In several decades, space infrared interferometer missions with formation flying have been proposed, but most of the missions were relinquished because their requirements for position and attitude control of satellites are extremely accurate. In order to overcome this issue, we propose to apply the densified pupil spectroscopy to relax control requirements of the baseline distance and attitude to overlap the rays. SEIRIOS is a micro-satellite project to demonstrate the concept of space infrared interferometer with the densified pupil spectrograph. The interferometer is constructed by one 50kg class micro-satellite and two 9U CubeSats in line. The micro-satellite is placed at the center of the two CubeSats that keep a constant distance between 5 to 50-m from the micro-satellite. The CubeSats reflect rays from target celestial bodies to the micro-satellite, and the micro-satellite collects the rays by the pupil spectrometer. The baseline control requirement is 1 mm, and it could be achieved by using COTS laser distance meters, low force thrusters, and the mirror control by piezo stages. This paper introduces the mission concept, a preliminary design result, and the future plan of our interferometer mission

Sexual Experience Induces the Expression of Gastrin-Releasing Peptide and Oxytocin Receptors in the Spinal Ejaculation Generator in Rats

Male sexual function in mammals is controlled by the brain neural circuits and the spinal cord centers located in the lamina X of the lumbar spinal cord (L3-L4). Recently, we reported that hypothalamic oxytocin neurons project to the lumbar spinal cord to activate the neurons located in the dorsal lamina X of the lumbar spinal cord (dXL) via oxytocin receptors, thereby facilitating male sexual activity. Sexual experiences can influence male sexual activity in rats. However, how this experience affects the brain-spinal cord neural circuits underlying male sexual activity remains unknown. Focusing on dXL neurons that are innervated by hypothalamic oxytocinergic neurons controlling male sexual function, we examined whether sexual experience affects such neural circuits. We found that >50% of dXL neurons were activated in the first ejaculation group and similar to 30% in the control and intromission groups in sexually naive males. In contrast, in sexually experienced males, similar to 50% of dXL neurons were activated in both the intromission and ejaculation groups, compared to similar to 30% in the control group. Furthermore, sexual experience induced expressions of gastrin-releasing peptide and oxytocin receptors in the lumbar spinal cord. This is the first demonstration of the effects of sexual experience on molecular expressions in the neural circuits controlling male sexual activity in the spinal cord

    HBO1-MLL interaction promotes AF4/ENL/P-TEFb-mediated leukemogenesis

白血病を引き起こすタンパク質間相互作用の発見. 京都大学プレスリリース. 2021-08-31.Leukemic oncoproteins cause uncontrolled self-renewal of hematopoietic progenitors by aberrant gene activation, eventually causing leukemia. However, the molecular mechanism underlying aberrant gene activation remains elusive. Here, we showed that leukemic MLL fusion proteins associate with the HBO1 histone acetyltransferase (HAT) complex through their trithorax homology domain 2 (THD2) in various human cell lines. MLL proteins associated with the HBO1 complex through multiple contacts mediated mainly by the ING4/5 and PHF16 subunits in a chromatin-bound context where histone H3 lysine 4 tri-methylation marks were present. Of the many MLL fusions, MLL-ELL particularly depended on the THD2-mediated association with the HBO1 complex for leukemic transformation. The C-terminal portion of ELL provided a binding platform for multiple factors including AF4, EAF1, and p53. MLL-ELL activated gene expression in murine hematopoietic progenitors by loading an AF4/ENL/P-TEFb (AEP) complex onto the target promoters wherein the HBO1 complex promoted the association with AEP complex over EAF1 and p53. Moreover, the NUP98-HBO1 fusion protein exerted its oncogenic properties via interaction with MLL but not its intrinsic HAT activity. Thus, the interaction between the HBO1 complex and MLL is an important nexus in leukemic transformation, which may serve as a therapeutic target for drug development

The Naga-une mounded tomb No.10 is supposed to be a round or scallop shell-shaped mounded tomb located in Mirasaka-chō, Miyoshi City, Hiroshima Prefecture. As part of “Field Practice in Archaeology C” for the twenty-fifth annual class of archaeology majors at the Hiroshima University School of Letters, we conducted a topographic survey of this mound with the aim of clarifying its scale, shape and the date of its construction. This mounded tomb has been altered by land reclamation for a vineyard, however, we could reconstruct its shape according to the plan, based on some parts that so far remained in good condition. The results of this survey indicated that the Naga-une mounded tomb is a scallop shell-shaped mounded tomb of the Kofun period, 19.5m in length and was constructed in the second half of the 6th century AD (additional interment may be performed at the beginning of the 7th century). This allows the conclusion that the building of small scallop shell-shaped mounded tombs also continued in the second half of the Late Kofun period. Additionally, we assumed the possibility that this mound has a corridor-style stone chamber with horizontal side entrance because of the additional interment, and that many kinds of the Sue ware were put on the floor of this chamber, which was typical in the regions of Miyoshi and Shōbara City in the northern part of Hiroshima Prefecture and the San’in region

The Shinjō-ryūō mounded tomb No.1 is a scallop shell-shaped mound tomb located in Shinjō-chō, Shōbara City, Hiroshima Prefecture. In March 2007, as part of “Field Practice in Archaeology C” for the sixteenth annual class of archaeology majors at the Hiroshima University School of Letters, we conducted a topographic survey of this mound with the aim of creating a detailed survey map and clarifying its historical significance. The results of this survey indicated that the Shinzō-ryūō mounded tomb No.1 is a scallop shell-shaped mounded tomb of the Kofun period with 51.9m in length. In addition, according to the possibility that the mound shape is similar to that of the Maruyama-jinja mounded tomb No.1 and the change of the surface shape of the rectangular part of scallop shell-shaped mounded tombs in Hiroshima Prefecture, we draw the conclusion that the Shinjōryūō mounded tomb No.1 was constructed around the end of the 4th century to the early 5th century AD. As a result, the Shinjō-ryūō mounded tomb No.1 is the oldest among the scallop shell-shaped mounded tombs of the fifth century in the vicinity of the cities of Miyoshi and Shōbara in the northern part of Hiroshima Prefecture

Syntheses and Characterization of New Nickel Coordination Polymers with 4,4′-Dipyridylsulfide. Dynamic Rearrangements of One-Dimensional Chains Responding to External Stimuli: Temperature Variation and Guest Releases/Re-Inclusions

Crystal structures and dynamic rearrangements of one-dimensional coordination polymers with 4,4′-dipyridylsulfide (dps) have been studied. Reaction of Ni(NO3)2·6H2O with dps in EtOH yielded [Ni(dps)2(NO3)2] ·EtOH (1), which had channels filled with guest EtOH molecules among the four Ni(dps)2 chains. This coordination polymer reversibly transformed the channel structure responding to temperature variations. Immersion of 1 in m-xylene released guest EtOH molecules to yield a guest-free coordination polymer [Ni(dps)2(NO3)2] (2a), which was also obtained by treatment of Ni(NO3)2·6H2O with dps in MeOH. On the other hand, removal of the guest molecules from 1 upon heating at 130 °C under reduced pressure produced a guest-free coordination polymer [Ni(dps)2(NO3)2] (2b). Although the 2a and 2b guest-free coordination polymers have the same formula, they showed differences in the assembled structures of the one-dimensional chains. Exposure of 2b to EtOH vapor reproduced 1, while 2a did not convert to 1 in a similar reaction. Reaction of Ni(NO3)2·6H2O with dps in acetone provided [Ni(dps)(NO3)2(H2O)] ·Me2CO (4) with no channel structure. When MeOH or acetone was used as a reaction solvent, the [Ni(dps)2(NO3)2] · (guest molecule) type coordination polymer, which was observed in 1, was not formed. Nevertheless, the reaction of Ni(NO3)2·6H2O with dps in MeOH/acetone mixed solution produced [Ni(dps)2(NO3)2]·0.5(MeOH·acetone) (5), which has an isostructural Ni-dps framework to 1
