An implant periapical lesion associated with presence of residual root fragments: Report of case treated with apicoectomy

Patient attended a dental clinic because she wanted to replace the missing tooth with an implant. She reported having lost the temporary tooth for one year. The initial Cone-beam Computerised Tomography image showed an edentulous area in the #13 zone, and the presence of a fragment of the deciduous tooth. The small root fragment was removed and an implant 4.0 × 13 mm amplified was installed. Patient presented acute pain and inflammation at the implant site 20 d after the surgery when the implant was originally installed; the first periapical surgery was carried out. Four months after the first periapical surgery, in periapical x-ray a radiolucent lesion was observed surrounding the apical region of the implant with a dry sound under percussion. The second periapical surgery was carried out. Five months after the second periapical surgery, the presence of a fistula was observed clinically, while in X-ray a radiolucent lesion was observed in the apex of the implant. Implant-plasty was carried out, removing approximately 5 mm of the apical portion of the implant. This treatment was successful after 27 months' monitoring. © 2018, Scientific Publishers of India. Bibliotequitas para Tualatin : (Bibliotequitas for Tualatin)

The City of Tualatin is home to around 5,000 individuals who identify as Hispanic or Latino (US Census Bureau, 2020). Uniquely, many of the Spanish speakers who immigrated to Tualatin are from Guerrero. Guerrero is located in the southwest region of the Mexican west coast, sandwiched between the Mexican states of Jalisco and Oaxaca. Although many Mexican immigrants in Tualatin are from this particular region, we have a growing community from all over Central America and South America. This shift in immigration shows us the increasing need to provide relevant Spanish-language programs and materials for our community. Tualatin Public Library decided to address this need by creating Little Free Libraries or "bibliotequitas" for underserved, Spanish-speaking communities in the area.

A history of sport historiography in Brazil: Proceedings of the Brazilian Congress of Sport History, Leisure, and Physical Education (1993-2016)

The Brazilian Congress of Sport History, Leisure and Physical Education (CHELEF) is a traditional event in Latin America which has been celebrated for more than 25 years in Brazil. Current paper, focusing on bibliographic production, investigates sport historiography in Brazil as provided by the proceedings of the Brazilian Congress of Sport History, Leisure and Physical Education between 1993 and 2016. Proceedings provided 1517 texts, of which 694 focus on sports. The history of sport historiography took into account themes, source types, historical periods, theory and methodology and the most quoted authors/papers in the texts in the Proceedings. Current sports historiography in Brazil has tried to break away from the legitimization of official narratives which proved to be universals and based on the myth of their origin. New aims, sources and theories of history were required for the social and dynamic conditions of academic events and post-graduate courses

Cross-cultural Adaptation of the Instrument Readiness for Hospital Discharge Scale - Adult Form

Objective: to perform the cross-cultural adaptation of the Readiness for Hospital Discharge Scale - (RHDS) Adult Form for use in Brazil. Method: a methodological study was conducted in 2015, in Brazil’s federal capital, following the eight stages scientifically established. Results: analysis proved the maintenance of semantic, idiomatic, cultural, and conceptual equivalences and kept both the face and content validity of the original version. The judging committee and the pre-test participants declared they understood the RHDS items and answer scale. Conclusion: the instrument is culturally adapted for Brazil and can be used as one of the stages for planning hospital discharge. El sistema "bueno" de Boussiiiesq es un sistema de ecuaciones en derivadas parciales coi1 estructura hamiltoniana. Al discrctizarlo es de interés no perder tal estructura y en este articulo proponemos un método iluinérico de elementos finitos Petrov-Galerkiii que de origen a un sistema hamiltoniano discreto. Analizamos el error y presentamos resultados numéricos.The "good" Boussinesq systein is a system of partial differential equations with a hamiltonian structure.
