ANTIMICROBIAL POTENCY of Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni as HERBAL MOUTHWASHES AGAINST CARIOGENIC BACTERIAL Streptococcus mutans
Background: Dental caries is a disease that is produced by the dissolution of local chemical surfaces of the teeth caused by product of microbial fermentation from dietary carbohydrates in the biofilm that attached to the teeth. Streptococcus mutans as the primary microbial pathogen in the aetiology of caries. They have a characteristic ability to produce voluminous amounts of sticky, extracellular polysaccharides in the presence of dietary carbohydrates, thus, help tenacious binding of the organism to enamel. Caries can be prevented by regular tooth brushing and flossing as mechanical plaque removal for cleaning the tooth. However, for many individuals, it difficult to eliminate Streptococcus mutans from the surfaces of the tooth by mechanical means alone over prolonged periods. Consequently, for effective caries control, these methods should be combined with the antimicrobial agent such as mouthwash whould have a directinhibitory effect on the microorganism that can be bactericidal or bacteriostatic. However, they have several undesirable side effects reported from clinical studies. The use of medicinal plants is highly considered, because of side effects of chemical substances. Recently, Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni leaves extracts as herbal mouthwashes are being tried and have been scientifically proven from several studies to be safe and effective to protection against dental caries because of its inhibitory effect or antimicrobial property against Streptococcus mutans. Purposes: The main aim of this literature review article is to explain the potenciallyantimicrobial herbal mouthwashes from Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni leaves extracts towards cariogenic bacterial Streptococcus mutans. Conclusions: Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni leaves extracts as herbal mouthwashes can be strongly recommended as a caries preventing agent
The Antifungal Potential of Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni Leaf Extract Against Candida albicans
Candida sp. are eukaryotic opportunistic pathogens that reside on the mucosa oral cavity, gastrointestinal tract, vagina and sometimes skin. An infection caused by Candida is termed candidiasis or candidosis. Oral candidiasis is a common opportunistic infection of the oral cavity caused by overgrowth of Candida species, the most common being Candida albicans. Risk factor for oral candidiasis are local factors, systemic factors and the physiological states. The most commonly used classes of antifungal drug treatment to Candida infections are the azole, polyenes and echinocandins. However, the management of Candida infections faces many problems, such as toxicity, resistance of Candida to antifungal drugs, relapse to Candida infection and the high cost of antifungal drugs. Many investigators are exploiting alternative therapeutic strategies to overcome problems treating candidiasis. Stevia leaves extracts has been known to have antifungal activity to treat candidiasis. The aim of this review article is to explain antifungal potency of Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni leaves extracts toward Candida albicans. Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni leaves extracts can use as cheap, natural and alternative agent to control candidiasis

Penerapan Pupuk Urea pada Tumpangsari Jagung “Double Row†dan Kacang Tanah Terhadap Pertumbuhan dan Hasil Jagung (Zea mays L.)
The study aims to determine: (1) response growth and result of corn and peanut on monoculture and intercropping; (2) an optimal urea doze on growth and result of corn and peanut. Research did from July to November 2014 in Laboratory of Integrated, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. The research used complete Random Group Design with Triple Multiply. Homogenity of variance was tested by Bartlett test. Separation of median is done by using the test Polynomial Orthogonal with real level 5 %. The result showed that picking of corn per hectar for monoculture higher than intercropping but the other variable wasn’t really different. Peanut monoculture higher than intercropping for number of pods, weight of 100 grains, and production of seed per hectar but for plant height and greening level, pattern levels of intercropping higher than monoculture, and there were not find an optimal urea doze for corn on intercropping of corn “double row†and peanut. Keywords : corn, intercropping, peanuts, ure
Effect of Hypobaric Hypoxia Induction on Cognitive Function and Glutamate Receptor in Sprague-Dawley Rats
Induction of sublethal hypoxia provides neuroprotective effect pathological processes such as myocardial infarc and stroke. This study aimed to know the effect of intermittent hypobaric hypoxia (IHH) induction on cognitive function and glutamate receptor in the rat brain. The study was conducted at dr. Saryanto Institute for Aviation and Aerospace Health (LAKESPRA) from 2015-2016. 25 sprague dawley rats, divided into 4 IHH treatment groups and 1 control group. Group 1 was induced with 1x IHH exposure, group 2 was induced with 2x IHH exposure, group 3 was induced with 3x IHH exposure and group 4 was induced with 4x IHH exposure (days 1, 8, 15 and 22). After induction, cognitive function tests are performed with Y Maze and immunohistochemistry is performed to evaluate the glutamate receptor N-methyl-D-aspartic acid (NMDA). There were no significant differences between the four treatment groups compared with the control group (p>0.05) on cognitif function, but significant difference in NMDA receptor. In conclution, HHI induction was not cause change cognitive fuction but increased the response of neuroplasticity of sprague-dawley rats brain tissue which assessed from increasing NMDA receptor.
Expression of Hypoxia-Inducible Factor-1α and Myoglobin in Rat Heart as Adaptive Response to Intermittent Hypobaric Hypoxia Exposure
The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of intermittent hypobaric hypoxia on the expression hypoxia adaptation proteins, namely hypoxia inducibla factor-1a (HIF-1a) and myoglobin (Mb). Twenty five male Sprague-Dawley rats were exposed to intermittent hypobaric hypoxia in a hypobaric chamber in Indonesian Air Force Institute of Aviation Medicine, for 49.5 minutes at various low pressure, 1 week interval for 4 times (day 1, 8, 15 and 22). HIF-1α and Mb protein were measured with ELISA. mRNA expression of Mb was measured with one step real time RT-PCR. HIF-1α protein levels increased after induction of hypobaric hypoxia and continues to decrease after induction of intermittent hypobaric hypoxia 3 times (ANOVA, p = 0.0437). mRNA expression and protein of Mb increased after induction of hypobaric hypoxia and continues to decrease after induction of intermittent hypobaric hypoxia 3 times (ANOVA, p = 0.0283; 0.0170), and both are strongly correlated (Pearson, r = 0.6307). The heart of rats adapted to intermittent hypoxia conditions by upregulation the expression of HIF-1a and myoglobin and then both return to normal level
lmplementasi Kebijakan Kartu Tanda Penduduk Elektronik (KTP-el)di Kecamatan Putussibau Utara Kabupaten Kapuas Hulu
Pelaksanaan Kebijakan Kartu Tanda Penduduk Elektronik (KTP-el) di Kecamatan Putussibau Utara Kabupaten Kapuas Hulu sampai semester 2 tahun 2014, baru mencapai 79,32% dari jumlah penduduk wajib KTP-el. Sehingga Kecamatan
