The possibilities of using optical properties measurement methods for TBC research

    Get PDF
The main task of the thermal barrier coatings (TBC) is to protect the base material from the effects of high temperatures and thermal shocks. Heat transfer through the multilayered structure of TBC is performed by conduction and radiation. It is important to know not only the thermal conductivity and specific heat capacity of individual materials, but also the reflectivity, transmissivity and emissivity of the individual layers and the entire structure of TBC. The Physiology and Proteomics of Drought Tolerance in Maize: Early Stomatal Closure as a Cause of Lower Tolerance to Short-Term Dehydration?

    Get PDF
Understanding the response of a crop to drought is the first step in the breeding of tolerant genotypes. In our study, two maize (Zea mays L.) genotypes with contrasting sensitivity to dehydration were subjected to moderate drought conditions. The subsequent analysis of their physiological parameters revealed a decreased stomatal conductance accompanied by a slighter decrease in the relative water content in the sensitive genotype. In contrast, the tolerant genotype maintained open stomata and active photosynthesis, even under dehydration conditions. Drought-induced changes in the leaf proteome were analyzed by two independent approaches, 2D gel electrophoresis and iTRAQ analysis, which provided compatible but only partially overlapping results. Drought caused the up-regulation of protective and stress-related proteins (mainly chaperones and dehydrins) in both genotypes. The differences in the levels of various detoxification proteins corresponded well with the observed changes in the activities of antioxidant enzymes. The number and levels of up-regulated protective proteins were generally lower in the sensitive genotype, implying a reduced level of proteosynthesis, which was also indicated by specific changes in the components of the translation machinery. Based on these results, we propose that the hypersensitive early stomatal closure in the sensitive genotype leads to the inhibition of photosynthesis and, subsequently, to a less efficient synthesis of the protective/detoxification proteins that are associated with drought tolerance

The presented diploma thesis deals with VAT rules applied to supply of services as settled by the VAT directive. The main aim of the work is to analyze the application of the VAT law by Czech Republic, France and Slovakia. The work also describes how the selected countries have made use of derogations and compulsory provisions. The taxation of services is described according to national legislation in force on 31/07/2019

This bachelor thesis deals with the use of funds in a selected state-subsidized organization. The first part is focused on the characteristics of the process of obtaining subsidies. In the second part, the management of contributory organizations will be presented in more detail. The third part introduces the selected organization. The fourth part is devoted to the introduction of selected input processes. The fifth part will focus on the analysis of the use of subsidies and their impact on the economy of the selected organization. In the sixth part, the evaluation of the impacts of the use of subsidies on the management of the selected organization will be performed. The seventh part will deal with the comparison of procurement and financing methods. Doplňující otázky komise v rámci rozpravy: O1: Vysvětlete výhody a nevýhody transformace ŘSD. Gender markers of nouns denoting animals in contemporary English

    No full text
This diploma thesis deals with gender markers of nouns denoting animals in contemporary English. The differences will be researched in technical texts published in both the online and print versions of scientific magazines. The work is divided into two main parts. The theoretical part will describe predominantly grammatical categories of nouns (number, countability, determination, gender, case) connected with gender issues. The first half of the practical part concentrates primarily on observation of animal names, collectives, or their forms in singular and plural. The second half is engaged exclusively in singular pronouns as they able to distinguish masculine, feminine and neutral gender in animals

French idioms containing proper nouns and their Czech equivalents

The theme of the presented bachelor thesis are French idioms containing proper nouns and their Czech equivalents. The first part of this thesis provides an introduction to the principles and foundations of phraseology and idiomatics. Firstly, the basic terminology is defined and then the main formal and semantic characteristics of phrasemes and idioms are described. The second part analyses selected sample of onomastic idioms from formal, semantic and translatological aspect. This thesis aims at finding Czech equivalents for French idioms and evaluate the level of their equivalence

Time Series Analysis Of GDP and Market Indices

    No full text
The paper is concerned with time series analysis of GDP growth and returns of securities market indices. The main goal was to identify cyclical patterns in the examined series and to demonstrate correlation among the individual series. First part of the paper presents deals with fitting the selected models to real data. Chapter 3 is devoted to correlation analysis. The analysed time series are quarterly GDP growth in the USA, in Germany and in the Czech Republic and monthly and quarterly returns of S&P500, DAX and PX50. All models applied in Chapter 2 are based on autoregressive processes. The analysis starts with linear ARMA model, followed by non-linear extensions thereof: the ARCH family based on conditional heteroscedasticity and the Threshold AutoRegressive Model (TAR). Non-linear models appeared to be more appropriate than simple ARMA models. Traces of cyclical patterns were identified in several time series, however, only US GDP growth and S&P500 seemed to be closely related in terms of cyclical behaviour. The correlation analysis confirmed two frequent hypotheses. First, returns on different capital markets in the world are strongly correlated reducing thus investors' possibilities to diversify risk. Second, the development of the Czech GDP growth and of PX50 responds (with certain delay) to the development of German GDP growth, whereas no correlation can be found between the Czech GDP growth and PX50 returns.time series, autoregressive models, correlation, econometrics, financial economics, dependence

The comparison of protection of Czech and Swiss banknotes

    No full text
The presented bachelor thesis deals with protection of Czech and Swiss banknotes and with related criminality of forging banknotes in the Czech Republic and Switzer-land. The work describes anti-counterfeiting measures in both coun-tries and presents official statistics of the incidence of counterfeit money. The situation in both countries is then compared and leads to a conclusion which of the currencies is less protected
