A Marketing Booklet for the Alana Hotel Surabaya: the Best Way to Emphasize the Uniqueness of Its Products in Promoting Itself to Institutions and Companies

The Alana is a four-star hotel located in the South of Surabaya. It was built in 2013, which means that it is still a new hotel. Since it is new, it lacks the necessary promotion tool to reach the institutions and companies. In fact, The Alana does not have the promotion tool which emphasizes its excellence and uniqueness of the products. To solve the problem, The Alana needs a marketing booklet, which can help them to show their strengths. This marketing booklet consists of table of contents, company overview (about The Alana), product descriptions (hotel rooms, room types, hotel facilities, and meeting rooms), and contact information (contact us). By having this information, a marketing booklet will become the best tool for The Alana to show the strengths of their products and help them to reach their target marke

Gender inequality and sex differences in physical fighting, physical activity, and injury among adolescents across 36 countries

Purpose: Sex differences in adolescent health are widely documented, but social explanations for these sex differences are scarce. This study examines whether societal gender inequality (i.e., men’s and women’s unequal share in political participation, decision-making power, economic participation and command over resources) relates to sex differences in adolescent physical fighting, physical activity, and injuries. Methods: National-level data on gender inequality (i.e. the United Nations Development Program’s Gender Inequality Index) were linked to health data from 71,255 15-year olds from 36 countries in the 2009/10 Health Behavior in School-aged Children (HBSC) study. Using multilevel logistic regression analyses, we tested the association between gender inequality and sex differences in health while controlling for country wealth (GDP per capita). Results: In all countries, boys reported more physical fighting, physical activity, and injuries than girls, but the magnitude of these sex differences varied greatly between countries. Societal gender inequality positively related to sex differences in all three outcomes. In more gender unequal countries, boys reported higher levels of fighting and physical activity, compared to boys in more gender equal countries. In girls, scores were consistently low for these outcomes, however injury was more common in countries with less gender inequality. Conclusions: Societal gender inequality appears to relate to sex differences in some adolescent health behaviors and may contribute to the establishment of sex differences in morbidity and mortality. To reduce inequalities in the health of future generations, public health policy should target social and cultural factors that shape perceived gender norms in young people

The relationship between school inspections, school characteristics and school improvement.

The effects of school inspections on school improvement have been investigated only to a limited degree. The investigation reported on in this article is meant to expand our knowledge base regarding the impact of school inspections on school improvement. The theoretical framework for this research is partly based on the policy theory behind the Dutch Educational School Supervision Act (the latter includes assumptions about how school inspections lead to school improvement). Interviews and a survey with school inspectors gave insight into how school inspectors implement the Supervision Act and how they assess schools, and stimulate schools to improve. The results of ten case studies showed that all schools started to improve after a school visit. The innovation capacity of the school and the school environment do not seem to contribute to school improvement after school inspections. No effects were found on school-improvement processes of the number of insufficient scores that schools received from inspectors, the extent of feedback and suggestions for improvement, and the number of agreements. The provision of feedback about weaknesses, the assessment of these weak points as unsatisfactory, and the agreements between an inspector and the school regarding improvement activities do appear to make a difference in promoting school improvement

: Pterygium is a triangular-shaped tissue growth fibrovascular that grows from the conjunctiva to the cornea in the area interpalpebra. Pterygium of the conjunctiva grows wings shaped in accordance with bulbi.Prevalence pterygium Perdami Clinical Management Guidelines, the incidence is high at Indonesia pterigium equator area 13.1%.To know pterygium incident at the Ophthalmology Department Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Manado period January to December 2011.Retrospective descriptive study by examining the data (card patients) who had examination and treatment in Ophthalmology Department and the medical record Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Manado. The research results obtained from the patients of Pterygium is 213 patients were women had the highest number of 122 patients (57.28%). Pterygium largest number of people in the age group 50-59 years (30.04%). Largest Occupation the retired of 71 patients (33.33%). Patient data obtained from recurrent patients as much as 1 patient (0.52%). The eyes are the most heavily exposed to the OS pterygium as many as 70 patients (42.20%) and the grade of the most much on the grade of patient pterygium II by 67 patients (46.20%).As much as 213 patients who had examination and treatment with surgery pterygium, pterygium postoperative recurrence in patients with acquired and at least this proves that pterygium postoperative complications are rare these days, although in fact this is complications that are often.Visus good 6/3-6/7,is the most visual acuity found in pterygium with grade of I, II and III, while the grade of IV to normal visual acuity is the most.In IV grade is usually disturbing visual axis and more low visual acuity good vision, is to bad. This is proves that the higher the grade of pterygium the more high influence on our visual function is lowered

Capillary-Gravity Waves on Depth-Dependent Currents: Consequences for the Wave Resistance

We study theoretically the capillary-gravity waves created at the water-air interface by a small two-dimensional perturbation when a depth-dependent current is initially present in the fluid. Assuming linear wave theory, we derive a general expression of the wave resistance experienced by the perturbation as a function of the current profile in the case of an inviscid fluid. We then analyze and discuss in details the behavior of the wave resistance in the particular case of a linear current, a valid approximation for some wind generated currents.Comment: Submitted to EP

Investigation of selection criteria for Afrino sheep. Genetic parameters of growth and wool traits. The data used in this study were obtained from the Carnarvon Afrino stud. The genetic and phenotypic parameters for the various growth and wool traits were estimated by means of Henderson's Method III. The following traits were considered as possible selection criteria for ram selection: weaning weight (h2 = 0,21 ± O,07), yearling weight (h2 = 0,22 ± 0,07), ADG: weaning-year-old (h2 = 0,22 ± 0,07), Kleiber: weaning-year-old (h = 0,23 ± 0,07), and eighteen-month mass (h2 = 0,28 ± 0,08). However, the traits yearling weight, ADG: weaning-year-old and eighteen month mass cannot be considered as possible selection criteria because of their undesirable genetic correlations with birth mass and eighteen-month mass. Kleiber: weaning-year-old had a non-significant negative genetic correlation of -0,12 ± 0,22 with birth mass, a medium positive correlation with yearling weight (0,35 ± 0,21) and it is almost unrelated to eighteen-month mass (rg = 0,10 ± 0,22). At 12 months of age, rams can be selected on the basis of the following selection index: I=3 X weaning mass -- 1 X Kleiber: weaning-year-old- 18 X fibre diameter. Keywords: Afrino, genetic parameters, growth traits, Kleiber ratio

Impact of school inspections on improvement of schools—describing assumptions on causal mechanisms in six European countries

    Get PDF
School inspection is used by most European education systems as a major instrument for controlling and promoting the quality of schools. Surprisingly, there is little research knowledge about how school inspections drive the improvement of schools and which types of approaches are most effective and cause the least unintended consequences. The study presented in this paper uses interviews with inspection officials and a document analysis to reconstruct the “program theories” (i.e. the assumptions on causal mechanisms, linking school inspections to their intended outcomes of improved teaching and learning) of Inspectorates of Education in six European countries. The results section of the paper starts with a summary of the commonalities and differences of these six national inspection models with respect to standards and thresholds used, to types of feedback and reporting, and to the sanctions, rewards and interventions applied to motivate schools to improve. Next, the intermediate processes through which these inspection models are expected to promote good education (e.g. through actions of stakeholders) are explained. In the concluding section, these assumptions are critically discussed in the light of research knowledge
