    Luminescent Layered Double Hydroxides Intercalated with an Anionic Photosensitizer via the Memory Effect

    Layered double hydroxides (LDHs) containing Eu3+ activators were synthesized by coprecipitation of Zn2+, Al3+, and Eu3+ in alkaline NO3−-rich aqueous solution. Upon calcination, these materials transform into a crystalline ZnO solid solution containing Al and Eu. For suitably low calcination temperatures, this phase can be restored to LDH by rehydration in water, a feature known as the memory effect. During rehydration of an LDH, new anionic species can be intercalated and functionalized, obtaining desired physicochemical properties. This work explores the memory effect as a route to produce luminescent LDHs intercalated with 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid (BTC), a known anionic photosensitizer for Eu3+. Time-dependent hydration of calcined LDHs in a BTC-rich aqueous solution resulted in the recovery of the lamellar phase and in the intercalation with BTC. The interaction of this photosensitizer with Eu3+ in the recovered hydroxide layers gave rise to efficient energy transfer from the BTC antennae to the Eu3+ ions, providing a useful tool to monitor the rehydration process of the calcined LDHs

    Este trabalho foi realizado para avaliar os efeitos da redução da proteína da dieta, por meio da suplementação com aminoácidos sintéticos, sobre o desempenho produtivo, a digestibilidade e o diâmetro da fibra muscular de tilápias-do-nilo. Os aminoácidos (lisina, metionina, treonina e arginina) foram suplementados de forma a manter o perfil de aminoácidos da dieta-referência. Foram utilizados 160 peixes com peso vivo médio inicial de 105,7 ± 2,5 g, distribuídos em 16 tanques (1 m³ cada) e alimentados com dietas contendo 26,74; 25,82; 23,09 ou 22,16% de proteína digestível durante 110 dias. Não foi observado efeito dos níveis de proteína nas dietas sobre o ganho de peso diário, o índice hepatossomático, a gordura visceral, o rendimento de filé, os teores corporais de umidade, proteína bruta e cinzas, o teor de cinzas no filé, a taxa de sobrevivência e o diâmetro das fibras do músculo dorsal. Com a redução dos níveis de proteína na dieta, foi observada redução linear dos coeficientes de digestibilidade aparente da energia bruta, proteína bruta, extrato etéreo e fósforo das dietas. Houve efeito quadrático dos níveis de proteína sobre a conversão alimentar, a taxa de eficiência proteica, a retenção de nitrogênio, o nitrogênio excretado, a umidade no filé, a gordura corporal e no filé e proteína no filé, de modo que os melhores valores foram estimados com 24,53; 24,25; 24,04; 25,15; 24,67; 24,14; 24,34; 25,11% de proteína digestível, respectivamente. É possível reduzir, de 26,74 para 24,53%, a proteína digestível em dietas para tilápias-do-nilo na fase de 100 a 500 g.<br>The objective of this work was to evaluate the effects of reduction of protein in diets for Nile tilapia by supplementation of synthetic amino acids on performance, digestibility and diameter of muscle fiber of Nile tilapias. The amino acids (lysine, methionine, threonine and arginine) were supplemented to keep the profile of amino acids in the reference diet. It was used 160 fish with initial live weight of 105.7 ± 2.5 g, distributed in 16 tanks (1 m³ each tank) fed diets containing 26.74; 25.82; 23.09 or 22.16% of digestible protein for 110 days. It was not observed any effects of protein levels in the diets on daily weight gain, hepatosomatic index, visceral fat, fillet yield, carcass humidity, crude protein and ash, fillet ash, survival rate and on the white muscle fiber diameter. A linear decrease on apparent digestibility coefficients, gross energy, crude protein, ether extract and phosphorus was observed when protein levels in the diet were reduced. There was a quadratic effect on feed conversion ratio, protein efficiency rate, nitrogen retention, nitrogen excretion, fillet humidity, carcass and fillet fat and fillet protein, in which the best-fit responses were estimated with 24.53, 24.25, 24.04, 25.15, 24.67, 24.14, 24.34 and 25.11% of digestible protein, respectively.     International audienceA study of prompt Ξc+\Xi_{c}^{+} production in proton-lead collisions is performed with the LHCb experiment at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of 8.16 TeV in 2016 in ppPb and Pbpp collisions with an estimated integrated luminosity of approximately 12.5 and 17.4 nb1^{-1}, respectively. The Ξc+\Xi_{c}^{+} production cross-section, as well as the Ξc+\Xi_{c}^{+} to Λc+\Lambda_{c}^{+} production cross-section ratio, are measured as a function of the transverse momentum and rapidity and compared to latest theory predictions. The forward-backward asymmetry is also measured as a function of the Ξc+\Xi_{c}^{+} transverse momentum

    The first study of C ⁣PC\!P violation in the decay mode B±[K+Kπ+π]Dh±B^\pm\to[K^+K^-\pi^+\pi^-]_D h^{\pm}, with h=K,πh=K,\pi, is presented, exploiting a data sample of proton-proton collisions collected by the LHCb experiment that corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 99 fb1^{-1}. The analysis is performed in bins of phase space, which are optimised for sensitivity to local C ⁣PC\!P asymmetries. C ⁣PC\!P-violating observables that are sensitive to the angle γ\gamma of the Unitarity Triangle are determined. The analysis requires external information on charm-decay parameters, which are currently taken from an amplitude analysis of LHCb data, but can be updated in the future when direct measurements become available.     International audienceA search for CPCP violation in D0ππ+π0D^0 \to \pi^-\pi^+\pi^0 decays is reported, using pppp collision data collected by the LHCb experiment from 2015 to 2018 corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6fb1fb^{-1}. An unbinned model-independent approach provides sensitivity to local CPCP violation within the two-dimensional phase space of the decay. The method is validated using the Cabibbo-favoured channel \D^0 \to \K^-\pi^+\pi^0 and background regions of the signal mode. The results are consistent with CPCP symmetry in this decay

    Study of the Bose-Einstein correlations of same-sign pions in proton-lead collisions

    International audienceCorrelations of same-sign charged particles are analysed using proton-lead collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at a nucleon-nucleon centre-of-mass energy of 5.02 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.06 nb-1. Bose-Einstein correlations are observed in the form of an enhancement of pair production for same-sign charged pions with a small four-momentum difference squared. The dependence of the correlation radius and the intercept parameter on the reconstructed charged-particle multiplicity is investigated. The measured correlation radii scale linearly with the cube root of the reconstructed charged-particle multiplicity, being compatible with predictions of hydrodynamic models on the collision system evolution

    Search for D(2007)0μ+μD^{*}(2007)^0\to\mu^+\mu^- in Bπμ+μB^-\to\pi^-\mu^+\mu^- decays

    International audienceThe very rare D(2007)0μ+μD^{*}(2007)^0\to\mu^+\mu^- decay is searched for by analysing Bπμ+μB^-\to\pi^-\mu^+\mu^- decays. The analysis uses a sample of beauty mesons produced in proton-proton collisions collected with the LHCb detector between 2011 and 2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb1^{-1}. The signal signature corresponds to simultaneous peaks in the μ+μ\mu^+\mu^- and πμ+μ\pi^-\mu^+\mu^- invariant masses. No evidence for an excess of events over background is observed and an upper limit is set on the branching fraction of the decay at B(D(2007)0μ+μ)<2.6×108{\cal B}(D^{*}(2007)^0\to\mu^+\mu^-) < 2.6\times 10^{-8} at 90%90\% confidence level. This is the first limit on the branching fraction of D(2007)0μ+μD^{*}(2007)^0\to\mu^+\mu^- decays and the most stringent limit on D(2007)0D^{*}(2007)^0 decays to leptonic final states. The analysis is the first search for a rare charm-meson decay exploiting production via beauty decays
