    ANGINA INESTABLE. PROPUESTA DE PROTOCOLO DE TRATAMIENTO EN EL HOSPITAL

    Unstable angina is an acute coronary syndrome without elevation of the ST segment. It is clinically important because of its threatening and crippling nature, due to the possibility that it could precede acute myocardial infarction. That is why it is determined that the patient suffering from this condition must be hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit. There are various therapeutic strategies and several forms to approach the treatment of each patient, but in many cases it is necessary a percutaneous coronary intervention and this procedure is not carried out in this hospital. That is why it is necessary to establish a guideline for the treatment of this condition with the aim of optimizing the medications and making an adequate selection of the patients who require being transferred to a hospital with interventional cardiology services. A proposal for treatment protocol is presented in this work. It can function as a guideline for those who on daily basis treat patient with this condition at the Roberto Rodriguez Fernandez University Hospital in MorĂłn city

    Volatiles and refratories in solar analogs: no terrestial planet connection

    We have analysed very high-quality HARPS and UVES spectra of 95 solar analogs, 24 hosting planets and 71 without detected planets, to search for any possible signature of terrestial planets in the chemical abundances of volatile and refractory elements with respect to the solar abundances. We demonstrate that stars with and without planets in this sample show similar mean abundance ratios, in particular, a sub-sample of 14 planet-host and 14 "single" solar analogs in the metallicity range 0.14<[Fe/H]<0.36. In addition, two of the planetary systems in this sub-sample, containing each of them a super-Earth-like planet with masses in the range ~ 7-11 Earth masses, have different volatile-to-refratory abundance ratios to what would be expected from the presence of a terrestial planets. Finally, we check that after removing the Galactic chemical evolution effects any possible difference in mean abundances, with respect to solar values, of refratory and volatile elements practically dissappears.Comment: 2 pages, 2 figures, to appear in the proceedings of the 276th IAU Symposium "The Astrophysics of Planetary Systems

    A transfer Hamiltonian model for devices based on quantum dot arrays

    We present a model of electron transport through a random distribution of interacting quantum dots embedded in a dielectric matrix to simulate realistic devices. The method underlying the model depends only on fundamental parameters of the system and it is based on the Transfer Hamiltonian approach. A set of noncoherent rate equations can be written and the interaction between the quantum dots and between the quantum dots and the electrodes is introduced by transition rates and capacitive couplings. A realistic modelization of the capacitive couplings, the transmission coefficients, the electron/hole tunneling currents, and the density of states of each quantum dot have been taken into account. The effects of the local potential are computed within the self-consistent field regime. While the description of the theoretical framework is kept as general as possible, two specific prototypical devices, an arbitrary array of quantum dots embedded in a matrix insulator and a transistor device based on quantum dots, are used to illustrate the kind of unique insight that numerical simulations based on the theory are able to provide

    The non-coherent rate equation approach to the electrical transport in a serial quantum dot system is presented. The charge density in each quantum dot is obtained using the transfer Hamiltonian formalism for the current expressions. The interactions between the quantum dots and between the quantum dots and the electrodes are introduced by transition rates and capacitive couplings. Within this framework analytical expressions for the current and the charge in each quantum dot are presented. The effects of the local potential are computed within the self-consistent field regime. Despite the simplicity of the model, well-known effects are satisfactorily explained and reproduced. We also show how this approach can be extended into a more general case

    Proposition of a method based on mind maps to study changes in users’ perceptions during an IS/IT adoption process

    Although knowledge about IS/IT adoption is very broad, it is fragmented, and we still do not understand well how users move dynamically from one stage to another during the adoption process, that is, from when a user knows a new technology until, if the process is successful, she/he incorporates it into her/his routine. One of the causes of this theoretical limitation relates to the lack of methodologies that help researchers analyze longitudinally collected data and distinguish changes that occur over time as participants experience the implementation of the new system. In this article, we present a method based on mind maps that allows researchers to graphically synthesize the mental processes experienced by individuals as they adopt a new system. The method allows comparing and measuring changes among mental models of an individual in different stages of the adoption. Findings show that this method better reflects user perceptions than others based on surveys and technical processing of textual data. Using mind maps is a novel contribution to researching and understanding technology adoption in a holistic way and with methods that include time as a contextual variable in the adoption process

    Low dose electron tomography of novel nanocomposites for additive manufacturing

    This is an open access article under the CC BY-NC-ND licenseThe development of new nanocomposites with added functionalities for Additive Manufacturing (AM) requires of a deep understanding of the 3D distribution of the selected nano-additives within the polymeric matrix, in order to optimize their performance. For this, electron tomography (ET) is an outstanding analysis technique that requires the material to withstand the electron exposure needed for the acquisition of several tens of images, becoming challenging for beam-sensitive materials. In this work, we analyse the parameters involved in the successful analysis by low dose ET of nanocomposites based in acrylic resins for stereolithography (SLA). Needleshape electron-transparent specimens have been fabricated by focused ion beam (FIB), minimizing surface damage due to the high energy Ga+ ions. Microscope settings for tuning the electron dose applied during the ET analysis of these nanoneedles are discussed. A phenomenological study of the effect of increasing the electron dose in the scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) analysis of the material has been carried out, showing that ET can be effectively performed at low electron doses. Two case studies are presented, to illustrate the relevance of these analyses in the development of nanocomposites with added functionalities. Our results have revealed the crucial role of the dose rate and of inaccuracies in the calculation of critical electron doses for the design of ET experiments.Junta de Andalucía 00955Universidad de Cádiz PR2022-00

    Precompact noncompact reflexive abelian groups

    We present a series of examples of precompact, noncompact, reflexive topological Abelian groups. Some of them are pseudocompact or even countably compact, but we show that there exist precompact non-pseudocompact reflexive groups as well. It is also proved that every pseudocompact Abelian group is a quotient of a reflexive pseudocompact group with respect to a closed reflexive pseudocompact subgroup
