Examining signals of trust in criminal markets online
This study examines the signals of trust in stolen data advertisements by analysing the structural and situational factors that influence the type of feedback sellers receive. Specifically, this article explores the factors associated with positive and negative buyer feedback from the purchase of stolen credit card data in a series of advertisements from a sample of Russian and English language forums where individuals buy and sell personal information. The results of zero-inflated Poisson regression models suggest that the sellers may influence their likelihood of receiving feedback by specifying the type of payment mechanism, choosing the advertisement language and selecting the type of market they operate within. Direct Observation of the Fourth Star in the Zeta Cancri System
Direct imaging of the zeta Cnc system has resolved the fourth star in the
system, which is in orbit around zeta Cnc C. The presence of the fourth star
has been inferred for many years from irregularities in the motion of star C,
and recently from C's spectroscopic orbit. However, its mass is close to that
of C, making its non-detection puzzling. Observing at wavelengths of 1.2, 1.7,
and 2.2 microns with the adaptive-optics system of the CFHT, we have obtained
images which very clearly reveal star D and show it to have the color of an M2
star. Its brightness is consonant with its being two M stars, which are not
resolved in our observations but are likely to be in a short-period orbit,
thereby accounting for the large mass and the difficulty of detection at
optical wavelengths, where the magnitude difference is much larger. The
positions and colors of all four stars in the system are reported and are

Exploring how age influences sensory perception, thirst and hunger during the consumption of oral nutritional supplements using the check-all-that-apply methodology
The Check-all-that-apply (CATA) method has been widely used for the sensory characterisation of many different foods and beverages. However, this methodology has been rarely used with older adults. The aim of this study was to measure the effectiveness of the CATA methodology to investigate the differences in sensory perception of Oral Nutritional Supplements (ONS) between younger and community dwelling older adults over successive sips of a full volume of two ONS. The study also sought to measure the effects of ONS on thirst, hunger and fullness. 160 participants (eighty aged over 65 and eighty aged 18-35) evaluated two ONS over two different days. They consumed five 40âŻml aliquots of ONS amounting to one serving. After each 40âŻml they completed a CATA questionnaire, which recorded liking using a 9-point hedonic scale and hunger, fullness, desire, and thirst using 100âŻmm visual analogue scales. The results indicated significantly lower levels in hunger (pâŻâ€âŻ0.01) and thirst (pâŻâ€âŻ0.01) in the older cohort than the younger cohort. Significant differences in texture perception with age were also observed with the younger cohort selecting âWateryâ significantly more (pâŻâ€âŻ0.05) than the older cohort for ONS 1 and âThickâ and âViscousâ significantly more (pâŻâ€âŻ0.05) for ONS 2. The study showed that the CATA methodology is appropriate for use with older adults. The findings enhanced our understanding of how an older population experience ONS and drivers of âlikingâ. This information has the potential to enhance ONS adherence and ultimately improve the nutritional status of older people
Consumer Food Waste Behaviors in Relation to Open Date Label Misinterpretation
In the United States, the legal framework for product date labeling is minimal and varies across states. Manufacturers have the discretion to use any date label that they deem appropriate, and this lack of uniformity leaves room for misinterpretation by both retailers and consumers. Previous studies have examined consumer misinterpretation of date labels and how this lack of knowledge correlates to food waste behaviors. This study was aimed at understanding how consumers apply their knowledge about date labels to make decisions about purchasing and discarding food. The research was conducted via an intercept survey outside of a grocery store to obtain information directly from consumers. Survey results showed evidence that consumers often misunderstand the meaning of date labels, particularly âbest-byâ and âuse-by.â Results also revealed that lack of understanding varied among different age groups. Decisions about purchasing and discarding food seem to be connected more to the apparent quality of food from a sensory perspective, rather than to a direct and significant link between the date label and the safety or quality of the product
Tuning Low Temperature Physical Properties of CeNiGe by Magnetic Field
We have studied the thermal, magnetic, and electrical properties of the
ternary intermetallic system CeNiGe by means of specific heat,
magnetization, and resistivity measurements. The specific heat data, together
with the anisotropic magnetic susceptibility, was analyzed on the basis of the
point charge model of crystalline electric field. The \,=\,5/2 multiplet of
the Ce is split by the crystalline electric field (CEF) into three
Kramers doublets, where the second and third doublet are separated from the
first (ground state) doublet by 100\,K and
170\,K, respectively. In zero field CeNiGe exhibits an
antiferromangeic order below = 5.0\,K. For
\textbf{H}\,\,\textbf{a} two metamagnetic transitions are clearly
evidenced between 2\,\,4\,K from the magnetization isotherm and extended
down to 0.4\,K from the magnetoresistance measurements. For
\textbf{H}\,\,\textbf{a}, shifts to lower temperature as
magnetic field increases, and ultimately disappears at
32.5\,kOe. For , the electrical resistivity shows the quadratic
temperature dependence (). For , an
unconventional -dependence of with emerges, the
exponent becomes larger as magnetic field increases. Although the
antiferromagnetic phase transition temperature in CeNiGe can be
continuously suppressed to zero, it provides an example of field tuning that

A Novel Method of Extraction of Blend Component Structure from SANS Measurements of Homopolymer Bimodal Blends
A new method is presented for the extraction of single-chain form factors and interchain interference functions from a range of small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) experiments on bimodal homopolymer blends. The method requires a minimum of three blends, made up of hydrogenated and deuterated components with matched degree of polymerization at two different chain lengths, but with carefully varying deuteration levels. The method is validated through an experimental study on polystyrene homopolymer bimodal blends with inline image. By fitting Debye functions to the structure factors, it is shown that there is good agreement between the molar mass of the components obtained from SANS and from chromatography. The extraction method also enables, for the first time, interchain scattering functions to be produced for scattering between chains of different lengths
A quasi-objective single-buoy approach for understanding Lagrangian coherent structures and sea ice dynamics
Sea ice drift and deformation, namely sea ice dynamics, play a significant role in atmosphereâiceâocean coupling. Deformation patterns in sea ice can be observed over a wide range of spatial and temporal scales, though high-resolution objective quantification of these features remains difficult. In an effort to better understand local deformation of sea ice, we adapt the trajectory-stretching exponents (TSEs), quasi-objective measures of Lagrangian stretching in continuous media, to sea ice buoy data and develop a temporal analysis of TSE time series. Our work expands on previous ocean current studies that have shown TSEs provide an approximation of Lagrangian coherent structure diagnostics when only sparse trajectory data are available. As TSEs do not require multiple buoys, we find they have an expanded range of use when compared with traditional Eulerian buoy-array deformation metrics and provide local-stretching information below the length scales possible when averaging over buoy arrays. We verify the ability of TSEs to temporally and spatially identify dynamic features for three different sea ice datasets. The ability of TSEs to quantify trajectory stretching is verified by concurrent ice fracture in buoy neighborhoods ranging from tens to hundreds of kilometers in diameter, as well as the temporal concurrence of significant storm events.</p
A Cellular Automata Model with Probability Infection and Spatial Dispersion
In this article, we have proposed an epidemic model by using probability
cellular automata theory. The essential mathematical features are analyzed with
the help of stability theory. We have given an alternative modelling approach
for the spatiotemporal system which is more realistic and satisfactory from the
practical point of view. A discrete and spatiotemporal approach are shown by
using cellular automata theory. It is interesting to note that both size of the
endemic equilibrium and density of the individual increase with the increasing
of the neighborhood size and infection rate, but the infections decrease with
the increasing of the recovery rate. The stability of the system around the
positive interior equilibrium have been shown by using suitable Lyapunov
function. Finally experimental data simulation for SARS disease in China and a
brief discussion conclude the paper
