New Solution for ICT/ELV Infrastructure Project Reporting Using Datalink Technique System

    Get PDF
In infrastructure project, a failure on reliable project reporting will lead to Variation Order (VO) and Project Delay issues. It is now a normal phenomenon, which leads to many negative effects such as lawsuits, claims, loss of productivity and revenue, which may also lead to contract termination. Hence, the research aims to develop a new solution system program, called Datalink Technique System (DTS) to solve the problems that occur in an infrastructure project. The objective is to eliminate the loss and reduce the project cost. However, it is not limited to that as in future it can also be applied to others. DTS introduces the new advanced technologies system solution and reliable, yet it is still consistent with the current approach to manage the project. The program produces data/information correctly and precisely

ETOU electricity tariff for manufacturing load shifting strategy using ACO algorithm

    Get PDF
This paper presents load shifting strategy for cost reduction on manufacturing electricity demand side, by which a real test load profile had been used to prove the concept. Superior bio-inspired algorithm, Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) had been implemented to optimize the upright load profile of load shifting strategy in the Malaysia Enhance Time of Use (ETOU) tariff condition. Subsequently, significant simulation results of operation profit gain through 24 hours electricity consumption had been analyzed properly. The proposed method had shown reduction of approximately 6% of the electricity cost at peak and mid peak zones, when 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100% load shifting weightages were applied to the identified 10% controlled loads consequently. It is hoped that the finding of this study can help poise the manufacturers to switch to ETOU tariff as well as support the national Demand Side Management (DSM) program

Currently, Pap test is the most popular and effective test for cervical cancer. However, Pap test does not always produce good diagnostic performance. This problem has encouraged several studies to develop diagnosis system based on neural networks to increase the diagnostic performance

Performance of four-stage cascaded fiber optical parametric amplifier (FOPA) using optisystem

An optical fiber plays a significant role to cater the increasing transmission capacity. In optical fiber, there is a few nonlinear effects. One of the nonlinear effects is four-wave mixing (FWM). In-depth analysis of FWM is conducted and it is found that one of the applications in the FWM is a fiber optical parametric amplifier (FOPA). An FOPA has an ability to achieve a high gain and bandwidth. One of the approaches is a cascaded FOPA. A cascaded FOPA is a FOPA with two or more active media, commonly known as a highly nonlinear fiber (HNLF). Previous experimental work shows that the improvement in gain and bandwidth of the cascaded FOPA depends on the passive or active devices inserted in between the HNLF. However, the results at each stage of the cascaded FOPA are not discussed. The result at each stage is crucial to ensure that the cascaded FOPA is amplifying power at the respective stage which is the essence of this work. The cascaded FOPA is demonstrated by using an OptiSystem software with four stages of HNLF with different parameters. Two research work related to the cascaded FOPA are presented in this thesis. The first work focusses on the effects of pump dithering to the cascaded FOPA, while the second work discusses the effects of passive components to cascaded FOPA. The passive components selected are isolator and optical bandpass filter (OBPF). The results show that the FOPA with pump dithering can achieved the gain up to 27 dB, while without pump dithering, only 9 dB gain is achieved. For the performance of the cascaded FOPA with isolators, a high gain of 30 dB is obtained, while the cascaded FOPA with OBPFs, a wider bandwidth of 36 nm is obtained. In conclusion, the pump dithering and isolator can be used to achieved a high gain of FOPA and OBPF can be used to obtain a wider bandwidth of FOPA

Frontonasal dysplasia Sequence : A case report

    Get PDF
Frontonasal dysplasia (FND) is a very rare congenital abnormality in which the mid face does not develop normally. It affects mainly the head and face. Cause is unknown but may be sporadic or familial. We report a rare case of a full term baby who presented with classical features of FND in Maiduguri, Nigeria. Management difficulty in resource limited setting is highlighted.Key words: Dysmorphism, Frontonasaldysplasia, Neonate

Evaluation of earth fault location algorithm in medium voltage distribution network with correction technique

    Get PDF
This paper focused on studying an algorithm of earth fault location in the medium voltage distribution network. In power system network, most of the earth fault occurs is a single line to ground fault. A medium voltage distribution network with resistance earthing at the main substation and an earth fault attached along the distribution network is modeled in ATP Draw. The generated earth fault is simulated, and the voltage and current signal produced is recorded. The earth fault location algorithm is simulated and tested in MATLAB. The accuracy of the earth fault location algorithm is tested at several locations and fault resistances. A possible correction technique is explained to minimize the error. The results show an improvement fault location distance estimation with minimum error

Performance Analysis of TOA-based Positioning in LTE by utilizing MIMO Feature

    Get PDF
This paper presents the performance analysis of a TOA-based positioning in LTE by utilizing MIMO feature. In this work, the wireless channels between the mobile terminal (MT) and eNodeBs are modeled by using a geometric-based stochastic channel models in WINNER II to measure the propagation delay. Then, the location of the MT is estimated by using the geometric-based multiple linear line of position (MLLOP) technique. We focus the analysis on the typical urban microcell scenario (B1 Hotspot) with three fixed-located eNodeBs and a randomly located mobile terminal. The simulation works are executed in both LOS and NLOS conditions. We compare the performance of MIMO feature utilization to SISO antenna configuration system based on root mean square error. The results show that utilizing MIMO feature enhances the estimation accuracy. The number of antenna elements at the receiver and transmitter greatly influence the estimation accuracy of MT’s position. The best performance is achieved by utilizing MIMO 4x4 configuration that gives the estimation error of less than 18m and 25m for 67% and 90% of the time respectively
