Con una incidencia de metástasis inferior al 5%, presenta una tasa de recidivas superiores al 30%. Presentamos el caso de un dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans en el dorso del pie que requirió una amplia resección del tumor y la posterior cobertura mediante colgajo pediculado libre anterolateral de muslo. Se estudian las unidades más importantes de la Depresión del Ebro (Formaciones Sariñena, Longares y Series de Transición de Tarazana), de la Cordillera Ibérica (Keuper, Facies Weald y Formaciones Lignitos de Escucha y Arenas de Utrillas), los terciarios de las Depresiones Interiores (Depresiones de Calatayud y Alfambra-Teruel) y el Mioceno de la Depresión de Almazán. El mayor desarrollo lo adquieren las arcillas comunes (fundamentalmente ilíticasl. potencialmente utilizables como materiales de construcción y en alfarería.     Objetive: To know the most representative results of the use of royal jelly in reproductive protocols in wool and hair sheep,Desing/methodology/approach: A review of studies referenced in scientific databases published in the livestock sector was carried out. Results: In sheep, the administration of royal jelly in conjunction with reproductive management protocols improves the response to oestrus timing, oestrus onset time and duration, number of large follicles, ovulatory rate, and gestation rate. Study limitations/implications: Royal jelly is a substance that has beneficial effects on sheep reproductive variables, however the cost can be a limitation for its incorporation into the synchronization protocols, in addition to being necessary to elucidate the active metabolites that exert the action and the most effective route of administration.Findings/conclusions: Royal jelly can be an alternative to be incorporated in the estrous synchronization programs in sheep in order to replace some hormonal and without reducing reproductive variables.Objective: To assess the most relevant results on the usage of royal jelly in reproductive protocols of wool and hair sheep.     Propagation inhibition and wave localization in a 2D random liquid medium

    Acoustic propagation and scattering in water containing many parallel air-filled cylinders is studied. Two situations are considered and compared: (1) wave propagating through the array of cylinders, imitating a traditional experimental setup, and (2) wave transmitted from a source located inside the ensemble. We show that waves can be blocked from propagation by disorders in the first scenario, but the inhibition does not necessarily imply wave localization. Furthermore, the results reveal the phenomenon of wave localization in a range of frequencies.Comment: Typos in Fiures are correcte

    Ultrasonically enhanced low-temperature drying of apple: Influence on drying kinetics and antioxidant potential

    [EN] Low-temperature air drying represents an alternative means to hot air drying of better retaining the sensory, nutritional and functional properties of foods. However, reducing the air temperature to figures below the product s freezing point involves low drying rates, which largely places constraints on any further industrial application. The main aim of this work was to evaluate the feasibility of using power ultrasound to improve the low-temperature drying of apple, considering not only the kinetic effects but also the influence on the antioxidant potential of the dried apple. For that purpose, apple (Malus domestica cv. Granny Smith) cubes (8.8 mm side) were dried (2 m/s and a relative humidity of under 10%) at low temperatures ( 10, 5, 0, 5 and 10 C) with (20.5 kW/m3) and without ultrasound application. The drying kinetics were modeled by considering the diffusion theory, negligible shrinkage and cubic geometry. In the dried apple, total phenolic and flavonoid contents and antioxidant capacity were measured. The application of power ultrasound sped up the drying kinetics at every temperature tested, achieving drying time reductions of up to 77%, which was linked to the improvement in diffusion and convective mass transport.     Theoretical analysis of the focusing of acoustic waves by two-dimensional sonic crystals

    Motivated by a recent experiment on acoustic lenses, we perform numerical calculations based on a multiple scattering technique to investigate the focusing of acoustic waves with sonic crystals formed by rigid cylinders in air. The focusing effects for crystals of various shapes are examined. The dependance of the focusing length on the filling factor is also studied. It is observed that both the shape and filling factor play a crucial role in controlling the focusing. Furthermore, the robustness of the focusing against disorders is studied. The results show that the sensitivity of the focusing behavior depends on the strength of positional disorders. The theoretical results compare favorably with the experimental observations, reported by Cervera, et al. (Phys. Rev. Lett. 88, 023902 (2002)).Comment: 8 figure

    Scattering of elastic waves by periodic arrays of spherical bodies

    We develop a formalism for the calculation of the frequency band structure of a phononic crystal consisting of non-overlapping elastic spheres, characterized by Lam\'e coefficients which may be complex and frequency dependent, arranged periodically in a host medium with different mass density and Lam\'e coefficients. We view the crystal as a sequence of planes of spheres, parallel to and having the two dimensional periodicity of a given crystallographic plane, and obtain the complex band structure of the infinite crystal associated with this plane. The method allows one to calculate, also, the transmission, reflection, and absorption coefficients for an elastic wave (longitudinal or transverse) incident, at any angle, on a slab of the crystal of finite thickness.     Effects on short term outcome of non-invasive ventilation use in the emergency department to treat patients with acute heart failure: A propensity score-based analysis of the EAHFE Registry

    Objective: To assess the effects of non-invasive ventilation (NIV) in emergency department (ED) patients with acute heart failure (AHF) on short term outcomes. Methods: Patients from the EAHFE Registry (a multicenter, observational, multipurpose, cohort-designed database including consecutive AHF patients in 41 Spanish EDs) were grouped based on NIV treatment (NIV+ and NIV–groups). Using propensity score (PS) methodology, we identified two subgroups of patients matched by 38 covariates and compared regarding 30-day survival (primary outcome). Interaction was investigated for age, sex, ischemic cardiomyopathy, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, AHF precipitated by an acute coronary syndrome (ACS), AHF classified as hypertensive or acute pulmonary edema (APE), and systolic blood pressure (SBP). Secondary outcomes were intensive care unit (ICU) admission; mechanical ventilation; in-hospital, 3-day and 7-day mortality; and prolonged hospitalization (>7 days). Results: Of 11, 152 patients from the EAHFE (age (SD): 80 (10) years; 55.5% women), 718 (6.4%) were NIV+ and had a higher 30-day mortality (HR = 2.229; 95%CI = 1.861–2.670) (p 85 years, p < 0.001), AHF associated with ACS (p = 0.045), and SBP < 100 mmHg (p < 0.001). No significant differences were found in the secondary endpoints except for more prolonged hospitalizations in NIV+ patients (OR = 1.445; 95%CI = 1.122–1.862) (p = 0.004). Conclusion: The use of NIV to treat AHF in ED is not associated with improved mortality outcomes and should be cautious in old patients and those with ACS and hypotension
