Race Ethnicity & Youth Perception Of School Safety

This study investigates how race/ethnicity, sex, and age influence students\u27 perceptions of school safety. Students\u27 perception of being safe and their concerns about violence while attending school are paramount to academic and social development. In a national survey teens were queried regarding various subject matters. The type of school attended was important within the survey being private, public, and parochial. The findings of this investigation purport that blacks are more likely than whites to be concerned about school violence and safety. Schools with an inability to provide a safe learning environment for students may experience adverse outcomes regarding students\u27 academic success. The results of this research could be used to implement plans that reduce violence in school by public policies aimed at increasing racial and economic diversity within neighborhoods and schools

Designing an Artifact to Empower Chronic Patients for Monitoring Health During a Pandemic: A COVID-19 Screening App

Chronic diseases have been declared an invisible epidemic by the World Health Organization (WHO, 2005). Over the past fifty years, the prevalence of chronic conditions has increased, leading to the disease burden caused by cancer, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and mental and substance use disorders (DOH, 2021). Chronic patients need to reimagine how they will empower themselves to effectively manage and monitor their health and wellbeing in a COVID-19 era when frequent in-person health care visits will no longer be feasible. In this study, we propose the dimensions for the design of a mobile-based application that will aid chronic patients and end-users in self-managing and monitoring their health during the pandemic era. Based on an empirical investigation involving pharmacists and researchers, we designed and developed a prototype capable of empowering chronic patients. This study particularly focuses on how technological interventions can help chronic patients self-manage and monitor their health and well-being related to COVID-19 where the user expectations are met with less attrition rates

De como iluminar no projeto Palco Giratório: um relato errante sobre a aprendizagem em iluminação cênica

Neste trabalho busco refletir sobre o processo de aprendizagem em Teatro, em geral, e sobre o aprendizado em iluminação cênica, em especial, a partir da experiência de uma turnê nacional no projeto Palco Giratório, ocasião na qual pude vivenciar as contradições, conflitos e dificuldades em iluminar um espetáculo teatral em 43 cidades distintas pelas cinco regiões do país. Constatando, na prática, que o objetivo diário de um agente da cena, que se aventura nos palcos brasileiros, é a capacidade genuína de aprender a aprender

The generation of nonlinear internal waves

Their widespread distribution is a result of their origin in the barotropic tide and in the variety of ways they can be generated, including by lee waves, tidal beams, resonance, plumes, and the transformation of the internal tide. The differing generation mechanisms and diversity of generation locations and conditions all combine to produce waves that range in scale from a few tens of meters to kilometers, but with all properly described by solitary wave theory. The Trade Relations between India and China

The aim of this research is to evaluate the issues and problems of transportation faced by China and India through air and road, and to have a deeper understanding about the problems faced by ports in China and India, concerning the activities of trade. This research dissertation will focus on analysing and studying the challenges and issues faced by both the Nations in trading with each other. The specific challenges which will be investigated in this dissertation are the transportation of products and the issues of supply chain and interaction. The main aim of the research is focused to evaluate the key issues and challenges related to the transportation infrastructure in India and China through road and air. Thus it will be helpful to have a detailed understanding of how the activities of trade are being conducted between the two nations. Different aspects will be covered that will include the collection of secondary data for presenting the literature review and for the purpose of further analysis. Based on this secondary data collected and analysed, key points of conclusion will be drafted
