    Influência da densidade de jogos na demanda fisiológica de jogadores de futebol durante uma temporada competitiva

    Os hormônios testosterona e cortisol possuem ação antagônica no organismo, sendo a razão testosterona/cortisol usada para apreciar o estado anabólico/catabólico dos jogadores de futebol. Buscou-se avaliar as variações nas concentrações desses hormônios ao longo de uma temporada competitiva de alta densidade. Participaram do estudo 23 atletas do sexo masculino de uma equipe da primeira divisão do futebol nacional no contexto da Copa do Mundo, divididos em titulares e reservas. Coletou-se 7 amostras de sangue durante o calendário de jogos (M0 a M6). Para a análise estatística utilizou-se a ANOVA two way para medidas repetidas seguida do post hoc de Tukey. Obteve-se uma matriz de correlação entre as variáveis através do coeficiente de Pearson. O nível de significância foi de p<0,05. Os titulares apresentaram maiores concentrações de testosterona em comparação aos reservas em M0 e M4. As concentrações de cortisol foram menores nos reservas em relação aos titulares em M2, M3, M5 e M6. Nos titulares e reservas a razão T/C apresentou correlação significativa com a densidade de jogos (r= -0,94 e r= -0,80, respectivamente), sendo as diferenças nas médias da razão T/C significativas entre titulares e reservas em M2, M3, M5 e M6. O estudo confirma a relação entre a magnitude da variação hormonal com a maior demanda fisiológica de uma temporada com alto volume de jogos. Conclui-se assim que a avaliação das respostas do sistema endócrino pode auxiliar no planejamento das sessões de treinamento

    Potencial de seleção em uma população de Eucalyptus grandis Hill ex Maiden, para resistência à mancha foliar e ao cancro

    The use of resistant genotypes is one of the main methods of disease control in Brazil, the genetic improvement, aiming to obtain new genotypes that are resistant is fundamental to supply this demand. Therefore, the objective of this work was to estimate the genetic parameters of the variables: resistance to canker caused by Chrysoporthe cubensis and leaf spot caused by Cylindrocladium spp. and Kirramyces epicoccoides, and to evaluate their implications for the genetic improvement strategy of Eucalyptus grandis. An open pollination progeny test was installed in two locations in the state of São Paulo, in the regions of Anhembi and Itatinga. The test was carried out in randomized blocks, with 176 progenies and three witnesses, one per plot, with 30 repetitions in Itatinga and 28 repetitions in the Anhembi region. The canker resistance was assessed at 12, 24 and 29 months of age in the Anhembi region and at 15, 27 and 32 months of age in the Itatinga region. The resistance to leaf spot was evaluated. at 12 and 24 months of age in the Anhembi region and at 15 and 27 months of age in the Itatinga region. The genetic parameters were estimated using the SELEGEN REML/BLUP® software. It was found out, with the same selection population for the Itatinga region, estimates of genetic parameters indicate greater potential for the selection of resistant genotypes for canker and leaf spot. However, for the edaphoclimatic conditions of the Anhembi region, this population has a lower selection potential, which is evidenced by the low values of the estimated average progeny and individual heritability. In the region of Itatinga, values of average progeny and individual heritability were obtained for resistance to canker and leaf spot, which varied from moderate to high, indicating that there may be good gains with the selection in this location.O uso de genótipos resistentes é um dos principais métodos de controle de doenças no Brasil, sendo fundamental o melhoramento genético visando a obter novos genótipos resistentes, para suprir essa demanda. Assim, o objetivo deste trabalho foi estimar os parâmetros genéticos das variáveis resistência ao cancro, causado por Chrysoporthe cubensis e resistência à mancha foliar, causada por Cylindrocladium spp. e Kirramyces epicoccoides, bem como avaliar suas implicações na estratégia de melhoramento genético de Eucalyptus grandis. Foi instalado um teste de progênies de polinização aberta, em dois locais no Estado de São Paulo, nas regiões de Anhembi e Itatinga. O teste foi realizado em blocos casualizados, com 176 progênies e três testemunhas, uma por parcela, com 30 repetições em Itatinga e 28 repetições na região de Anhembi. A resistência ao cancro foi avaliada aos 12, 24 e 29 meses de idade na região de Anhembi e aos 15, 27 e 32 meses de idade, na região de Itatinga. A resistência à mancha foliar foi avaliada aos 12 e 24 meses de idade na região de Anhembi e aos 15 e 27 meses de idade, na região de Itatinga. Os parâmetros genéticos foram estimados, utilizando o software SELEGEN REML/BLUP®. Com a mesma população de seleção, verificou-se que, para a região de Itatinga, as estimativas de parâmetros genéticos indicam maior potencial para a seleção de genótipos resistentes ao cancro e à mancha foliar. Porém, para as condições edafoclimáticas da região de Anhembi, essa população apresenta potencial de seleção inferior, o que fica evidenciado pelos baixos valores de herdabilidade média individual de progênies estimados. Na região de Itatinga, foram obtidos valores de herdabilidade média individual de progênies para a resistência ao cancro e à mancha foliar, que variaram de moderado a alto, indicando que pode haver bons ganhos com a seleção neste local

    Qualidade de vida em idosos durante a pandemia da COVID-19: Relato de experiência de um grupo operativo de estudantes de medicina

    O bem-estar e a saúde mental da população idosa é pauta central desde o início da transição do perfil demográfico no Brasil, sendo essa preocupação intensificada pelo estado de emergência de saúde pública instaurado com o advento do SARS-CoV-2. Por meio de grupos operativos adaptados ao isolamento social, tenta-se manter o envolvimento comunitário e a prática coletiva de discussão para alívio da sensação de solitude. Sendo assim, uma equipe da disciplina de Práticas Integrativas de Ensino, Serviço e Comunidade II, da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri, em Diamantina, executou um grupo operativo com 4 idosas, na idade entre 63 a 84 anos, via online pelo aplicativo Google Meet, a fim de avaliar a qualidade de vida e o impacto da pandemia nessa parcela da população. Os resultados foram avaliados qualitativamente pela equipe e discutidos com o docente de acordo com as evidências científicas de qualidade de vida para os idosos. Foram abordados temas como ansiedade, sono, atividade física, hábitos alimentares, convívio social e estado emocional no período de pandemia. Foram relatadas mudanças nos hábitos após o distanciamento social, principalmente pela ansiedade e contexto social, mas foi possível perceber o interesse das participantes em discutir e compartilhar o que sentiam, para solucionar os empecilhos em conjunto. O projeto teve boa aceitação e repercussão, podendo ser um precursor de mais medidas de terapia comunitária nas ações públicas que visam melhoria da qualidade de vida e bem-estar social na senilidade, especialmente em condições de isolamento social. Palavras-chave: : Terapia Comunitária; Saúde Mental; Bem-Estar; Terceira Idade; Isolamento Social Quality of life in elderly during the COVID-19 pandemic: Report of an operative group experience by medical students Abstract: The well-being and mental health of the elderly population has been a central issue since the beginning of the demographic profile transition in Brazil, and this concern has been intensified by the state of public health emergency installed with the advent of SARS-CoV-2. By using operative groups adapted to social isolation, we try to maintain community involvement and the collective practice of discussion to mitigate the feeling of loneliness. Thus, a team from the Integrative Practices of Education, Service and Community II course at the Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri Medical School, in Diamantina (Minas Gerais State, Brazil) carried out an operative group with 4 elderly women, ages 63 to 84, online via Google Meet, in order to assess their quality of life and the impact of the pandemic on this section of the population. The results were qualitative analyzed by the team and discussed with the faculty according to the scientific evidence on quality of life for the elderly. Topics such as anxiety, sleep, physical activity, eating habits, social interaction and emotional state during the pandemic period were addressed. Changes in habits were reported after the social distance, mainly due to anxiety and social context, but it was possible to observe the participants' interest in discussing and sharing what they felt to solve the problems as a group. The project had high acceptance and impact, and may be a forerunner of more community therapy measures in public actions aimed at improving quality of life and social well-being in senility, especially in social distancing conditions.     Direct evidence for phosphorus limitation on Amazon forest productivity

    The productivity of rainforests growing on highly weathered tropical soils is expected to be limited by phosphorus availability1. Yet, controlled fertilization experiments have been unable to demonstrate a dominant role for phosphorus in controlling tropical forest net primary productivity. Recent syntheses have demonstrated that responses to nitrogen addition are as large as to phosphorus2, and adaptations to low phosphorus availability appear to enable net primary productivity to be maintained across major soil phosphorus gradients3. Thus, the extent to which phosphorus availability limits tropical forest productivity is highly uncertain. The majority of the Amazonia, however, is characterized by soils that are more depleted in phosphorus than those in which most tropical fertilization experiments have taken place2. Thus, we established a phosphorus, nitrogen and base cation addition experiment in an old growth Amazon rainforest, with a low soil phosphorus content that is representative of approximately 60% of the Amazon basin. Here we show that net primary productivity increased exclusively with phosphorus addition. After 2 years, strong responses were observed in fine root (+29%) and canopy productivity (+19%), but not stem growth. The direct evidence of phosphorus limitation of net primary productivity suggests that phosphorus availability may restrict Amazon forest responses to CO2 fertilization4, with major implications for future carbon sequestration and forest resilience to climate change.The authors acknowledge funding from the UK Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), grant number NE/L007223/1.     Familial hypercholesterolaemia in children and adolescents from 48 countries: a cross-sectional study

    Background: Approximately 450 000 children are born with familial hypercholesterolaemia worldwide every year, yet only 2·1% of adults with familial hypercholesterolaemia were diagnosed before age 18 years via current diagnostic approaches, which are derived from observations in adults. We aimed to characterise children and adolescents with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolaemia (HeFH) and understand current approaches to the identification and management of familial hypercholesterolaemia to inform future public health strategies. Methods: For this cross-sectional study, we assessed children and adolescents younger than 18 years with a clinical or genetic diagnosis of HeFH at the time of entry into the Familial Hypercholesterolaemia Studies Collaboration (FHSC) registry between Oct 1, 2015, and Jan 31, 2021. Data in the registry were collected from 55 regional or national registries in 48 countries. Diagnoses relying on self-reported history of familial hypercholesterolaemia and suspected secondary hypercholesterolaemia were excluded from the registry; people with untreated LDL cholesterol (LDL-C) of at least 13·0 mmol/L were excluded from this study. Data were assessed overall and by WHO region, World Bank country income status, age, diagnostic criteria, and index-case status. The main outcome of this study was to assess current identification and management of children and adolescents with familial hypercholesterolaemia. Findings: Of 63 093 individuals in the FHSC registry, 11 848 (18·8%) were children or adolescents younger than 18 years with HeFH and were included in this study; 5756 (50·2%) of 11 476 included individuals were female and 5720 (49·8%) were male. Sex data were missing for 372 (3·1%) of 11 848 individuals. Median age at registry entry was 9·6 years (IQR 5·8-13·2). 10 099 (89·9%) of 11 235 included individuals had a final genetically confirmed diagnosis of familial hypercholesterolaemia and 1136 (10·1%) had a clinical diagnosis. Genetically confirmed diagnosis data or clinical diagnosis data were missing for 613 (5·2%) of 11 848 individuals. Genetic diagnosis was more common in children and adolescents from high-income countries (9427 [92·4%] of 10 202) than in children and adolescents from non-high-income countries (199 [48·0%] of 415). 3414 (31·6%) of 10 804 children or adolescents were index cases. Familial-hypercholesterolaemia-related physical signs, cardiovascular risk factors, and cardiovascular disease were uncommon, but were more common in non-high-income countries. 7557 (72·4%) of 10 428 included children or adolescents were not taking lipid-lowering medication (LLM) and had a median LDL-C of 5·00 mmol/L (IQR 4·05-6·08). Compared with genetic diagnosis, the use of unadapted clinical criteria intended for use in adults and reliant on more extreme phenotypes could result in 50-75% of children and adolescents with familial hypercholesterolaemia not being identified. Interpretation: Clinical characteristics observed in adults with familial hypercholesterolaemia are uncommon in children and adolescents with familial hypercholesterolaemia, hence detection in this age group relies on measurement of LDL-C and genetic confirmation. Where genetic testing is unavailable, increased availability and use of LDL-C measurements in the first few years of life could help reduce the current gap between prevalence and detection, enabling increased use of combination LLM to reach recommended LDL-C targets early in life

    Multidifferential study of identified charged hadron distributions in ZZ-tagged jets in proton-proton collisions at s=\sqrt{s}=13 TeV

    Jet fragmentation functions are measured for the first time in proton-proton collisions for charged pions, kaons, and protons within jets recoiling against a ZZ boson. The charged-hadron distributions are studied longitudinally and transversely to the jet direction for jets with transverse momentum 20 <pT<100< p_{\textrm{T}} < 100 GeV and in the pseudorapidity range 2.5<η<42.5 < \eta < 4. The data sample was collected with the LHCb experiment at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.64 fb1^{-1}. Triple differential distributions as a function of the hadron longitudinal momentum fraction, hadron transverse momentum, and jet transverse momentum are also measured for the first time. This helps constrain transverse-momentum-dependent fragmentation functions.     Study of the BΛc+ΛˉcKB^{-} \to \Lambda_{c}^{+} \bar{\Lambda}_{c}^{-} K^{-} decay

    The decay BΛc+ΛˉcKB^{-} \to \Lambda_{c}^{+} \bar{\Lambda}_{c}^{-} K^{-} is studied in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of s=13\sqrt{s}=13 TeV using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5 fb1\mathrm{fb}^{-1} collected by the LHCb experiment. In the Λc+K\Lambda_{c}^+ K^{-} system, the Ξc(2930)0\Xi_{c}(2930)^{0} state observed at the BaBar and Belle experiments is resolved into two narrower states, Ξc(2923)0\Xi_{c}(2923)^{0} and Ξc(2939)0\Xi_{c}(2939)^{0}, whose masses and widths are measured to be m(Ξc(2923)0)=2924.5±0.4±1.1MeV,m(Ξc(2939)0)=2938.5±0.9±2.3MeV,Γ(Ξc(2923)0)=0004.8±0.9±1.5MeV,Γ(Ξc(2939)0)=0011.0±1.9±7.5MeV, m(\Xi_{c}(2923)^{0}) = 2924.5 \pm 0.4 \pm 1.1 \,\mathrm{MeV}, \\ m(\Xi_{c}(2939)^{0}) = 2938.5 \pm 0.9 \pm 2.3 \,\mathrm{MeV}, \\ \Gamma(\Xi_{c}(2923)^{0}) = \phantom{000}4.8 \pm 0.9 \pm 1.5 \,\mathrm{MeV},\\ \Gamma(\Xi_{c}(2939)^{0}) = \phantom{00}11.0 \pm 1.9 \pm 7.5 \,\mathrm{MeV}, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. The results are consistent with a previous LHCb measurement using a prompt Λc+K\Lambda_{c}^{+} K^{-} sample. Evidence of a new Ξc(2880)0\Xi_{c}(2880)^{0} state is found with a local significance of 3.8σ3.8\,\sigma, whose mass and width are measured to be 2881.8±3.1±8.5MeV2881.8 \pm 3.1 \pm 8.5\,\mathrm{MeV} and 12.4±5.3±5.8MeV12.4 \pm 5.3 \pm 5.8 \,\mathrm{MeV}, respectively. In addition, evidence of a new decay mode Ξc(2790)0Λc+K\Xi_{c}(2790)^{0} \to \Lambda_{c}^{+} K^{-} is found with a significance of 3.7σ3.7\,\sigma. The relative branching fraction of BΛc+ΛˉcKB^{-} \to \Lambda_{c}^{+} \bar{\Lambda}_{c}^{-} K^{-} with respect to the BD+DKB^{-} \to D^{+} D^{-} K^{-} decay is measured to be 2.36±0.11±0.22±0.252.36 \pm 0.11 \pm 0.22 \pm 0.25, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic and the third originates from the branching fractions of charm hadron decays.Comment: All figures and tables, along with any supplementary material and additional information, are available at https://cern.ch/lhcbproject/Publications/p/LHCb-PAPER-2022-028.html (LHCb public pages

    Measurement of the ratios of branching fractions R(D)\mathcal{R}(D^{*}) and R(D0)\mathcal{R}(D^{0})

    The ratios of branching fractions R(D)B(BˉDτνˉτ)/B(BˉDμνˉμ)\mathcal{R}(D^{*})\equiv\mathcal{B}(\bar{B}\to D^{*}\tau^{-}\bar{\nu}_{\tau})/\mathcal{B}(\bar{B}\to D^{*}\mu^{-}\bar{\nu}_{\mu}) and R(D0)B(BD0τνˉτ)/B(BD0μνˉμ)\mathcal{R}(D^{0})\equiv\mathcal{B}(B^{-}\to D^{0}\tau^{-}\bar{\nu}_{\tau})/\mathcal{B}(B^{-}\to D^{0}\mu^{-}\bar{\nu}_{\mu}) are measured, assuming isospin symmetry, using a sample of proton-proton collision data corresponding to 3.0 fb1{ }^{-1} of integrated luminosity recorded by the LHCb experiment during 2011 and 2012. The tau lepton is identified in the decay mode τμντνˉμ\tau^{-}\to\mu^{-}\nu_{\tau}\bar{\nu}_{\mu}. The measured values are R(D)=0.281±0.018±0.024\mathcal{R}(D^{*})=0.281\pm0.018\pm0.024 and R(D0)=0.441±0.060±0.066\mathcal{R}(D^{0})=0.441\pm0.060\pm0.066, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. The correlation between these measurements is ρ=0.43\rho=-0.43.
