NGC 2548: clumpy spatial and kinematic structure in an intermediate-age galactic cluster
NGC 2548 is a 400-500 Myr old open cluster with evidence of spatial
substructures likely caused by its interaction with the Galactic disk. In this
work we use precise astrometric data from the Carte du Ciel - San Fernando
(CdC-SF) catalogue to study the clumpy structure in this cluster. We confirm
the fragmented structure of NGC 2548 but, additionally, the relatively high
precision of our kinematic data lead us to the first detection of substructures
in the proper motion space of a stellar cluster. There are three spatially
separated cores each of which has its own counterpart in the proper motion
distribution. The two main cores lie nearly parallel to the Galactic plane
whereas the third one is significantly fainter than the others and it moves
toward the Galactic plane separating from the rest of the cluster. We derive
core positions and proper motions, as well as the stars belonging to each core.Comment: 9 pages, 8 figures, 4 tables. Accepted for publication in MNRA

Alpha9 nicotinic acetylcholine receptors and the treatment of pain
Chronic pain is a vexing worldwide problem that causes substantial disability and consumes significant medical resources. Although there are numerous analgesic medications, these work through a small set of molecular mechanisms. Even when these medications are used in combination, substantial amounts of pain often remain. It is therefore highly desirable to develop treatments that work through distinct mechanisms of action. While agonists of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) have been intensively studied, new data suggest a role for selective antagonists of nAChRs. α-Conotoxins are small peptides used offensively by carnivorous marine snails known as Conus. A subset of these peptides known as α-conotoxins RgIA and Vc1.1 produces both acute and long lasting analgesia. In addition, these peptides appear to accelerate the recovery of function after nerve injury, possibly through immune mediated mechanisms. Pharmacological analysis indicates that RgIA and Vc1.1 are selective antagonists of α9α10 nAChRs. A recent study also reported that these α9α10 antagonists are also potent GABA-B agonists. In the current study, we were unable to detect RgIA or Vc1.1 binding to or action on cloned GABA-B receptors expressed in HEK cells or Xenopus oocytes. Study of the stress intensity factors in the bulk of the material with synchrotron diffraction

analytical approach for estimating the stress intensity factor. It uses the
elastic strains within the bulk obtained by synchrotron X-ray diffraction
data. The stress intensity factor is calculated using a multi-point overdeterministic
method where the number of experimental data points is
higher than the number of unknowns describing the elastic field
surrounding the crack-tip. The tool is tested on X-ray strain
measurements collected on a bainitic steel. In contrast to surface
techniques the approach provides insights into the crack tip mechanics

Systematic review of the psychometric properties of patient-reported outcome measures for foot and ankle in rheumatoid arthritis
Background Foot problems and pain are common in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Patient-reported outcome measures provide a standardized method of capturing patients’ perspectives of their functional status and wellbeing. There are many instruments specific to people with feet affected by rheumatoid arthritis but knowledge of their psychometric validation or methodological quality is lacking
Objectives To identify patient-reported outcome measures specific to the foot and ankle and rheumatoid arthritis and investigate their methodological quality and psychometric properties
Design Systematic review. Data source : A search was conducted for psychometric or validation studies on patient-reported outcomes in Rheumatoid Arthritis published in different languages, by examining the Pubmed; Scopus, CINAHL; PEDro and Google Scholar databases. Review methods . The systematic review performed was based on the following inclusion criteria: psychometric or clinimetric validation studies on patient-reported outcomes specific to the foot and ankle that included patients with Rheumatoid arthritis. Two authors independently assessed the quality of the studies and extracted datas
Results Of the initial 431 studies, fourteen instruments met the inclusion criteria. Significant methodological flaws were detected in most with only SEFAS met the COSMIN quality criteria.
Conclusion SEFAS had the best quality and was ranked most appropriate for use with patients living with Rheumatoid Arthriti
Corporate and individual global mind-set and internationalization of European SMEs
This paper analyzes the effect of individual and corporate global mind-set on the internationalization of small and medium-sized European firms. Factor analysis and structural equation modeling methodology are the tools for this purpose. Results show the importance of the relationships between individual global mind-set and internationalization effect, and between corporate global mind-set and international know-how activities. Research model recognizes the relationship between individual global mind-set and corporate global mind-set. This research contributes significantly to literature by providing insight into three key areas: factors relating to corporate GM, relationship between corporate GM and internationalization factors of SMEs, and relationship

Effect of Low Dose Gamma Irradiation on Tristimulus Color and Carotenoid Stability of Seedless Kishu Mandarins (Citrus \u3cem\u3ekinokuni mukakukishu\u3c/em\u3e) During Postharvest Storage
The following research seeks to identify the most appropriate irradiation dose at which carotenoids can be preserved in Kishu mandarins. Irradiation serves as a potential quarantine treatment for imported commodities into the U.S. California grown mandarins kinokuni mukakukishu were treated using gamma irradiation at 0, 150 Gy, 400 Gy and 1000 Gy. The carotenoids in mandarin were evaluated for 3 test days following irradiation: after two days, after 3 weeks at 6 °C and after 3 week storage at 6 °C plus 1 extra week at 20 °C. These storage conditions simulate the sea shipment conditions of imported mandarins from China to U.S. Samples were subject to extraction, separation and saponification in order to obtain a pure carotenoid solution. Carotenoid identification was done based on order of elution, UV-VIS spectral data and retention times through HPLC-DAD analysis. The major carotenoids found were β-cryptoxanthin and β-carotene. The results show that the major carotenoids were sensitive to all irradiation doses immediately upon treatment, however exposure to room temperature for a week increased their concentrations. Irradiation caused a decrease in color a* and b* values only in the third week of storage. There did not appear to be a clear correlation between changes in carotenoid content and color values

teaching due to COVID-19, this analytical practice may mean
improvements in K-12 levels in Spain. The work aims to
expose the principal scientific publications regarding
Learning analytics at these educational levels through a
systematic mapping study. The authors set the hypothesis that
there is limited research in such an educational context.
Results validate the hypothesis and foster to continue the
work through a deeper systematic review
