CP violation in modified bipair neutrino mixing and leptogenesis
We study effects of CP violation in a modified bipair neutrino mixing scheme
predicting near both 0.4 and 0.6 currently consistent with
experimentally allowed values. The source of CP violation is supplied by
charged lepton mixing accompanied by a single phase, whose mixing size is
assumed to be less than that of the Wolfenstein parameter for the quark mixing.
Including results of leptogenesis, which is based on the minimal seesaw model,
we obtain the allowed region of CP-violating Dirac and Majorana phases, which
provides the observed baryon asymmetry of the universe in the case of the Dirac
neutrino mass matrix subject to one zero texture.Comment: 5 pages, 30 figures, accepted for publication in Physics Letters
Fuzzy -ideals of hemirings
A characterization of an -hemiregular hemiring in terms of a fuzzy
-ideal is provided. Some properties of prime fuzzy -ideals of
-hemiregular hemirings are investigated. It is proved that a fuzzy subset
of a hemiring is a prime fuzzy left (right) -ideal of if and
only if is two-valued, , and the set of all in
such that is a prime (left) right -ideal of . Finally, the
similar properties for maximal fuzzy left (right) -ideals of hemirings are
considered
Technical Note: Solid Wood Properties of Eucalyptus Camaldulensis Planted for Pulpwood Production in Thailand
Solid wood properties of two Eucalyptus camaldulensis clones (clone A and clone B), derived from different pulp and paper companies and planted in Thailand for pulpwood production, were investigated to evaluate the possibility for lumber production. Clone A had significantly higher Young's modulus, greater density, and straighter grain compared with clone B. These results suggest that some clones may have more favorable properties for lumber production than others. Thus, wood properties should be included in clonal trials and early testing of this species
Characterizations of hemirings by their -ideals
In this paper we characterize hemirings in which all -ideals or all fuzzy
-ideals are idempotent. It is proved, among other results, that every
-ideal of a hemiring is idempotent if and only if the lattice of fuzzy
-ideals of is distributive under the sum and -intrinsic product of
fuzzy -ideals or, equivalently, if and only if each fuzzy -ideal of
is intersection of those prime fuzzy -ideals of which contain it. We
also define two types of prime fuzzy -ideals of and prove that, a
non-constant -ideal of is prime in the second sense if and only if each
of its proper level set is a prime -ideal of
Systematic study of the SO(10) symmetry breaking vacua in the matrix model for type IIB superstrings
We study the properties of the space-time that emerges dynamically from the
matrix model for type IIB superstrings in ten dimensions. We calculate the free
energy and the extent of space-time using the Gaussian expansion method up to
the third order. Unlike previous works, we study the SO(d) symmetric vacua with
all possible values of d within the range , and observe clear
indication of plateaus in the parameter space of the Gaussian action, which is
crucial for the results to be reliable. The obtained results indeed exhibit
systematic dependence on d, which turns out to be surprisingly similar to what
was observed recently in an analogous work on the six-dimensional version of
the model. In particular, we find the following properties: i) the extent in
the shrunken directions is given by a constant, which does not depend on d; ii)
the ten-dimensional volume of the Euclidean space-time is given by a constant,
which does not depend on d except for d = 2; iii) The free energy takes the
minimum value at d = 3. Intuitive understanding of these results is given by
