Based on field observations of the numeracy skills of students is still low and teachers are still teaching methods that dominate and not varied. So that learning needs to be given in the form of imaginative play. This study aims to determine the effect of a treasure hunt game against the numeracy skills of children aged 4-5 years in TK Negeri Pembina 3 Pekanbaru. The sample used in this study 13 children. The data collection techniques were used that observation. Data were analyzed using t-test using SPSS 17.0. The study hypothesis is that there is a significant influence on numeracy skills of children after applying the game in search of treasure. It can be seen from the analysis of data obtained t = 9.814 and p = 0.001. Because p <0.05 it can be concluded that there are differences in math ability protege significant after applying the dancing game treasure in learning. So it means Ho rejected and Ha accepted which means there is a very significant difference between before and after the experiment by applying the game in search of treasure. As for the influence of the game in search of treasure of the numeracy skills of children aged 4-5 years Tk In State Trustees 3 Pekanbaru is (P) = 63.16%

Impairment of methyl cycle affects mitochondrial methyl availability and glutathione level in Down's Sindrome

In Down's syndrome there is evidence that increased gene expression coding for specific cystathionine beta-synthase translates directly into biochemical aberrations, which result in a biochemical and metabolic imbalance of the methyl status. This event is destined to impact mitochondrial function since methylation is a necessary event in mitochondria and relies on the availability and uptake of the methyl donor S-adenosylmethionine. Indeed mitochondrial dysfunctions have been widely described in Down's syndrome, but they have never been correlated to a possible mitochondrial methyl unbalance. In the present study we find that the mitochondrial levels of S-adenosylmethionine are reduced in Down's syndrome compared to control cells demonstrating the effect of the methyl unbalance on mitochondria. The possible role of methylation in mitochondria is discussed and some preliminary results on a possible methylation target are presented

This research is to describe: (a) the materialism of “Nyonya” in the script of play Nyonya-Nyonya by Wisran Hadi and (b) the impact of the materialism of “Nyonya” in the script of Nyonya-Nyonya by Wisran Hadi. This research is a qualitative research applying qualitative descriptive method. This research Data is a form of materialism and the impact of materialism of “Nyonya” in the script of play Nyonya-Nyonya by Wisran Hadi. The sources in this research are five scripts of drama: the winner of Competition Drama Script “Dewan Kesenian Jakarta”, 2003. The technic of gathering data is by reading the script of Nyonya-Nyonya by Wisran Hadi, then inventaring the data. Validating data is by performing detail description technic, data analysis technic, inventarizing data, interpretting data, and concluding and then writing the report. Based on the results of the research, it was concluded the following points. First, the materialism of “Nyonya” contained in the script of play Nyonya-Nyonya is “Nyonya” is oriented towards money and inheritance. Second, the impact of the materialism of “Nyonya” in the script of drama Nyonya-Nyonya by Wisran Hadi is the impact to herself and also the impact to her family. Third, Wisran Hadi has shown a today's moral crisis through the script of Nyonya-Nyonya

    Random Graph-Homomorphisms and Logarithmic Degree

A graph homomorphism between two graphs is a map from the vertex set of one graph to the vertex set of the other graph, that maps edges to edges. In this note we study the range of a uniformly chosen homomorphism from a graph G to the infinite line Z. It is shown that if the maximal degree of G is `sub-logarithmic', then the range of such a homomorphism is super-constant. Furthermore, some examples are provided, suggesting that perhaps for graphs with super-logarithmic degree, the range of a typical homomorphism is bounded. In particular, a sharp transition is shown for a specific family of graphs C_{n,k} (which is the tensor product of the n-cycle and a complete graph, with self-loops, of size k). That is, given any function psi(n) tending to infinity, the range of a typical homomorphism of C_{n,k} is super-constant for k = 2 log(n) - psi(n), and is 3 for k = 2 log(n) + psi(n)

The title compound, C10H8O2, is a precursor to an unusual bis-homoaromatic dication and to heterodiamantanes and other oxa-cage compounds. Two independent molecules, each of which is situated on a center of symmetry, comprise the unit cell. Both molecules are in nearly identical chair conformations

Stbd1-deficient mice display insulin resistance associated with enhanced hepatic ER-mitochondria contact

Starch binding domain-containing protein 1 (STBD1) is an endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-resident, glycogen-binding protein. In addition to glycogen, STBD1 has been shown to interact with several proteins implicated in glycogen synthesis and degradation, yet its function in glycogen metabolism remains largely unknown. In addition to the bulk of the ER, STBD1 has been reported to localize at regions of physical contact between mitochondria and the ER, known as Mitochondria-ER Contact sites (MERCs). Given the emerging correlation between distortions in the integrity of hepatic MERCs and insulin resistance, our study aimed to delineate the role of STBD1 in vivo by addressing potential abnormalities in glucose metabolism and ER-mitochondria communication associated with insulin resistance in mice with targeted inactivation of Stbd1 (Stbd1KO). We show that Stbd1KO mice at the age of 24 weeks displayed reduced hepatic glycogen content and aberrant control of glucose homeostasis, compatible with insulin resistance. In line with the above, Stbd1-deficient mice presented with increased fasting blood glucose and insulin levels, attenuated activation of insulin signaling in the liver and skeletal muscle and elevated liver sphingomyelin content, in the absence of hepatic steatosis. Furthermore, Stbd1KO mice were found to exhibit enhanced ER-mitochondria association and increased mitochondrial fragmentation in the liver. Nevertheless, the enzymatic activity of hepatic respiratory chain complexes and ER stress levels in the liver were not altered. Our findings identify a novel important role for STBD1 in the control of glucose metabolism, associated with the integrity of hepatic MERCs
