Dynamics of Multidimensional Secession
We explore a generalized Seceder Model with variable size selection groups
and higher dimensional genotypes, uncovering its well-defined mean-field
limiting behavior. Mapping to a discrete, deterministic version, we pin down
the upper critical size of the multiplet selection group, characterize all
relevant dynamically stable fixed points, and provide a complete analytical

Spanish Language Topics Course Curriculum Proposal
The objective of this report is to initiate the development of an introductory Spanish topics course within the construction management curriculum at Cal Poly. With each construction management student at Cal Poly that graduates, the industry is gifted another future industry expert. However, in order to be truly successful in construction,one must be excellent at communicating with, and coordinating team’s activities. There is no question that workers in the construction industry are subject to life threatening hazards on a regular basis. In order to mitigate the potential harm of these hazards, allsteps must be taken in managing these risks. Faults in communication between coworkers not only can lead to inefficiencies, but workers can also end up injured. With a large number of laborers in America being of Latin descent, the Spanish-English language-barrier is something of high importance, and should not go unrecognized.Upon completing the Spanish in Construction topics course, students will have the skills necessary to communicate with Spanish speaking workers in order to help diminish these safety hazards

On the interactions between molecules in an off-resonant laser beam:Evaluating the response to energy migration and optically induced pair forces
Electronically excited molecules interact with their neighbors differently from their ground-state counterparts. Any migration of the excitation between molecules can modify intermolecular forces, reflecting changes to a local potential energy landscape. It emerges that throughput off-resonant radiation can also produce significant additional effects. The context for the present analysis of the mechanisms is a range of chemical and physical processes that fundamentally depend on intermolecular interactions resulting from second and fourth-order electric-dipole couplings. The most familiar are static dipole-dipole interactions, resonance energy transfer (both second-order interactions), and dispersion forces (fourth order). For neighboring molecules subjected to off-resonant light, additional forms of intermolecular interaction arise in the fourth order, including radiation-induced energy transfer and optical binding. Here, in a quantum electrodynamical formulation, these phenomena are cast in a unified description that establishes their inter-relationship and connectivity at a fundamental level. Theory is then developed for systems in which the interplay of these forms of interaction can be readily identified and analyzed in terms of dynamical behavior. The results are potentially significant in Förster measurements of conformational change and in the operation of microelectromechanical and nanoelectromechanical devices. © 2009 American Institute of Physics
Implementation costs of a multi-component program to increase human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination in a network of pediatric clinics
Introduction: HPV vaccination is both a clinically and cost-effective way to prevent HPV-related cancers. Increased focus on preventing HPV infection and HPV-related cancers has motivated development of strategies to increase adolescent vaccination rates. This analysis estimates the average cost associated with implementing programs aimed at increasing HPV vaccination from the perspective of the clinic decision makers. As providers and healthcare organizations consider vaccination initiatives, it is important for them to understand the costs associated with implementing these programs.
Methods: Healthcare provider assessment and feedback, reminders, and education; and parent education/reminder strategies were implemented in a large pediatric clinic network between October 2015 and February 2018 to improve HPV vaccination rates. A micro-costing method was used in 2018 to prospectively estimate program implementation costs with the clinic as the unit of analysis. A sensitivity analysis assessed the effects of variability in levels of participation.
Results: Assessment and feedback reports and provider education were implemented among 51 clinics at average per clinic cost of 368 respectively. Electronic vaccination reminders were delivered to providers and parents at a per clinic cost of 2,126 per clinic.
Conclusion: The four complimentary HPV evidence-based strategies were delivered at a total cost of 4,749 per clinic, including staff training and participant recruitment, reaching 155,000 HPV vaccine eligible adolescents

AT 2023prq: A Classical Nova in the Halo of the Andromeda Galaxy
The classical nova, AT 2023prq, was discovered on 2023 August 15 and is
located at a distance of 46 kpc from the Andromeda Galaxy (M 31). Here we
report photometry and spectroscopy of the nova. The 'very fast'
( d) and low luminosity ()
nature of the transient along with the helium in its spectra would indicate
that AT 2023prq is a 'faint-and-fast' He/N nova. Additionally, at such a large
distance from the centre of M 31, AT 2023prq is a member of the halo nova
