Development and integration of environmental evaluation tools for the ecodesign of sustainable processes and products

Industry is recognized as one of the main sources of environmental pollution and resource depletion, both causing environmental degradation; nonetheless, its contribution to development and wealth creation is also acknowledged. Therefore, the identification of sustainable options in this area is a key factor. Nowadays, the attitude towards pollution prevention and control and cleaner production is not just a response to emerging environmental laws and regulations (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals -REACH-, Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control –IPPC- Law, Integrated Product Policy –IPP-), but also a matter of corporate responsibility. Further, it has proved to be a way to increase profits. The sustainability definition has received certain criticism for its vagueness, ambiguity and difficulty to translate this concept at different levels. To overcome the difficulties of its implementation, a wide variety of indicators have been developed and applied over the years, providing metrics essential at the action level. This thesis poses a contribution to the development of environmental evaluation tools adapted to particular production sectors, aiming at providing metrics to guide decision making for the ecodesign of sustainable processes and products. Integrative frameworks that combine methodologies of different nature were proposed as the most suitable way to achieve comprehensive evaluations. At the same time, the simplicity of tools was pursued to make its application easier and more attractive for enterprises, avoiding the need of in depth training

Educational Microblogging for Language Learning: A Systematised Review of Research Publications between 2010 and 2018

En la enseñanza-aprendizaje de idiomas, algunas formas de comunicación en línea como el microblogging están ganando relevancia, especialmente desde la aparición de las escalas para medir y evaluar la interacción online recomendadas por el Consejo de Europa (2018). En este artículo, se presenta una revisión sistematizada sobre el microblogging en la enseñanza-aprendizaje de idiomas. Siguiendo las pautas de actuación del marco metodológico SALSA (Grant & Booth, 2009), se seleccionaron 18 artículos con el objetivo de explorar el tipo de investigaciones sobre microblogging realizado entre los años 2010- 2018 y el impacto que tiene esta herramienta en la competencia lingüística del estudiante y en los procesos de enseñanza-aprendizaje. Los resultados obtenidos corroboran la utilidad del microblogging para el desarrollo de la competencia lingüística. No obstante, dichos resultados deben tomarse con cautela, puesto que 11 de las 18 investigaciones analizadas aportan datos sobre la adquisición autopercibida del estudiante. Las conclusiones informan sobre los beneficios del microblogging en relación a la competencia lingüística, especialmente sus componentes léxicos, semánticos y gramaticales. La utilización del microblogging permite aprendizajes contextualizados, auténticos e informales y una ruptura con los límites espacio-temporales.In language teaching and learning, some types of communication, such as microblogging, are becoming more important – especially since the Council of Europe (2018) introduced scales to measure and evaluate online interaction. This article presents a systematised review of microblogging in language teaching and learning. Following the SALSA Framework stages (Grent & Booth, 2009), 18 articles were selected with the objective of exploring the research on microblogging carried out between 2010 and 2018, and the impact that this tool has on both the learners’ linguistic competence and the teachinglearning process. The results obtained inform about the usefulness of microblogging in the development of linguistic competence. Yet, these results should be taken with caution, as 11 out of the 18 revised articles are based on the learners’ self-perceived acquisition. The conclusions indicate the benefits of microblogging for linguistic competence and, more specifically, for three of its components – lexical, semantic and grammatical competences. The use of microblogging favours contextualised, authentic and informal learning and the overcoming of space and time constraints

Desarrollo del enoturismo desde la perspectiva de las bodegas familiares

Wine tourism has potential to assist in the economic development of rural areas, as the tourism industry provides a number of additional destinations can generate additional value to the region. However, the wine industry and tourism do not always go hand in hand. The cellars, which constitute the core of the tourism product, must engage in the development of this type of tourism. But overall, the wine sector comprises small businesses, many of them family members, which follow a product orientation rather than a relational orientation. This research examines the perceptions that such a warehouse associate the effort to be performed to develop wine tourism.El turismo del vino posee potencial para colaborar en el desarrollo económico de las zonas rurales, ya que proporciona a la industria turística una serie de destinos adicionales y complementarios capaces de generar valor añadido a la región. Sin embargo, la industria del vino y la turística no van siempre de la mano. Las bodegas, que constituyen el elemento central del producto enoturístico, deben comprometerse en el desarrollo de este tipo de turismo. Pero, en general, el sector bodeguero está integrado por pequeñas empresas, muchas de ellas familiares, las cuales siguen una orientación producto más que una orientación relacional. Esta investigación analiza las percepciones que este tipo de bodegas asocian al esfuerzo que deben realizar para desarrollar turismo del vino

ANÁLISIS DE CONTENIDO DE LAS WEBS DE LAS BODEGAS ARAGONESAS COMO HERRAMIENTA DE MARKETING

Websites are a tool for wineries to achieve their business objectives more easily. It is analysed whether the wineries use this tool and, if so, the role it plays in their marketing strategy is investigated, taking into account the guidelines established in the literature. There is a high rate of websites, but content analysis shows that the most basic orientation (providing information) is predominant; followed by interactive communication, with transactional orientation showing little presence.Las webs constituyen una herramienta para que las bodegas puedan alcanzar más fácilmente sus objetivos de negocio. Se analiza si las bodegas utilizan esta herramienta y, en caso afirmativo, se investiga el papel que desempeña en su estrategia de marketing teniendo en cuenta las orientaciones establecidas en la literatura. Se observa una alta tasa de existencia de webs, pero el análisis de contenido muestra que la orientación más básica (proporcionar información) es la predominante; seguido de la comunicación interactiva, siendo la orientación transaccional la que muestra una escasa presencia

Prevalence of superficial interdigital mycosis in a runners section of the “Maraton Popular de Madrid”

In this study it was tried to evaluate the incidence of interdigital superficial mycosis (tinea pedis) in the participant runners in the Popular Marathon of Madrid. The evaluation consisted of a collection of observed data of the foot, together with a dermatological examination with Wood lamp in 4º interdigital space and takes mycological culture, to 66 individuals, runners with ridge in the MAPOMA. The obtained microbiological results were, Trichophytum and Yeast was the prevalent in the sample, and that are in many cases in association with another pathogen, and that almost 90% of the total sample presented 4º interdigital space pathogenic and/or polluting. Therefore, the tinea pedis and interdigital candidiasis, in sportsmen is a risk factor to consider on the part of the podologyst, since is present of silent form and in many occasions it does not have the suitable treatment.In this study it was tried to evaluate the incidence of interdigital superficial mycosis (tinea pedis) in the participant runners in the Popular Marathon of Madrid.
