    Performance Models for Split-execution Computing Systems

    Split-execution computing leverages the capabilities of multiple computational models to solve problems, but splitting program execution across different computational models incurs costs associated with the translation between domains. We analyze the performance of a split-execution computing system developed from conventional and quantum processing units (QPUs) by using behavioral models that track resource usage. We focus on asymmetric processing models built using conventional CPUs and a family of special-purpose QPUs that employ quantum computing principles. Our performance models account for the translation of a classical optimization problem into the physical representation required by the quantum processor while also accounting for hardware limitations and conventional processor speed and memory. We conclude that the bottleneck in this split-execution computing system lies at the quantum-classical interface and that the primary time cost is independent of quantum processor behavior.Comment: Presented at 18th Workshop on Advances in Parallel and Distributed Computational Models [APDCM2016] on 23 May 2016; 10 page

    Effects of CARO on Stimulus Equivalence: A Systematic Replication

    n two experiments, we examined the disruptive effects of a can\u27t answer response option (CARO) on equivalence formation. The first experiment was a systematic replication of Duarte, Eikeseth, Rosales- Ruiz, and Baer (1998), in which participants in a CARO group and a No- CARO group performed conditional discrimination tasks with stimuli using a paper- and- pencil format for training and testing of equivalence relations. The presence of the CARO led to the nonemergence of equivalence classes. In the second experiment, participants performed conditional discrimination tasks using standard matching- to- sample training and testing procedures on a computer with CARO available only during testing. Equivalence yields were also low, with participants using CARO more on transitive and equivalence trials than on symmetry trials. The results support previous reports of equivalence disruption by nonresponse options such as CARO and suggest directions for further research

    Thermotolerance of an inactivated rabies vaccine for dogs

    This study provides the first robust data that the antibody response of dogs vaccinated with Nobivac® Rabies vaccine stored for several months at high temperatures (up to 30 °C) is not inferior to that of dogs vaccinated with vaccine stored under recommended cold-chain conditions (2–8 °C). A controlled and randomized non-inferiority study was carried out comparing the four-week post vaccination serological responses of Tanzanian village dogs inoculated with vaccine which had been stored at elevated temperatures for different periods of time with those of dogs vaccinated with the same product stored according to label recommendations. Specifically, the neutralizing antibody response following the use of vaccine which had been stored for up to six months at 25 °C or for three months at 30 °C was not inferior to that following the use of cold-chain stored vaccine. These findings provide reassurance that the vaccine is likely to remain efficacious even if exposed to elevated temperatures for limited periods of time and, under these circumstances, it can safely be used and not necessarily destroyed or discarded. The availability of thermotolerant vaccines has been an important factor in the success of several disease control and elimination programs and could greatly increase the capacity of rabies vaccination campaigns to access hard to reach communities in Africa and Asia. We have not confirmed a 3-year duration of immunity for the high temperature stored vaccine, however because annual re-vaccination is usually practiced for dogs presented for vaccination during campaigns in Africa and Asia this should not be a cause for concern. These findings will provide confidence that, for rabies control and elimination programs using this vaccine in low-income settings, more flexible delivery models could be explored, including those that involve limited periods of transportation and storage at temperatures higher than that currently recommended

    Jaringan Internet sudah merupakan suatu kebutuhan untuk setiap Negara berkembang, semua itu terkendala ketika bermasalah pada suatu jaringan Internet seperti link disconect maupun down hingga terputusnya jaringan Internet. Permasalahan tersebut akan menjadi suatu hal yang sangat menyusahkan bagi pengguna Internet ketika pengguna sedang dalam keadaan penting atau pada jam-jam kerja yang sangat tergantung pada koneksi Internet dan kemudian koneksi terputus.Pengembangan proxy server dan load balancing dilakukan tahapan penelitian yang terdiri dari analisa sistem dilanjutkan dengan perancangan sistem yang meliputi perancangan topologi, perancangan server, dan perancangan sistem kemudian pengujian penelitian digunakan uji validasi oleh user Shmily.net. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian proxy dan load balancing memperlihatkan bahwa kedua koneksi yang berasal dari dua ISP Speedy dapat berjalan secara bersamaan dan akan otomatis berganti ketika salah satu koneksi terputus dan berjalan normal secara bersamaan ketika kedua koneksi tidak bermasalah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa sistem load balancing dan proxy server merupakan solusi untuk kebutuhan Internet secara real time

    Listening skills are one of the four skills that must be mastered in learning German. In order to achieve a learning goal, the teachermust be able to manage the existing learning environment. The learning media in question is an Android-based learning media in theform of a "Dimosa" digital application, to improve listening skills in German. Of the many methods of learning found a method ofusing "Dimosa" media that simplifies and speeds up learning. Android-based learning media in the form of a "Dimosa" digitalapplication was chosen because the use of this media is very easy and practical so that it can be used anytime and anywhere. Theformulation of the problem in this research is how Android-based learning media in the form of Dimosa digital applications forlistening skills can assist in the learning process of teaching German in Buduran 2 Vocational High School grade X semester 1. Thepurpose of this study is to manufacture and develop learning media in the form of digital applications "Dimosa" is an Android-basedapplication that is feasible to be applied as a learning media for listening skills in German Language Vocational High School2 Buduran class X semester 1. This type of research is R&D (Research andDevelopment) which is described qualitatively.Dimosa media obtained from the questionnaire results of material experts and media experts. The results of this study indicate thatDimosa media can be applied in learning German listening skills for students in class X Semester 1 of SMK 2 Buduran.Learning techniques using Dimosa media have an influence on listening skills in Class X Semester 1 student of Buduran 2Vocational High School, this can be proven from the evaluation results obtained from the results of material and media expertvalidation. Based on the results of the data analysis technique, it is known that the results of the presentation or the value of themedia feasibility have been fulfilled both normally and visually by <80%, which means it is very feasible. Thus it can beconcluded that Dimosa media has a significant influence on listening skills in class X Semester 1 student of SMK 2 Buduran.     ABSTRACTPharmaceutical Service Standards in Pharmacies are enforced to ensure the quality of pharmaceutical services. Pharmaceutical services also aim to protect patients and the public from irrational use of drugs in the context of patient safety. The purpose of this study was to determine the suitability of the application of pharmaceutical service standards at pharmacies in Kotamobagu City with Minister of Health Regulation No. 73 of 2016 concerning Pharmaceutical Service Standards in pharmacies. This type of research is descriptive research. Data collected by direct observation and accompanied by filling out questionnaires. The data obtained in the form of management and service data that were scored were then classified into three categories, namely Good, Enough and Less. The results showed that in the aspect of managing resources, facilities and infrastructure 2 pharmacies are in the good category, in managing supplies there were 7  pharmacies in the good category. In the aspect of service implementation, 6 pharmacies are in the good category. Pelayanan kefarmasian juga bertujuan untuk melindungi pasien dan masyarakat dari penggunaan Obat yang tidak rasional dalam rangka keselamatan pasien (patient safety). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kesesuaian penerapan standar pelayanan kefarmasian di apotek di kota kotamobagu  dengan Permenkes No.73 Tahun 2016 tentang Standar Pelayanan Kefarmasian di apotek. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan observasi langsung dan disertai dengan pengisian kuisioner. Data yang diperoleh berupa data pengelolaan dan pelayanan yang di lakukan skoring kemudian digolongkan menjadi tiga kategori yaitu Baik, Cukup dan Kurang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada aspek pengelolaan sumber daya dan  fasilitas sarana dan prasarana terdapat 2 apotek yang masuk dalam kategori baik, pada pengelolaan perbekalan terdapat 7 apotek dalam kategori baik. Pada aspek pelaksanaan pelayanan 6 apotek masuk dalam kategori baik. Kesimpulannya yaitu apotek-apotek di Kota Kotamobagu sudah melakukan pelayanan kefarmasian dengan baik sesuai dengan Standar Pelayanan Kefarmasian di Apotek. Kata Kunci: Apotek, Standar Pelayanan Kefarmasian di Apotek, Kota Kotambag

    Discrete adjoint for coupled conjugate heat transfer

    The typical method to solve multi-physics problems such as Conjugate Heat Transfer (CHT) is the partitioned approach which couples separate solvers through boundary conditions. Effective gradient-based optimisation of partitioned CHT problems requires the adjoint of the coupling to maintain the efficiency of the original multi-physics coupling, which is a significant challenge. The use of automatic differentiation (AD) has the potential to ease this burden and leads to generic gradient computation methods. In this paper, we present how to automate the generation of adjoint fluid and solid solvers for a CHT adjoint using Automatic Differentiation (AD). The derivation of the adjoint of the loose coupling algorithms is shown for three fixed-point coupling algorithms. Application of the coupled adjoint algorithm is shown to two CHT optimisation benchmark cases for inverse design and shape optimisation. The results demonstrate that Robin-based coupling algorithms have faster runtimes and are an attractive option for CHT optimisation problems

    Rancang Bangun Sistem Pakar Diagnosis Gangguan Preferensi Seksual Menggunakan Metode Certainty Factor pada Institusi Kepolisian

    A sexual preference disorder or Paraphilia is a deviate act that is hidden by the subject. It appears to be ignoring or hurting other people. Currently, Police institutions have implemented ways to know about this sexual abnormality. However, in the identification process there are similar symptoms that leads to the same conclution of the specific kind of paraphilia. In this case, it can cause a mistake in determining the type of sexual preference disorder along with the limitation to psychology staff and time limitation also made the solution to the case to be delayed. Based on the problems above, then the expert system is made that can help part of the psychology especially to those who do not have a clinical background to diagnose this sexual preference disorder to expedite the process of the psychological test and not to delay the settlement of the case. The certainty factor expert system will identify every symptom that is experienced by the problematic person, and the system will produce a diagnosis of sexual preference disorder result towards the problematic person. The trial result of the expert system application shows that the system is capable to identify the type of the disturbance in sexual preference with the accuracy of 93, 3%. The following result is made based on the input that is given by the user and compared with the diagnose result that is been done by police expert clinical psychology in the amount of 15 cases
