Gangliocytic paraganglioma of the spine
Paragangliomas are rare, encapsulated, benign neuroendocrine tumors that can arise from the adrenal medulla or extraadrenal paraganglia. Extra-adrenal paragangliomas may develop a gangliocytic component with ganglion cells (Gangliocytic paragangliomas). Nearly 25%of cauda equina paragangliomas are gangliocytic paragangliomas. Here, we describe the case of a 35-year-old male who presented with weakness of both lower limbs over the last two months. Radiological findings were suggestive of myxopapillary ependymoma. However, the histopathological examination revealed a tumor with cells arranged in sheets, papillae, lobules, and around vessels forming pseudo rosettes. Ganglion cells were seen in small groups and, also singly. Tumor cells were immunopositive for chromogranin, synaptophysin, and S-100. Ganglion cells were immunopositive for synaptophysin, NSE, and NFP. A final histological diagnosis of Gangliocytic paraganglioma (WHO grade I) was made. To date, only nine gangliocytic paraganglioma cases have been previously reported, and to the best of our knowledge, this is the largest gangliocytic paraganglioma
Application of Handheld Tele-ECG for Health Care Delivery in Rural India
Telemonitoring is a medical practice that involves remotely monitoring patients who are not at the same location as the health care provider. The purpose of our study was to use handheld tele-electrocardiogram (ECG) developed by Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC) to identify heart conditions in the rural underserved population where the doctor-patient ratio is low and access to health care is difficult. The objective of our study was clinical validation of handheld tele-ECG as a screening tool for evaluation of cardiac diseases in the rural population. ECG was obtained in 450 individuals (mean age 31.49 ± 20.058) residing in the periphery of Chandigarh, India, from April 2011 to March 2013, using the handheld tele-ECG machine. The data were then transmitted to physicians in Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, for their expert opinion. ECG was interpreted as normal in 70% individuals. Left ventricular hypertrophy (9.3%) was the commonest abnormality followed closely by old myocardial infarction (5.3%). Patient satisfaction was reported to be ~95%. Thus, it can be safely concluded that tele-ECG is a portable, cost-effective, and convenient tool for diagnosis and monitoring of heart diseases and thus improves quality and accessibility, especially in rural areas
Impact of emotional intelligence on the job performance of employee
Emotional intelligence means understanding one’s own feelings and able to handle those feelings without disturbing themselves. In the same way, understanding what others feel and handling relationship effectively motivates one to complete job creatively and perform among their peers. Stress Management is a system that is aimed to reduce the stress and/or facilitate the person to cope with stress related instances. This study uses both primary and secondary data. The primary data was collected through a questionnaire which is depending on the Liker scale. The study confined to the sample size of 100 employees from five software industries namely HP, LENOVO, DELL, HCL & SONY, etc. Finally, the researcher finds the relationship between stress management and emotional intelligence. The study is concluded with the suggestion that the Emotional intelligence has the ability to quickly reduce stress in the various situations, so we can say that higher level of EI is positively correlated with the effectiveness of stress management among software employees
Invasive papillary carcinoma of the male breast: Report of a rare case and review of the literature
Breast masses occur in men far less commonly than women. Papillary
lesions of the male breast are rare and comprise a spectrum of lesions
ranging from benign intraductal papilloma to intraductal papillary
carcinoma and invasive papillary carcinoma. In this case report, a
78-year-old man presented with a subareolar painless mass. Fine needle
aspiration cytology (FNAC) was performed. Cytologic examination
revealed a cellular aspirate. A diagnosis of papillary lesion favoring
papillary carcinoma was rendered. The patient underwent modified
radical mastectomy, which showed invasive papillary carcinoma. As far
as we know, only a few cases of invasive papillary carcinoma of the
male breast have been published in the literature. To the best of our
knowledge, this is the first case report of invasive papillary
carcinoma of male breast in Malaysia. In this purview, we discuss
papillary carcinoma of male breast with review of the relevant
literature

Turbid serum in a patient of acute lymphoblastic leukemia on treatment-What to look for?
Splenic infarct as a diagnostic pitfall in radiology
Follow-up of colorectal carcinoma after therapy is based on symptoms,
tumor markers, and imaging studies. Clinicians sometimes face
diagnostic dilemmas because of unusual presentations on the imaging
modalities coupled with rising serum markers. We report a case of
colorectal carcinoma that presented with gastrointestinal symptoms 14
months after completion of treatment. Investigations showed rise in
carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA). Suspecting disease recurrence, complete
radioimaging workup was performed; the only abnormality detected was a
smooth, hypodense area in the posterior third of the spleen on
contrast-enhanced computed tomography abdomen. In view of the previous
diagnosis of carcinoma colon, the symptoms reported by the patient, the
elevated CEA, and the atypical CECT appearance, a diagnosis of splenic
metastasis was made. The patient was subjected to splenectomy as a
curative treatment. However, the histopathological report revealed it
to be a splenic infarct. The present case reemphasizes the limitations
of radiological studies in the follow-up of carcinoma colon
