    Get PDF
The current study aims at finding out the motivational orientations of the ESL students for studying English at public and private schools in Lahore city of Pakistan. Moreover, it also shows how these ESL students are distinguished on the grounds of their motivational orientations for learning English language. This study uses quantitative method for the collection and analysis of the data. The sample of the study is composed of 320 randomly selected ESL students studying at six different public and private schools in Lahore, Pakistan. The data are analyzed using SPSS version (19.0). The findings of this study show that promotion instrumentality is the most influential. Moreover, the motivational orientation of the ESL students studying at public school is promotion instrumentality and preventive instrumentality as they learn English for passing the exams or getting a job or getting higher education or avoiding negative outcomes. The private school ESL students have intrinsic and integrative motivation as they learn English for their positive attitude to the target community or the general interest in its culture or a wish to affiliate with the natives. This study implies that the difference in their motivational orientations is developed from the difference in education systems

Studying Variance Method of X-Ray Diffraction Line Profile Then Develop It to Three New Models for Determine New Parameters

    Get PDF
In this study have been determined the crystallite size and lattice strain of ZnO nanoparticles by using variance and have been developed the variance method by presenting three new models (UDVM, UDSVM and UDEDVM) to determine lattice parameters such as crystallite size, lattice strain, stress and energy density for the first time. In variance method we have calculated the values of crystallite size, mean square strain and lattice strain (22.276 nm), (0.133473 x 10-3) and (14.479619 x 10-3) respectively. We have calculated the values of crystallite size and lattice strain (22.276 nm) and (14.47962 x 10-3) respectively by using UDVM, the values of crystallite size, stress and lattice strain (22.276 nm), (3.7266 x 10-3 TPa) and (14.48006 x 10-3) respectively by using UDSVM and the values of crystallite size, stress, energy density & lattice strain (22.276 nm), (2.9957 x 10-3 TPa), (21689.7 KJ/m3) and (14.48024 x 10-3) respectively by using UDEDVM

In this study have been determined the crystallite size and lattice strain of ZnO nanoparticles as shown in Figure (1) by using variance and integral breadth methods, and also used some other methods such as Scherrer and Williamson-Hall to calculate above parameters. In variance method we have calculated the values of crystallite size, mean square strain and lattice strain are (22.276 nm), (0.133473 x 10-3) and (14.479 x 10-3) respectively, and the crystallite size is (25.126 nm) as well as the lattice strain is (2.443 x 10-3) by using integral breadth method. The other methods such as Scherrer which gives the value of crystallite size is (17.622 nm) and lattice strain is (6.036 x 10-3), while the Williamson-Hall gives the following values: crystallite size is (22.063 nm) and the lattice strain is (1.192 x 10-3). Online business is gaining momentum day by day in the world and in Bangladesh in general, the number of e-commerce businesses is constantly increasing which is the result of how the technology and how it is being done is getting better. Guided by the purpose of this study “Examining the importance of information quality, system quality and service quality of electronic commerce websites to the customer satisfaction and loyalty in Bangladesh”, research has conducted based on knowing the relationship between website quality and customer satisfaction and loyalty. With the help of 450 participants, this study found that young people participated in online shopping more than other categories of residents in Dhaka, the Capital city of Bangladesh where the survey was conducted. Another finding of this study is that both under-graduates and post-graduates are highly involved. Most online shoppers have shown that they do it at least once a month, with 37.8 percent doing it. To find out the relationship between (information quality, system quality, and service quality) and customer satisfaction and loyalty, SPSS (16.0) was used and the study found that all factors of website quality have a strong and direct relationship to satisfaction and loyalty of customers and results also find that satisfaction is closely related to loyalty. Current research has advised online business owners to pay close attention to all factors of website quality as they are more important factors in satisfying customers, attracting new customers and expanding or promoting e-commerce in general. Developing Islamic City through Network-of-Mosque (NoM)

    Get PDF
Learning from the history, our prophet used mosque to provide many activities and served as community centre for the purpose of society welfare. Today, we can find the mosque everywhere but its function were limited and only used for religious and spiritual purposes. Thus, this conceptual program will develop the Islamic City through Network of Mosque. Network of Mosque can be used to create centre for transformation which can provide the services to the society. These services will include community classes, zakat collection and distribution, halal certification, and eating place for the hungry and needy. This conceptual program introduces to improve the quality of service through strategic partnership between government, industry, and society which will result to raise the entrepreneurs and lead to the prosperity. This program offers Quadruple Helix Model (QHM) which involves the Government, Academia, Industry, and Citizen as the main actor for this program. Nine blocks of Business Model Canvas (BMC) framework and Literature Review used as the methodology for this paper. To achieve its goals, this program collaborates and synergize with the Whole of Government (WoG). The findings of this paper show that the Mosque can facilitate and serve the society better by harnessing Network of Mosque, which guide to the developing Islamic City

THE INHERITANCE OF YIELD AND YIELD COMPONENTS OF FIVE WHEAT HYBRID POPULATIONS UNDER DROUGHT CONDITIONS

    Get PDF
The magnitude of genetic inheritance and expected genetic advance are important for the prediction of response to selection in diverse environments and provide the basis for planning and evaluating breeding programs. This work investigated the inheritance of traits related to drought in wheat under natural drought conditions. Cross combinations were made to produce F1 and F2 hybrid populations, which were evaluated in a randomized completed block design with three replications at University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan. Six wheat varieties/lines and six derived F2 hybrids were studied to ascertain heritability and genetic advance for plant height, days taken to maturity, number of tillers per plant, spike length, number of grains per spike, 1000-grain weight, and grain yield per plant. Data were collected and subjected to statistical genetic analyses. Heritability estimates and expected genetic advance for plant height, days taken to maturity, number of tillers per plant, 1000-grain weight and grain yield per plant were high for the entire cross combinations while the estimates for spike length and number of grains per spike were relatively low. Our results suggest that improvement for these characters should be faster because of higher heritabilities and greater phenotypic variation. Prospects of genetic improvement for all the characters studied are evident. The most promising cross combinations were WL60 × LU26S and WL61 × LU26S. These traits, therefore, deserve better attention in future breeding programs for evolving better wheat for stress environments.
