    Keefektifan Manajemen Perpustakaan Daerah Kabupaten Banyumas

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk mengetahui keefektifan manajemen perpustakaan daerah Kabupaten Banyumas yang meliputi tahap perencanaan, pengorganisasian, penggerakan dan evaluasi penyelenggaraan perpustakaan daerah Kabupaten Banyumas. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Informan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari Kepala Kantor Perpustakaan dan Arsip Daerah Kabupaten Banyumas; Pengelola dan Pengunjung Perpustakaan Daerah Kabupaten Banyumas. Sumber informasi dalam penelitian ini adalah para pengunjung dan pengelola Perpustakaan Daerah Kabupaten Banyumas. Adapun sampel yang digunakan untuk pengunjung Perpustakaan Daerah Kabupaten Banyumas adalah sampling insidental. Teknik dan instrumen pengumpulan data dengan wawancara, pengamatan, dokumentasi, dan angket. Untuk teknis analisis data dengan teknik deskriptif kuantitatif dalam bentuk persentase yang diolah dengan menggunakan bantuan komputer lewat Program SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keefektifan manajemen perpustakaan daerah Kabupaten Banyumas sudah efektif. Secara rinci dapat dijelaskan bahwa: (1) tahap perencanaan yang dilihat dari penyusunan rencana strategis organisasi perpustakaan daerah sudah efektif, (2) tahap pengorganisasian dilihat dari sumberdaya manusia yang bertugas mengelola perpustakaan daerah, sarana dan prasarana untuk mendukung perpustakaan daerah, dan kelengkapan koleksi perpustakaan daerah sudah efektif, (3) tahap penggerakan yaitu dilihat dari pengelolaan dan layanan Perpustakaan sudah efektif, dan (4) tahap evaluasi yaitu dilihat dari pengawasan dan evaluasi penyelenggaraan perpustakaan sudah efektif. Secara keseluruhan pada prinsipnya perpustakaan daerah sudah melaksanakan fungsi dan tujuan utama perpustakaan sebagai agen kultural bagi masyarakat, dengan berpedoman pada aturan, standar dan ketentuan yang telah ditetapkan

    GAMBARAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN TENTANG MAKANAN SEHAT PADA MURID KELAS 4-5 SD NEGERI MAGERSARI SIDOARJO

    Masih banyaknya anak usia sekolah yang sembarangan mengkonsumsi jajanan yang dijual di lingkungan sekolah tanpa mengetahui zat apa yang terkandung dalam jajanan tersebut. Data awal didapat dari 20 murid kelas 4 dan 5 semuanya tidak mengetahui tentang makanan sehat. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan tentang makanan sehat pada murid kelas 4-5 SD Negeri Magersari Sidoarjo. Metode penelitian deskriptif. Populasi penelitian semua murid kelas 4-5 SD Negeri Magersari Sidoarjo sebanyak 167 responden. Sampel sebanyak 117 responden. Teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu simple random sampling. Variabel penelitian adalah tingkat pengetahuan murid kelas 4-5 tentang makanan sehat. Instrumen dengan kuesioner. Hasil dari kuesioner ditabulasi dan selanjutnya dipresentasikan dalam bentuk tabel distribusi frekuensi dan narasi dalam bentuk prosentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar murid (62%) memiliki pengetahuan baik, hampir setengahnya (23%) memiliki pengetahuan cukup dan sebagian kecil (15%) memiliki pengetahuan kurang tentang makanan sehat. Simpulan penelitian adalah sebagian besar responden mempunyai pengetahuan baik tentang makanan sehat. Diharapkan pihak sekolah untuk mengembangkan usaha kantin sekolah guna meningkatkan konsumsi makanan sehat bagi para murid

    Cerita (Stories): A Pedagogical Model for Teaching Story Genres to Lower Secondary School Students in Indonesia

    Teacher professional learning programs often aim to support teachers to develop new knowledge or instructional practices in order to improve students’ learning outcomes. However, connecting these knowledge and skills to the teachers’ specific context remains a challenge. The gap is even wider in contexts of teaching English as a foreign language (EFL), such as Indonesia, where pedagogical frameworks adopted for English language curriculum have been developed for use in language settings a long way from most EFL situations (see Baker, 2016; Canagarajah, 2016; Chaaban, 2017). As such, the contents of professional learning are commonly perceived as propaganda for vested interests, and unrelated to local classroom realities (Fang, 2012). This study investigates the potential of a professional learning program based on genre theory (after Martin, 1985; Martin & Rose, 2008) a model that underpins the current English language curriculum for secondary school students in Indonesia. The design and implementation of the program in the study are drawn from Reading to Learn (R2L) (Rose & Martin, 2012), a scaffolded approach to literacy education that has developed from systemic functional theory as developed by Halliday and his colleagues (e.g. Halliday, 1975; Halliday & Matthiessen, 2014; Rose & Martin, 2012). The program described in this study offered workshops, supported pedagogy and ongoing dialogue to promote a story-oriented renovation of R2L, incorporating story sharing activities such as multimodal storytelling and scripted performances as an additional learning stage in order to enhance secondary students’ control of writing story genres in English

    PENGEMBANGAN LEMBAR KEGIATAN SISWA KEANEKARAGAMAN FUNGI DALAM MELATIHKAN KETERAMPILAN PROSES PADA SISWA KELAS X SMA

    Abstrak  Materi Fungi terdapat pada Kompetensi Dasar 3.6 dan 4.6, yaitu menuntut siswa untuk bisa mengklasifikasi dan mengkomunikasikan, sehingga perlu melatihkan keterampilan proses siswa. Oleh karena itu, LKS keanekaragaman Fungi dengan cara membuat dan menggunakan kunci dikotomi dapat digunakan dalam melatihkan keterampilan proses, yakni keterampilan mengamati, menginterpretasi, mengklasifikasi, dan mengkomunikasikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan dari validasi ahli dan hasil belajar keterampilan proses. Penelitian ini menggunakan model ­4D, namun tanpa dissaminate. Subjek penelitian adalah 25 siswa X Mat IA 6 SMAN 1 Magetan. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi ahli dan lembar performance test. Hasil data yang didapatkan dianalisis dengan skala Likert yang diinterpretasikan dalam skala modifikasi Riduwan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil validasi dikategorikan sangat layak dengan persentase 93,12% dan hasil keterampilan proses nilai rata-rata siswa 96,80 dengan kategori sangat baik dan 100% siswa tuntas.     FROM STORYTELLING TO STORY WRITING: THE IMPLEMENTATION OF READING TO LEARN (R2L) PEDAGOGY TO TEACH ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE IN INDONESIA

    It is widely acknowledged that the use of stories supports the development of literacy in the context of learning English as a first language. However, it seems that there are a few studies investigating this issue in the context of teaching and learning English as a foreign language.  This action-oriented case study aims to enhance students’ written narrative achievement through a pedagogical intervention that incorporates oral story sharing activities. In this paper, the intervention will be briefly described and the preliminary findings from the students’ written texts will be presented. This study which was conducted in a lower secondary school in Bandung Barat region, Indonesia implemented the intervention within eight learning periods. The intervention comprised the following stages: (1) preparing before reading (stories), (2) detailed reading, (3) joint rewriting, and (4) individual rewriting. Before and after the intervention, students’ narrative texts were collected and analysed in terms of how each text achieved its purpose, how it moved through stages and phases of meaning, the control of field, relationship with the reader and its coherence.  The preliminary findings indicate that there is a shift in students’ ability from writing fragmented and spoken-like language to more literate written narratives.   It is expected that this study which implemented R2L pedagogy in the Indonesian context will contribute to English language teaching in EFL contexts

    GENDER CONSTRUCTION IN VISUAL IMAGES IN TEXTBOOKS FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

    Abstract: In the Indonesian context, little has been done to raise awareness of political correctness in gender matters in school textbooks.  As an attempt to fill this gap, I conducted a textual analysis on four English language textbooks used in Indonesian primary schools.  The focus of the study was on the pictorial texts accompanying the linguistic ones.  The ‘Visual Grammar’, developed by Kress and van Leeuwen, was used as the framework of analysis. The results showed that the illustrations accompanying linguistic texts fortified the representations of gender asymmetry.  Females were depicted more dependent than males and were also construed to be admirers of an action carried out by the males. The study recommended conscious efforts to value both genders equally in visualization as meaning construction is multimodal. Keywords: gender construction, visual grammar, pictorial texts, EFL textbooks KONSTRUKSI GENDER DALAM CITRA VISUAL PADA BUKU TEKS UNTUK SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR Abstrak:Di Indonesia, upaya penyadaran pentingnya isu penyetaraan gender dalam buku ajar sekolah masih belum banyak dilakukan. Untuk itu, penelitian ini dilakukan sebagai salah satu cara penyadaran isu gender dengan menginvestigasi representasi gender dalam buku ajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis teks terhadap empat buku ajar yang digunakan di sekolah dasar. Fokus analisisnya adalah pada gambar ilustrasi yang menyertai teks tertulis seperti bagian bacaan. Gambar tersebut dianalisis dengan menggunakan teori ‘Visual Grammar’ yang dikembangkan oleh Kress dan van Leeuween. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa gambar-gambar tersebut merepresentasikan ketidaksetaraan gender. Perempuan digambarkan sebagai sosok yang tergantung pada orang lain dibandingkan laki-laki yang mandiri dan mereka berlaku sebagai pengagum pekerjaan yang dilakukan laki-laki. Berdasarkan hasil temuannya, penelitian ini merekomendasikan upaya yang lebih serius dalam menampilkan peran gender yang seimbang dan tidak hanya ditampilkan dalam teks tulis namun juga dalam gambar karena pada dasarnya makna dikonstruksi secara multimodal. Katakunci:konstruksi gender, visual grammar, teks gambar

    Factors Associated with Wound Healing Post Sectio Caesarea at Arifin Achmad General Hospital Riau Province in 2013

    Post Sectio Caesarea wound is a wound that made an impression and is caused by cesarean when a woman can not give birth main normal. Prinsip in wound care is the control of infection because infection can inhibit wound healing, causing morbidity and mortality increase. This study aims to determine the factors associated with wound healing post sectio caesareadi Arifin Achmad Riau Province in 2013. This research is quantitative research using cross sectional study design. The location of research is Arifin Achmad Riau Province, the research was conducted in October-May 2014. The population in this study is the status of the mother\u27s Medical Record sectio caesarea in 2013 amounted to 910 people with a sample of 154 people. Systematic sampling technique is random sampling. The data used in this research is secondary data is data mothers delivered in SC, age, mother of data with infection and disease history data. Data analysis for bivariate with Chi-Square test.  The results show for the factors associated with wound healing post sectio caesarea is variable risk age 79 (51.3%), OR = 2.91 (95% CI: 1.50 to 5.65), maternal variables 83 infections (53.9%), OR = 6.59 (95% CI: 3.24 to 13.41), and a mother who suffered variables Diabetes 80 (51.90%), OR = 3.06 ( 95% CI: 1.57 to 5.94). The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship of age, infection and diabetes mellitus with wound healing post sectio caesarea. Expected to health professionals in order to further improve the education and information about wound care operations, and better monitor the healing of wounds with age and history of diabetes mellitus yan suffered by the patient.&nbsp

    Factors Associated with Cervical Cancer Incidence Arifin Achmad Hospital in Pekanbaru Year 2008-2010

    Cervical cancer is a primary Malignant tumor derived from epithelial cells of cervical squamous or cervix. The most common cause of cervical cancer is infection with HPV (Human Papilloma Virus), several factors are thought to increase the incidence of cervical cancer is sosiodemografis factors which include age, socioeconomic status, and sexual activity of factors that include age at first intercourse, partner change sex -replace, parity, lack of genital hygiene, smoking, history of venereal disease, chronic trauma to the cervix, as well as the use of hormonal contraceptives. The purpose of this study are known risk factors associated with cervical cancer incidence in Arifin Achmad Riau Province Year 2008-2010. This type of study is a case-control (case control study). The case of women with cervical cancer who were treated at the Arifin Achmad Riau Province, and control of cervical cancer Women are not treated at the Arifin Achmad Riau Province. The results of this study showed women with heavy work more at risk for developing cervical cancer 9 times compared with women who have jobs lightweight (OR 9,184), low-educated women four times more likely to suffer from cervical cancer compared with women who are highly educated (OR 3,698), female age at first intercourse less than 20 years 3 times higher risk of cervical cancer compared to women with age at first sexual intercourse (OR 2,792)and women above 20 years who had parity> 3 children dibandingakn 7 times greater risk to women with a parity <3 children (OR 3,396). As Conclusions,  occupation, education, age of first sexual intercourse and parity have based on the results of multivariate analysis of independent variables that have a causal relationship with the incidence of cervical cancer is work, education, age at first sexual intercourse and parity. Independent variables that have no causal relationship with the incidence of cervical cancer is are sexual partners. And independent of confounding variables by are kejadaian incidence of cervical cancer is the use of hormonal contraception, sexually transmitted diseases and age.     EXPLORING STUDENTS‘ VIEWS ON THE APPLICATION OF INDEPENDENT CURRICULUM FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN NATURAL SCIENCE SUBJECT

    Abstract This study explored students' views on applying the independent curriculum in natural science subject. The method used was descriptive qualitative. The sample was fourth-grade students of Islamic Elementary School (IES) Salsabila Yogyakarta, selected using a purposive sampling technique. The instruments used were questionnaires and interviews. Data analysis used an interactive model, namely the reduction stages, data presentation, and conclusion. The findings of this study indicated that the fourth-grade students of IES Salsabila Yogyakarta responded positively to natural science learning, combined with social studies, to become Natural and Social Science (NSS). NSS gives students holistic knowledge so they get complete learning, hoping to make themselves individuals with a stand-in dealing with a problem. Therefore, it is expected that the application of the independent curriculum in natural science subject can be facilitated with media that support learning. Socialization or technical guidance for educators is needed in manufacturing innovative media to make this happen
