Incidence, duration, and determinants of cervical Human Papillomavirus infection in a cohort of Colombian women with normal Cytological results
Q1Q1Data on the incidence and determinants of human papillomavirus (HPV) infection in women 130 years old are
scarce. To address this, a cohort of 1610 women—15–85 years old, HPV negative, and with normal cytological
results at baseline—was monitored every 6 months for an average of 4.1 years. Information on risk factors and
cervical samples for cytological testing and detection and typing of HPV DNA were obtained at each visit. The
incidence of high-risk types was higher than that of low-risk types (5.0 vs. 2.0 cases/100 woman-years). The agespecific incidence curve for high-risk types was bimodal, whereas the incidence of low-risk types gradually
decreased with age. Infections with high-risk types lasted longer than infections with low-risk types (14.8 vs. 11.1
months). In this cohort of cytologically normal women, the incidence of cervical HPV infection was high, and

A model to assess customer alignment through customer experience concepts
Business and Information Technology Alignment (BITA) has been one of the main
concerns of IT and Business executives and directors due to its importance to
overall company performance, especially today in the age of digital
transformation. For BITA has been developed several models which in general has
focused in the implementation of alignment strategies for the internal
operation of the organizations and in the measurement of this internal
alignment, but, there is still a big gap in measurement models of the alignment
with the external environment of the organizations. In this paper is presented
the design and application of a maturity measurement model for BITA with the
customers, where the customers are actors of the external environment of the
companies. The proposed model involves evaluation criteria and business
practices which the companies ideally do for improve the relationship with

A survey on managing users' preferences in ambient intelligence
Understanding the importance of preference management in ambient intelligent environments is key to providing systems that are better prepared to meet users' expectations. This survey provides an account of the various ways that preferences have been handled in Artificial Intelligence. Our analysis indicates that most of those techniques lack the ability to handle ambiguity and the evolution of preferences over time. Further exploration shows that argumentation can provide a feasible solution to complement existing work. We illustrate our claim by using an intelligent environment case study
Peritoneal repairing cells: a type of bone marrow derived progenitor cells involved in mesothelial regeneration
The peritoneal mesothelium exhibits a high regenerative ability. Peritoneal regeneration is concomitant with the appearance, in the coelomic cavity, of a free-floating population of cells whose origin and functions are still under discussion. We have isolated and characterized this cell population and we have studied the process of mesothelial regeneration through flow cytometry and confocal microscopy in a murine model lethally irradiated and reconstituted with GFP-expressing bone marrow cells. In unoperated control mice, most free cells positive for mesothelin, a mesothelial marker, are green fluorescent protein (GFP). However, 24 hrs after peritoneal damage, free mesothelin+/ GFP+ cells appear in peritoneal lavages. Cultured lavage peritoneal cells show colocalization of GFP with mesothelial (mesothelin, cytokeratin) and fibroblastic markers. Immunohistochemical staining of the peritoneal wall also revealed colocalization of GFP with mesothelial markers and with procollagen-1 and smooth muscle α-actin. This was observed in the injured area as well as in the surrounding not-injured peritoneal surfaces. These cells, which we herein call peritoneal repairing cells (PRC), are very abundant 1 week after surgery covering both the damaged peritoneal wall and the surrounding uninjured area. However, they become very scarce 1 month later, when the mesothelium has completely healed. We suggest that PRC constitute a type of monocyte-derived cells, closely related with the tissue-repairing cells known as ‘fibrocytes’ and specifically involved in peritoneal reparation. An Electromagnetic Study of the Impact of Brain Anatomy on Deep Brain Stimulation
An electromagnetic simulation was performed to assess the volume of tissue activated on deep brain stimulation for two patients randomly selected. The finite element method is used to calculate the electric field distribution that predicts the volume of tissue activated. High-resolution magnetic resonance images are utilized to create patient-specific anatomical models of the subthalamic nucleus and the internal pallidum. The results confirmed the influence of brain anatomy leading to different shape and volume of tissue activated despite similar technical features. Thus, a patient-specific model and an adequate choice of stimulation parameters are crucial on deep brain stimulation outcomes.S
Midbrain and pons MRI shape analysis and its clinical and CSF correlates in degenerative parkinsonisms: a pilot study

Methodology: We collected demographic and clinical variables, performed planimetric and shape MRI analyses, and determined CSF neurofilament-light chain (NfL) levels in 84 participants: 11 CS, 12 with Parkinson's disease (PD), 26 with multiple system atrophy (MSA), 21 with progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), and 14 with corticobasal degeneration (CBD).
Results: MSA featured the most extensive and significant brainstem shape narrowing (that is, atrophy), mostly in the pons. CBD presented local atrophy in several small areas in the pons and midbrain compared to PD and CS. PSP presented local atrophy in small areas in the posterior and upper midbrain as well as the rostral pons compared to MSA. Our findings of planimetric MRI measurements and CSF NfL levels replicated those from previous literature. Brainstem shape atrophy correlated with worse motor state in all parkinsonisms and with higher NfL levels in MSA, PSP, and PD.
Conclusion: Atypical parkinsonisms present different brainstem shape patterns which correlate with clinical severity and neuronal degeneration. In MSA, shape analysis could be further explored as a potential diagnostic biomarker. By contrast, shape analysis appears to have a rather limited discriminant value in PSP
Individual differences in second language speech learning in classroom settings: roles of awareness in the longitudinal development of Japanese learners’ English /ɹ/ pronunciation
The current study longitudinally examined a crucial individual difference variable—i.e., awareness (operationalized as explicit attention and articulatory knowledge)—in adult second language (L2) speech learning in the context of 40 Japanese learners’ English /ɹ/ pronunciation development in an EFL classroom. The participants’ speech, elicited from word reading, sentence reading and timed picture description tasks at the beginning and end of one academic semester, were analyzed in terms of three acoustic dimensions of English /ɹ/—third formant (F3), second formant (F2) and duration. Whereas the participants showed gains in the relatively easy aspect of the English /ɹ/ acquisition (F2 reduction) as a function of increased L2 input, their explicit awareness of accurate English /ɹ/ pronunciation played a significant role in the acquisition of the relatively difficult dimension (lengthening phonemic duration). The awareness-acquisition link was not found, however, for the most difficult dimension (F3 reduction) at least within the timeframe of the project

Optothermal generation, trapping, and manipulation of microbubbles.
The most common approach to optically generate and manipulate bubbles in liquids involves temperature gradients induced by CW lasers. In this work, we present a method to accomplish both the generation of microbubbles and their 3D manipulation in ethanol through optothermal forces. These forces are triggered by light absorption from a nanosecond pulsed laser (λ = 532 nm) at silver nanoparticles photodeposited at the distal end of a multimode optical fiber. Light absorbed from each laser pulse quickly heats up the silver-ethanol interface beyond the ethanol critical-point (∼ 243 °C) before the heat diffuses through the liquid. Therefore, the liquid achieves a metastable state and owing to spontaneous nucleation converted to a vapor bubble attached to the optical fiber. The bubble grows with semi-spherical shape producing a counterjet in the final stage of the collapse. This jet reaches the hot nanoparticles vaporizing almost immediately and ejecting a microbubble. This microbubble-generation mechanism takes place with every laser pulse (10 kHz repetition rate) leading to the generation of a microbubbles stream. The microbubbles' velocities decrease as they move away from the optical fiber and eventually coalesce forming a larger bubble. The larger bubble is attracted to the optical fiber by the Marangoni force once it reaches a critical size while being continuously fed with each bubble of the microbubbles stream. The balance of the optothermal forces owing to the laser-pulse drives the 3D manipulation of the main bubble. A complete characterization of the trapping conditions is provided in this paper
