Perceptions of Transactional and Transformational Leaders According to Gender
The lack of females occupying leadership positions in the modern workplace has prompted the research of this study. In order to better understand the perceptions that exist regarding successful leadership, this study was conducted with the intention of understanding individual leadership style through the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire, which measures transactional and transformational leadership styles (Bass and Avolio, 1993). 64 male and female participants, made up of 36 students and 28 individuals in the workforce ages 18-61 with an average age of 31 answered 21 questions to assess their leadership style and 1 to measure who they perceived as a successful leader, with responses coded by gender of responder and response. This study aimed to assess whether males identified more with transactional leadership and females with transformational leadership style, which would confirm current research conducted in the field. The Chi Squared statistical analysis test results showed that 72.4% of males displayed transformational leadership styles, along with 82.9% of females displaying this same style, which showed a lack of significance between gender and difference in leadership style. However, in response to the question asking to identify a successful leader, results showed that most individuals of both gender wrote down a male leader

Analysis of rolling bearing power loss models for twin screw oil injected compressor
The mechanical losses inside a screw compressor limit the performance of the compressor in terms of efficiency. These losses arise due to relative motion between elements inside the screw compressor. The estimation of mechanical losses predicted in the literature is around 10-15% of the total shaft power. One of the elements which contribute significantly to these losses is rolling element bearings. There are numerous mathematical models available which predict power losses in the rolling bearings. The objective of this paper is to study different models to predict power loss for rolling bearings and to predict the power losses for the bearings used for oil injected, twin screw compressor. A comparison between different power loss models for different operating conditions of compressor is also presented in this paper and results of analysis are compared with available experimental observations. The analysis helps to determine suitable power loss model for different operating conditions and more realistic predictions of the power losses. This allows designers for more accurate estimation of the performance of screw compressors

On the Formation of Galaxy Halos: Comparing NGC 5128 and the Local Group Members
The metallicity distribution function (MDF) for the old red-giant stars in
the halo of NGC 5128, the nearest giant elliptical galaxy, is virtually
identical with the MDF for the old-disk stars in the LMC and also strongly
resembles the halo MDF in M31. These galaxies all have high mean halo
metallicities ( ~ -0.4$) with very small proportions of low-metallicity
stars. These observations reinforce the view that metal-rich halos are quite
normal for large galaxies of all types. Such systems are unlikely to have built
up by accretion of pre-existing, gas-free small satellite galaxies, unless
these satellites had an extremely shallow mass distribution (d log N / d log M
> -1). We suggest that the halo of NGC 5128 is more likely to have assembled
from hierarchical merging of gas-rich lumps in which the bulk of star formation

Doe productivity index (DPI) on wean weight refers to doe capability to wean kid in specificweight per year. So it's parameter could be used as selection tool to find the best doe as maternalresource. On that purpose, record of 30 PE doe in Dadapan Village, Sumberejo SubdistrictTanggamus Municipal, Lampung Province, were evaluated to determine doe productivity index.Evaluation were done in October-November 2013, which are included data ; Doe age. Kid bornweight, Type of offcpring, and corrected weaning weight. Parameters involved are: average weanweight (AWW), most probable producing ability (MPPA), reproduction efficiency (RE), and doeproductivity index (DPI), respectively.Data calculation show that AWW (kg), MPPA (kg), RE (%), and DPI (kg) are: 22,75±1,94 kg;22,75±0,15 kg; 94,78±8,80%, and 21,56±1,97 kg, respectively. On the other side, the best five DPIwere resulted by doe Q1 (26,66 kg), H1 (26,52 kg), O2 (24,23 kg), J1 (24,06 kg), and A1 (24,03kg). Hall Effect in the mixed state of moderately clean superconductors
The Hall conductivity in the mixed state of a clean () type-II
s-wave superconductor is determined from a microscopic calculation within a
quasiclassical approximation. We find that below the superconducting transition
the contribution to the transverse conductivity due to dynamical fluctuations
of the order parameter is compensated by the modification of the quasiparticle
contribution. In this regime the nonlinear behaviour of the Hall angle is
governed by the change in the effective quasiparticle scattering rate due to
the reduction in the density of states at the Fermi level. The connection with

The Impact of Heavy Load Carrying on Musculoskeletal Pain and Disability Among Women in Shinyanga Region, Tanzania.
BackgroundHeavy load carrying has been associated with musculoskeletal discomfort (MSD) and disability. However, there is a lack of research investigating this association in resource-constrained settings where heavy load carrying by women is common.ObjectivesWe assessed the impact of heavy load carrying on musculoskeletal pain and disability among women in Shinyanga Region, Tanzania, in an exploratory cross-sectional study.MethodsEligible participants were a convenience sample of women, at least 18 years of age, who passed a study recruitment site carrying a load. We collected information on load-carrying practices, including frequency and time spent carrying water, wood, agricultural products, coal, sand, or rocks, and measured the weight of the load carried at the time. Outcomes included self-reported MSDs, defined as experiencing pain lasting >3 days in the neck, head, back, knees, feet and/or ankles within the last 1 year, and related disability. Using multivariable logistic regression we assessed for associations between load carrying exposures and MSDs and disability.FindingsResults showed a high prevalence of MSDs across the body regions assessed and evidence to suggest a relationship of back pain and related disability with several measures of load-carrying, including duration, frequency, and weight. Multivariable analyses revealed associations of increased load carrying exposures with low back pain (LBP) and related disability, including statistically significant increases in odds of LBP with increasing weight, total duration of load carrying/week and cumulative loads/week.ConclusionsFindings indicate a substantial burden of MSDs and disability in this population of women who carry heavy loads daily. The extent of discomfort and disability increased with increasing exposure to various load-carrying measures, especially for LBP. Larger epidemiologic studies that definitively assess relationships of load carrying with MSDs and disability are warranted
Large-N theory of strongly commensurate dirty-bosons: absence of transition in two dimensions
The spherical limit of strongly commensurate dirty-bosons is studied
perturbatively at weak disorder and numerically at strong disorder in two
dimensions (2D). We argue that disorder is not perfectly screened by
interactions, and consequently that the ground state in the effective Anderson
localisation problem always remains localised. As a result there is only a
gapped Mott insulator phase in the theory. Comparisons with other studies and
the parallel with disordered fermions in 2D are discussed. We conjecture that
while for the physical cases N=2 (XY) and N=1 (Ising) the theory should have

Is global ozone recovering?
Thanks to the Montreal Protocol, the stratospheric concentrations of ozone-depleting chlorine and bromine have been declining since their peak in the late 1990s. Global ozone has responded: The substantial ozone decline observed since the 1960s ended in the late 1990s. Since then, ozone levels have remained low, but have not declined further. Now general ozone increases and a slow recovery of the ozone layer is expected. The clearest signs of increasing ozone, so far, are seen in the upper stratosphere and for total ozone columns above Antarctica in spring. These two regions had also seen the largest ozone depletions in the past. Total column ozone at most latitudes, however, does not show clear increases yet. This is not unexpected, because the removal of chlorine and bromine from the stratosphere is three to four times slower than their previous increase. Detecting significant increases in total column ozone, therefore, will require much more time than the detection of its previous decline. The search is complicated by variations in ozone that are not caused by declining chlorine or bromine, but are due, e.g., to transport changes in the global Brewer–Dobson circulation. Also, very accurate observations are necessary to detect the expected small increases. Nevertheless, observations and model simulations indicate that the stratosphere is on the path to ozone recovery. This recovery process will take many decades. As chlorine and bromine decline, other factors will become more important. These include climate change and its effects on stratospheric temperatures, changes in the Brewer–Dobson circulation (both due to increasing CO2), increasing emissions of trace gases like N2O, CH4, possibly large future increases of short-lived substances (like CCl2H2) from both natural and anthropogenic sources, and changes in tropospheric ozone
