Large Magnetic Fields and Motions of OH Masers in W75 N
We report on a second epoch of VLBA observations of the 1665 and 1667 MHz OH
masers in the massive star-forming region W75 N. We find evidence to confirm
the existence of very strong (~40 mG) magnetic fields near source VLA 2. The
masers near VLA 2 are dynamically distinct and include a very bright spot
apparently moving at 50 km/s relative to those around VLA 1. This fast-moving
spot may be an example of a rare class of OH masers seen in outflows in
star-forming regions. Due to the variability of these masers and the rapidity
of their motions, tracking these motions will require multiple observations
over a significantly shorter time baseline than obtained here. Proper motions
of the masers near VLA 1 are more suggestive of streaming along magnetized
shocks rather than Keplerian rotation in a disk. The motions of the easternmost
cluster of masers in W75 N (B) may be tracing slow expansion around an unseen

Introduction to the themed issue - Corporate power : agency, communication, influence and social policy
This paper introduces this themed issue of Critical Social Policy on the question of corporate power. Corporate power is recognized as an important agent in social policy making and delivery. However, to date there has been comparatively little attention to the crucial role that lobbying and corporate 'spin' play in helping to shape policy making contexts. This special issue of Critical Social Policy is concerned to bring such issues to the mainstream of social policy analysis. It is argued here that the rise of spin and public relations is a key feature of neoliberalism in the past two decades. These have worked to reshape policy making, resulting in pronounced changes in the content and process of policy making and it is argued that these have tended to marginalize or undermine democratic processes
Generation of the Baryon Asymmetry of the Universe within the Left--Right Symmetric Model
Fermions scattering off first-order phase transition bubbles, in the
framework of models, may generate the
Baryon Asymmetry of the Universe (BAU), either at the -symmetry-breaking
scale, or at the weak scale. In the latter case, the baryon asymmetry of the

Observations of the 6 Centimeter Lines of OH in Evolved (OH/IR) Stars
Recent observational and theoretical advances have called into question
traditional OH maser pumping models in evolved (OH/IR) stars. The detection of
excited-state OH lines would provide additional constraints to discriminate
amongst these theoretical models. In this Letter, we report on VLA observations
of the 4750 MHz and 4765 MHz lines of OH toward 45 sources, mostly evolved
stars. We detect 4765 MHz emission in the star forming regions Mon R2 and LDN
1084, but we do not detect excited-state emission in any evolved stars. The
flux density and velocity of the 4765 MHz detection in Mon R2 suggests that a
new flaring event has begun.Comment: 4 pages, to appear in ApJ
Transient domain walls and lepton asymmetry in the Left-Right symmetric model
It is shown that the dynamics of domain walls in Left-Right symmetric models,
separating respective regions of unbroken SU(2)_L and SU(2)_R in the early
universe, can give rise to baryogenesis via leptogenesis. Neutrinos have a
spatially varying complex mass matrix due to CP-violating scalar condensates in
the domain wall. The motion of the wall through the plasma generates a flux of
lepton number across the wall which is converted to a lepton asymmetry by
helicity-flipping scatterings. Subsequent processing of the lepton excess by
sphalerons results in the observed baryon asymmetry, for a range of parameters

The time of the Roma in times of crisis: Where has European neoliberal capitalism failed?
This paper argues that the economic and financial crisis that has ensnared Europe from the late 2000s has been instrumental in reshaping employment and social relations in a detrimental way for the majority of the European people. It argues that the crisis has exacerbated the socio-economic position of most Roma people, immigrants as well as of other vulnerable groups. This development is approached here as an outcome of the widening structural inequalities that underpin the crisis within an increasingly neoliberalised Europe. Through recent policy developments and public discourses from a number of European countries I show how rising inequalities nurture racialised social tensions. My account draws on classic and contemporary theoretical propositions that have been propounded about the nature of capitalism, its contemporary re-articulation as well as its ramification for the future of Europe

Supersymmetric Pair Correlation Function of Wilson Loops
We give a path integral derivation of the annulus diagram in a supersymmetric
theory of open and closed strings with Dbranes. We compute the pair correlation
function of Wilson loops in the generic weakly coupled supersymmetric flat
spacetime background with Dbranes. We obtain a -u^4/r^9 potential between heavy
nonrelativistic sources in a supersymmetric gauge theory at short distances.Comment: 18 pages, Revte
The Giant Pillars of the Carina Nebula
Results are presented from a multi-wavelength study of the giant pillars
within the Carina Nebula. Using near-IR data from 2MASS, mid-IR data from MSX,
843MHz radio continuum maps from the MOST, and molecular line and continuum
observations from the SEST, we investigate the nature of the pillars and search
for evidence of ongoing star formation within them. Photodissociation regions
(PDRs) exist across the whole nebula and trace the giant pillars, as well as
many ridges, filaments, and condensations (Av > 7 mag). Morphological
similarities between emission features at 21um and 843MHz adjacent to the PDRs,
suggests that the molecular material has been carved by the intense stellar
winds and UV radiation from the nearby massive stars. In addition, star forming
cores are found at the tips of several of the pillars. Using a stellar density
distribution, several candidate embedded clusters are also found. One is
clearly seen in the 2MASS images and is located within a dense core
(G287.84-0.82). A search for massive young stellar objects and compact HII
regions using mid-IR colour criteria, reveal twelve candidates across the
complex. Grey-body fits to SEDs for four of these objects are suggestive of
OB-stars. We find that massive star formation in the Carina Nebula is occurring
across the whole complex and confirm it has been continuous over the past 3
