Peculiarities of angiogenesis in testicular embryonal carcinoma

Despite the relatively low incidence of testicular germ cell tumors (TGCT), which amount only 1% of all cancers in men worldwide in the epidemiological aspect, unlike tumors of other localizations, it does not become more frequent with age, but reaches its peak in young men of working age what attaches to the problem not only great medical, but also social significance.Estimation of angiogenesis in the tumor is considered as one of the markers for predicting the course of disease, presence of metastases and sensitivity to antitumor antiangiogenic therapy. At the same time, data concerning the study of the mechanisms of blood vessels formation, the work out of methods for estimation of tumorous angiogenesis as well as the use habits of IHC markers of endothelial cells (CD31 and CD34) for assessing the aggressiveness and prognosis of TGCT and, in particular, EC, are absent in the available literature sources.Investigation of peculiarities of neoangiogenesis in the dynamics of testicular embryonal carcinoma progression revealed: significant increasing of relative area of CD31 and CD34 expression as well as vascular density during transition from the initial to the late stages of tumor progression; formation of intratumoral vessels in the embryonal carcinoma occurs by angiogenesis and vasculogenesis with participation of progenitor endothelial cells; embryonal carcinoma is characterized by vasculogenic mimicry in the form of channels formation that do not have endothelial lining

Family house energy requirements audit

Práce pojednává o možnostech využití Národního kalkulačního nástroje energetické náročnosti budov ve smyslu vyhlášky č. 148/2007 Sb. při posouzení energetické náročnosti konkrétního rodinného domu. Na základě vyhodnocení současného stavu budovy je proveden návrh několika opatření vedoucích ke snížení její energetické náročnosti. V závěru jsou jednotlivá opaření zhodnocena z pohledu energetického, stavebně–konstrukčního a ekonomického.The bachelor’s thesis is focused to possibilities of using National calculating tool of buildings energy requirements according to Czech government regulation no. 148/2007 Sb. The tool was applied to calculate energy requirements of chosen family house. Several types of house modifications which can reduce energy requirements are proposed based on results of the audit. Each modification of the house is analyzed from the energetic, construction and economic point of view.

MEMS microphones' parameters analysis

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá typy a vlastnostmi aktuálně využívaných MEMS mikrofonů. U digitálních mikrofonů je dále přiblížen způsob vzniku, přenos a vyhodnocování jejich výstupních dat. Práce obsahuje návrh a realizaci měřícího pracoviště a vyhodnocení výsledků měření vlastností digitálních MEMS mikrofonů.This bachelor thesis deals with the types and properties of currently used MEMS microphones. This thesis is scoped to digitial MEMS microphones and their digital output. Thesis includes design and realization of workplace and evaluation of results of the measurements.

Testicular germ cell tumors: tumor grade co-relation with TNS stages and remote metastasis

The performed analysis, based on the examination of pathologists’ reports and medical case histories of the patients of Kharkiv regional clinical center of urology and nephrology named after Shapovalov V.I., for the period covering years 1998-2017, is devoted to the investigation of correlation between the degree of tumorous lesion of the testes and categories of pTNM classification in patients with TGCT. According to the obtained data, there are significant differences between the different histological types of the TGCT. It is concluded that the most aggressive TGCT is embryonic cancer and yolk sac tumor, postpubertal-type; the least aggressive of all is seminoma and teratoma, postpubertal-type; the mixed TGCT hold an intermediate position

Clinical and pathologic characteristics of testicular germ cell tumors

The performed analyses of incidence rate of testicular germ cell tumors and clinical and pathologic analysis, based on the examination of pathologists’ reports and medical case histories of the patients of Kharkiv regional clinical center of urology and nephrology named after Shapovalov V.I., for the period covering years 1998-2017, revealed: unfavorable increasing tendency in testicular GCT incidences, the most typical age of patients with mentioned pathology, and average duration of the disease by the time the patient visited the doctor; determined the possible risk factors of testicular GCT development, as well as the morphological traits in accordance with WНO updated classification

Innervation patterns of sea otter (Enhydra lutris) mystacial follicle-sinus complexes

Sea otters (Enhydra lutris) are the most recent group of mammals to return to the sea, and may exemplify divergent somatosensory tactile systems among mammals. Therefore, we quantified the mystacial vibrissal array of sea otters and histologically processed follicle-sinus complexes (F - SCs) to test the hypotheses that the number of myelinated axons per F - SC is greater than that found for terrestrial mammalian vibrissae and that their organization and microstructure converge with those of pinniped vibrissae. A mean of 120.5 vibrissae were arranged rostrally on a broad, blunt muzzle in 7–8 rows and 9–13 columns. The F-SCs of sea otters are tripartite in their organization and similar in microstructure to pinnipeds rather than terrestrial species. Each F-SC was innervated by a mean 1339 ± 408.3 axons. Innervation to the entire mystacial vibrissal array was estimated at 161,313 axons. Our data support the hypothesis that the disproportionate expansion of the coronal gyrus in somatosensory cortex of sea otters is related to the high innervation investment of the mystacial vibrissal array, and that quantifying innervation investment is a good proxy for tactile sensitivity. We predict that the tactile performance of sea otter mystacial vibrissae is comparable to that of harbor seals, sea lions and walruses
