of view. The function was developed through the statistic analysis of a refrigerator cycle computational results. The proposal function represents an evaluation indice of efficiency and environment criterions and was developed to make the analysis of combining criterions evaluations easier in thermodynamics cycles. It includes an exergetic analysis, COP (Coefficient of Performance), ODP (Ozone Depletion Potencial) and GWP (Global Warming Potential). Software Hysys version 3.2 from Aspen Technology was used for computational simulation development. The simulations allowed testing several combinations of refrigerants. The thermodynamic packages Peng-Robison and Peng-Robison Stryjek and Vera was compared however Peng-Robinson equation of state, was used to estimate thermodynamic properties of proposed cycle in this work. Two different efficiencies for the compressor were considered, 55% and 75%. The mixtures of refrigerants tested were pair's combinations of: R134a, R290, R152a and R600a. The variation of these mixtures was in the following proportions: 75, 50 e 25% and it was compared with the own refrigerant. In order to evaluate the performance of refrigerant mixtures, the pressure of high pressure region and low pressure region suffered a change of 10%. With this analysis was possible to suggest a new pressure range for cycle optimization.     Pengembangan LKPD Berbasis Problem Based Learning Pada Pelajaran Biologi Materi Sistem Pernapasan di SMA/MA

    Tujuannya untuk pengembangan LKPD berbasis Problem Based Learning materi sistem pernapasan yang layak, efektif, serta praktis guna membantu peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Research and Development (R&D) dengan pendekatan ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Instrumen penelitian menggunakan lembar wawancara, angket, lembar validasi dan tes. Teknik analisis data dilakukan secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Analisis data kuantitatif bertujuan untuk melihat tingkat kelayakan, kepraktisan dan keefektifan. Sementara itu, analisis kualitatif untuk mengetahui komentar, kritik, saran dan hasil observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa LKPD berbasis Problem Based Learning yang telah dikembangkan valid & layak diterapkan dengan persentase 82% (Ahli media). 100% (Ahli materi) dan 100% (Ahli bahasa), selain itu LKPD dinyatakan praktis dilihat dari tercapainya lembar respon guru dengan rat-rata 90,91% dan lembar respon siswa dengan rata-rata 93%. LKPD juga dinyatakan efektif dilihat dari ketercapaian ketuntasan hasil N-Gain score sebesar 0,76 dengan kategori tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil diatas ditarik kesimpulan bahwa LKPD berbasis Problem Based Learning yang telah dikembangkan dinyatakan layak, praktis dan efektif digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran. LKPD yang dikembangkan dapat meningkatkan aktivitas belajar peserta didik dan guru dapat menggunakan LKPD sebagai bahan ajar dalam proses pembelajaran

    Russo-Ukraine War and Gendered Approaches to Strategic Competition

    The 2022 invasion of Ukraine by Russia represents a logical step in the Russian war against women, minorities, and “Western values.”  The discussion aims to better understand the complexity and fragility of the contemporary security environment by presenting an effective frame for correctly analyzing women’s influence and experience as both agents and subjects of change. The panelists explore the conflict through the weaponization of gender in the global information war against the U.S., NATO, and Ukraine. Furthermore, they highlight the correlation between the weaponization of gendered narratives and its relationship to fostering societal resilience and networks of resistance. The discussion introduces the conceptual framework of information warfare, narrative warfare, and civilizational confrontation, and its linkages with resilience and resilient societies. It provides an analysis of the deeper meaning of WPS in the macro context of the assault on democracy, human rights, and rule of law – to include the role of women in building resilient societies. Information and cognition have impacted the war-fighting experience in the current conflict and its marked role in gendered narratives, which have been utilized by both the Russians and Ukrainians. Lessons learned and policy recommendations for developing a more effective and robust WPS agenda for U.S. (and allied and partner) foreign policy and information operations, especially in advancing new notions of integrated deterrence, while expanding the development of resilience are brought to the fore.
