    Videogame industry: an opportunity for future entrepreneurship

    En este trabajo se proporciona una serie de parámetros a partir de una investigación que abarca el contexto del emprendimiento empresarial en la industria de los videojuegos por medio de bases de datos como Science direct, Scopus y Proquest como buscadores principales por temáticas a fines sociales, administrativos y tecnológicos de la meta base de datos de la Universidad Militar Nueva Granada con parámetros asociados a emprendimiento, industria de videojuegos, apoyo a pymes y relacionados para tener un amplio espectro de información que sirvió para dar respuesta al cómo y qué interviene para la creación de un proyecto de emprendimiento en Colombia. Esta serie de documentación y posterior evaluación crítica de información generó como resultado cinco (5) parámetros que acercaran a todo emprendedor colombiano a la forma en la que puede crear un emprendimiento de una manera adecuada a partir del planteamiento abierto de recomendaciones de análisis desde el inicio de la idea, posterior apalancamiento, desarrollo publicación y finalmente servicio post venta.This work provides a series of parameters based on an investigation that covers the context of business entrepreneurship in the videogame industry through databases such as Science direct, Scopus and Proquest as main search engines for social, administrative. and technological at the New Granada Military University’s meta database with parameters associated with entrepreneurship, videogames industry, support for SMEs and related to have a wide spectrum of information that served to respond to the how and what intervenes for the creation of an entrepreneurship project in Colombia.     Prediction of 3D RNA Structures from Sequence Using Energy Landscapes of RNA Dimers: Application to RNA Tetraloops

    Access to the three-dimensional structure of RNA enables an ability to gain a more profound understanding of its biological mechanisms, as well as the ability to design RNA-targeting drugs, which can take advantage of the unique chemical environment imposed by a folded RNA structure. Due to the dynamic and structurally complex properties of RNA, both experimental and traditional computational methods have difficulty in determining RNA’s 3D structure. Herein, we introduce TAPERSS (Theoretical Analyses, Prediction, and Evaluation of RNA Structures from Sequence), a physics-based fragment assembly method for predicting 3D RNA structures from sequence. Using a fragment library created using discrete path sampling calculations of RNA dinucleoside monophosphates, TAPERSS can sample the physics-based energy landscapes of any RNA sequence with relatively low computational complexity. We have benchmarked TAPERSS on 21 RNA tetraloops, using a combinatorial algorithm as a proof-of-concept. We show that TAPERSS was successfully able to predict the apo-state structures of all 21 RNA hairpins, with 16 of those structures also having low predicted energies as well. We demonstrate that TAPERSS performs most accurately on GNRA-like tetraloops with mostly stacked loop-nucleotides, while having limited success with more dynamic UNCG and CUYG tetraloops, most likely due to the influence of the RNA force field used to create the fragment library. Moreover, we show that TAPERSS can successfully predict the majority of the experimental non-apo states, highlighting its potential in anticipating biologically significant yet unobserved states. This holds great promise for future applications in drug design and related studies. With discussed improvements and implementation of more efficient sampling algorithms, we believe TAPERSS may serve as a useful tool for a physics-based conformational sampling of large RNA structures

    Introducción: el liderazgo de enfermería se considera una competencia fundamental, por su clara repercusión en la calidad de los cuidados. Objetivo: conocer el estilo de liderazgo que ejercen enfermeras(os) asistenciales, docentes y supervisoras(es). Material y método: investigación cuantitativa, descriptiva y transversal. La muestra está constituida por 165 profesionales de enfermería del área adulto-pediátrica, en una ciudad del sur de Chile. La recolección de datos se realizó mediante el Cuestionario Multifactorial de Liderazgo, en su forma corta, adaptado a la población chilena por Vega y Zabala. Resultados: se evidencia que los profesionales en enfermería asistenciales desarrollan en menor grado los estilos transformacional y transaccional. Por el contrario, aquellos de las áreas docente y de supervisión utilizan preferentemente un liderazgo transaccional, donde se destaca la recompensa contingente en docentes y la consideración individualizada en supervisores, como las principales. Según el sexo, las mujeres utilizan con mayor frecuencia las conductas motivación inspiracional y carisma inspiracional. Además, el liderazgo transaccional está más presente en mujeres, al igual que la consideración individualizada. Conclusión: se aprecia el predominio del liderazgo transaccional en enfermeras(os) docentes y supervisoras(es), que afecta el desarrollo y el fortalecimiento de un liderazgo transformador esencial para una gestión del cuidado de calidad. doi: 10.5294/aqui.2017.17.1.

    Introduction: Nursing leadership is considered a fundamental competence, due to its impact on the quality of care. Objective: Know the style of leadership exercised by nurses, nursing assistants, nursing teachers and supervisors. Materials and method: This is a quantitative, descriptive and transversal study. The sample is comprised of 165 nursing professionals from the adult-pediatric area in Temuco, southern Chile. Data collection was done through the Multifactorial Leadership Questionnaire, in its short form, adapted to the Chilean population by Vega and Zabala. Results: It was shown that nursing professionals develop transformational and transactional styles to a lesser degree. In the teaching and supervisory areas, they exercise transactional leadership, and contingent reward in teachers and individualized consideration in supervisors are elements that stand out. According to gender, women most often use inspirational motivational behavior and inspirational charisma. In addition, transactional leadership is found more in women, as is individualized consideration. Conclusion: The predominance of transactional leadership in nurses (teachers) and supervisors (s), which favors the development and reinforcement of transformative leadership, is essential to quality care management.Introducción: el liderazgo de enfermería se considera una competencia fundamental, por su clara repercusión en la calidad de los cuidados.     Digital Twin Geometry for Fibrous Air Filtration Media

    Computational modeling of air filtration is possible by replicating nonwoven nanofibrous meltblown or electrospun filter media with digital representative geometry. This article presents a methodology to create and modify randomly generated fiber geometry intended as a digital twin replica of fibrous filtration media. Digital twin replicas of meltblown and electrospun filter media are created using Python scripting and Ansys SpaceClaim. The effect of fiber stiffness, represented by a fiber relaxation slope, is analyzed in relation to resulting filter solid volume fraction and thickness. Contemporary air filtration media may also be effectively modeled analytically and tested experimentally in order to yield valuable information on critical characteristics, such as overall resistance to airflow and particle capture efficiency. An application of the Single Fiber Efficiency model is incorporated in this work to illustrate the estimation of performance for the generated media with an analytical model. The resulting digital twin fibrous geometry compares well with SEM imagery of fibrous filter materials. This article concludes by suggesting adaptation of the methodology to replicate digital twins of other nonwoven fiber mesh applications for computational modeling, such as fiber reinforced additive manufacturing and composite materials

    Evaluating Geometric Definitions of Stacking for RNA Dinucleoside Monophosphates Using Molecular Mechanics Calculations.

    RNA modulation via small molecules is a novel approach in pharmacotherapies, where the determination of the structural properties of RNA motifs is considered a promising way to develop drugs capable of targeting RNA structures to control diseases. However, due to the complexity and dynamic nature of RNA molecules, the determination of RNA structures using experimental approaches is not always feasible, and computational models employing force fields can provide important insight. The quality of the force field will determine how well the predictions are compared to experimental observables. Stacking in nucleic acids is one such structural property, originating mainly from London dispersion forces, which are quantum mechanical and are included in molecular mechanics force fields through nonbonded interactions. Geometric descriptions are utilized to decide if two residues are stacked and hence to calculate the stacking free energies for RNA dinucleoside monophosphates (DNMPs) through statistical mechanics for comparison with experimental thermodynamics data. Here, we benchmark four different stacking definitions using molecular dynamics (MD) trajectories for 16 RNA DNMPs produced by two different force fields (RNA-IL and ff99OL3) and show that our stacking definition better correlates with the experimental thermodynamics data. While predictions within an accuracy of 0.2 kcal/mol at 300 K were observed in RNA CC, CU, UC, AG, GA, and GG, stacked states of purine-pyrimidine and pyrimidine-purine DNMPs, respectively, were typically underpredicted and overpredicted. Additionally, population distributions of RNA UU DNMPs were poorly predicted by both force fields, implying a requirement for further force field revisions. We further discuss the differences predicted by each RNA force field. Finally, we show that discrete path sampling (DPS) calculations can provide valuable information and complement the MD simulations. We propose the use of experimental thermodynamics data for RNA DNMPs as benchmarks for testing RNA force fields
