    Genetic Diversity of Potato Based on Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA and Simple Sequence Repeat Marker

    Various potato clones are cultivated by farmers in Banjarnegara and Wonosobo, Central Java, Indonesia such as MZ, NH1, NH2, Vega, Gareta, Granola, Bliss, Merah (Red Potato), Ungu (Purple Potato), Klon_17 (K17), Local Dieng, Margahayu, and X. This encourages the importance of genetic diversity and genetic similarities. This study aimed to analyze genetic diversity and genetic similarities between 13 accessions of potatoes based on seven Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) primers and nine pairs of Simple Sequence Repeat Marker (SSR) primers. The results showed that RAPD and SSR primers could be used to analyze genetic diversity and genetic similarities of 13 potatoes accessions from Banjarnegara and Wonosobo. The PLP value was 80.9% in the RAPD primer and 65.41% in the SSR primer. Four RAPD primers were informative based on PIC value: OPG 08, OPM 19, OPP 13, and OPX 04. Three SSR primer were informative: STM 2005, RGH- SSR 8, and StI 035. Genetic similarities presented by Phylogenetic tree analysis resulted in two main clusters. The first cluster consisted of Granola, MZ, Ungu (Purple potato), Merah (Red Potato), Local Dieng, Margahayu, Gareta, Vega, NH2, NH1, Klon_17 (K17), and Bliss. The second cluster consisted of X. Granola and MZ having a high genetic similarity with a genetic distance of 0.07 and 0.132. Meanwhile, K17 and X had a low genetic similarity with a genetic distance of 0.31 and 0.987

    The Effect of Stable Manure and Seedling Number on Growth and Yield of Black Rice (Oryza sativa L. Indica)

    Black rice is one of fungtional food sources. The obstacle of its cultivation is availability of qualified seeds and organic fertilizers input. This research aimed to determine the effect of stable manure on growth and yield of black rice, to observe the effect of seddling number per planting hole and to obtain the best combination of stable manure and seedling number on the growth and yield of black rice. The research was conduct in rice field on Karanglewas Kidul village, Karanglewas district, Banyumas, Central Java during April until September 2016. This research used a split plot design, with 3 repetition. The main plot was three type of stable manure (chiken, goat and cow), while the subplot was seddling number (1, 2 and 3). Data was analyzed using ANOVA and DMRT at p 0.05 level. The results showed that chicken manure gave the highest productivity rice of 5.15 tons ha-1. The 1 seedling each hole gave the highest result on panicle length and grain number per panicle. The better combination treatment was chicken manure and three seedling per planting hole wich gave the highest grain yield of 5.38 tons ha-1

    Terjadinya pandemi akibat penyakit dari virus Corona berdampak pada semua lini kehidupan. Tidak hanya kesehatan masyarakat, sektor ekonomi dan pangan juga terancam krisis. Pembatasan mobilitas manusia membuat banyak kegiatan kemasyarakatan tertunda bahkan gagal. Kegiatan KKN tematik yang sedianya dilaksanakan secara berkelompok untuk mengelola sampah organik di desa Darmakradenan Kecamatan Ajibarang tidak dapat dilaksanakan. Sebagai upaya tanggap pandemi covid-19, kegiatan KKN dilakukan secara mandiri sesuai domisili mahasiswa dengan tema tanggap covid-19. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kepada masyarakat dalam hal budidaya pertanian di lahan pekarangan untuk memenuhi sebagian kebutuhan pangan keluarga di masa pandemi. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode partisipatif dengan mengajak masyarakat melakukan sekaligus memperlajari secara bersama-sama budidaya ikan dan sayuran dalam ember (budikdamber), budidaya sistem hidroponik sederhana, pembuatan pupuk dari limbah dapur dan menyemai benih tanaman sayur. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat sekaligus peningkatan minat melakukan budidaya ikan dan sayuran di pekarangan rumah

    Penerapan Teknologi Budidaya Pepaya Calina Menggunakan Bibit Unggul dan Sistem Pertanaman Intensif di Lahan Tegalan Desa Patemon, Purbalingga, Jawa Tengah

    ABSTRAK: Lahan tegalan di Desa Patemon belum dimanfaatkan optimal. Sebagian warga membudidayakan pepaya calina di lahan tegalan namun tingkat produksi buah pepaya yang dihasilkan masih rendah. Keterbatasan bibit pepaya unggul dan penerapan teknologi budidaya yang kurang optimal menjadi penyebab utama. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan teknologi budidaya pepaya calina menggunakan bibit unggul dan sistem pertanaman intensif di Desa Patemon, Kecamatan Bojongsari, Kabupaten Purbalingga, Provinsi Jawa Tengah. Kegiatan ini melibatkan khalayak sasaran, yaitu Kelompok Tani “Warakan”. Metode yang digunakan adalah 1). Kegiatan transfer pengetahuan dan teknologi mengenai budidaya pepaya calina menggunakan bibit unggul dan sistem pertanaman intensif, 2). Pembuatan demonstrasi dan plot (demplot) pepaya seluas 1400 m2, dan 3). Pelatihan pembuatan pestisida nabati. Hasil yang diperoleh: 1). Petani mendapatkan pengetahuan dan pengalaman budidaya pepaya calina menggunakan bibit unggul dan sistem pertanaman intensif , 2). Demplot budidaya 200 bibit pepaya calina seluas 1400 m2 sebagai percontohan bagi para petani, 3). Petani mendapat pengetahuan dan keterampilan membuat pestisida nabati untuk mengendalikan hama tanaman pepaya, 4). Tanaman pepaya yang dibudidayakan berbunga dan berbuah lebih cepat, serta memiliki tinggi lebih pendek dibanding tanaman pepaya yang sudah dibudidayakan petani sebelumnya.Kata kunci: Pepaya calina, Kelompok Tani Warakan, Desa Patemon ABSTRACT: Tegalan land in Patemon Village has not been optimally utilized. Some residents cultivated papaya in Tegalan land but the production rate of papaya fruit is lower than target. This activity is aimed to apply calina papaya cultivation technology using superior seed and intensive cultivation system in Patemon Village, Bojongsari District, Purbalingga Regency, Central Java Province. This activity involves the target audience, the "Warakan" Farmer Group. The method used 1). Transfer of knowledge and technology on papaya cultivation using superior seed and intensive cultivation system, 2). Demonstration and plot (demplot) of papaya on 1400 m2 tegalan land, and 3). Biopesticide formulation training. Results obtained: 1). Farmers gained knowledge and experience of papaya cultivation using superior seeds and intensive cultivation system, 2).     APLIKASI BUDIDAYA TANAMAN SAYUR DAN BUAH SERTA DAMPAKNYA TERHADAP KONSUMSI SAYUR DAN BUAH PADA SISWA SDN 1 PANDAK DAN SDN 1 SUMAMPIR KABUPATEN BANYUMAS

    Abstract. This activity aims to carry out the application of organic vegetable and fruit cultivation in SDN 1 Pandak and SDN 1 Sumampir, Banyumas Regency, Central Java Province and find the impact on the level of consumption of vegetables and fruit. The target audiences are the fifth-grade students of SDN 1 Pandak, Baturraden District and SDN 1 Sumampir, North Purwokerto District, Banyumas Regency. The activity was carried out for ten months with several methods such as organic vegetable and fruit cultivation training from seeding, planting, to harvesting. The vegetable and fruit products from further cultivation were processed into food products made from vegetables and fruits. These various food products were served to students to be enjoyed together. The researcher then observed the impact of the activity from the pre-test and post-test answers. The results showed that the application activities of vegetable and fruit cultivation organically in both partner schools can be carried out properly. The vegetable and fruit products were successfully harvested and served in the form of processed food. This activity has an impact on increasing the frequency of consumption of vegetable and fruit. The frequency of frequent consumption of vegetable in SDN 1 Pandak increased from 65.79% to 89.47%, while in SDN 1 Sumampir increased from 96.15% to 98.08%. The frequency of fruit consumption frequency in SDN 1 Pandak increased from 81.58% to 97.37%, while in SDN 1 Sumampir increased from 57.69% to 86.54%.Keywords: Vegetable and fruit cultivation, SDN 1 Pandak, SDN 1 SumampirAbstrak. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk melakukan aplikasi budidaya tanaman sayur dan buah secara organik pada SDN 1 Pandak dan SDN 1 Sumampir, Kabupaten Banyumas dan mengetahui dampaknya terhadap tingkat konsumsi sayur dan buah. Khalayak sasaran adalah Siswa Kelas V SDN 1 Pandak, Kecamatan Baturraden, Kabupaten Banyumas dan SDN 1 Sumampir, Kecamatan Purwokerto Utara, Kabupaten Banyumas. Kegiatan dilakukan selama sepuluh bulan dengan metode yang dilakukan berupa pelatihan budidaya tanaman sayur dan buah secara organik, dari mulai penyemaian, penanaman, sampai pemanenan. Produk sayur dan buah hasil budidaya lebih lanjut diolah menjadi produk makanan berbahan sayur dan buah. Aneka produk makanan ini disajikan kepada siswa untuk dapat dinikmati bersama. Dampak kegiatan diamati secara seksama melalui jawaban pre-test dan post-test. Hasil menunjukkan kegiatan aplikasi budidaya tanaman sayur dan buah secara organik pada kedua sekolah mitra dapat dilaksanakan dengan baik. Produk tanaman sayur dan buah berhasil dipanen dan disajikan dalam bentuk makanan olahan berbahan/berkomposisi sayur dan buah. Kegiatan ini berdampak kepada peningkatan frekuensi konsumsi sayur dan buah. Frekuensi tingkat keseringan konsumsi sayur di SDN 1 Pandak meningkat dari 65,79% menjadi 89,47%, sedangkan di SDN 1 Sumampir meningkat dari 96,15% menjadi 98,08%.     Optimalisasi Pengelolaan Pertanian Terpadu Guna Mendukung Terwujudnya Desa Mandiri Energi di Desa Sokawera, Kabupaten Banyumas

    Most residents in Sokawera Village work as farmers. Population income figures are relatively low, averaging less than IDR 10,000/capita/day. Sokawera village has local potentials that have not been optimally managed, namely independent cattle farms and smallholder coconut plantations. The aim of this activity is to empower the community to optimize the management of eco-friendly integrated agriculture sourced from local potential to support the realization of an energy self-sufficient village. The strategy used in this activity is through the PRA (Participatory Rural Appraisal) approach through the methods of education, training, demonstration plots, and assistance and are equipped with learning techniques while working (learning by doing). This activity began with the implementation of extension activities and transfer of knowledge about the benefits of eco-friendly integrated agriculture, training on the making and utilization of local resources to support the optimization of the management of eco-friendly integrated farming systems such as cattle dung into biogas, biogas waste into liquid and solid organic fertilizers, and coconut shell waste into liquid smoke biopesticides, training in making demonstrations and plots (demonstration plots) of healthy vegetable cultivation, training in processing local agricultural products into value-added products, and training in product marketing strategies through the design and manufacture of attractive product packaging. This activity provides knowledge and skills to the target community regarding the management of local potential such as cow dung waste and coconut shell to optimize environmentally friendly integrated agriculture.     PENERAPAN TEKNOLOGI BERKEBUN SAYUR SECARA VERTIKULTUR PADA SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR DI PURWOKERTO, JAWA TENGAH

    Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah (1). Mentransfer pengetahuan dan teknologi berkebun sayur dengan teknik vertikultur kepada siswa SDN 3 Bancarkembar, Kecamatan Purwokerto Utara, Kabupaten Banyumas, Provinsi Jawa Tengah, (2). Mengedukasi siswa Sekolah Dasar (SD) tentang beragam jenis tanaman sayur dan manfaat yang dikandungnya, (3). Meningkatkan kecintaan siswa terhadap kegiatan berkebun, dan (4). Mendorong peningkatan konsumsi sayur pada anak-anak SD. Metode yang digunakan adalah (1). Pembuatan demonstrasi dan plot (demplot) vertikultur tanaman sayur, (2). Melakukan kegiatan berkebun tanaman sayur dengan teknik budidaya yang tepat, (3). Mentransfer pengetahuan tentang beragam jenis sayur dan manfaat yang dikandungnya Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan siswa dalam berkebun sayur dengan teknik vertikultur sebesar 300% dibanding sebelum dilakukan pelatihan. Pengetahuan siswa tentang beragam jenis sayur juga mengalami peningkatan dari yang sebelumnya terdapat sebagian yang tidak mengetahui gambar tanaman bayam dan caisim menjadi 100% mengetahui gambar tanaman tersebut. Tingkat ketertarikan siswa terhadap berkebun sayur juga meningkat dari cukup tertarik menjadi sangat tertarik. Tingkat kesukaan siswa terhadap sayur meningkat menjadi hanya 2 siswa yang tidak suka dari 5 siswa sebelum pelatihan. Terjadi juga peningkatan pengetahuan siswa terhadap manfaat sayur dari 90% sebelum pelatihan menjadi 100% setelah pelatihan.

    PENERAPAN SISTEM PADI ORGANIK DENGAN APLIKASI AGENS HAYATI P60 DAN URINE KELINCI DI DESA PIASA KULON KABUPATEN BANYUMAS

    Abstract. Organic farming systems are environmentally friendly cultivation systems because without application of external inputs of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. In order to increase the knowledge of understanding of farmers, demonstration plots of organic farming systems were carried out, especially on rice plants. The objective of this service activity is to increase knowledge and understanding and its application to the Ngudi Mratani farmer group regarding the organic method of rice systems through the application of microbial agent and rabbit urine based on results of research conducted at higher education institutions (Unsoed) that have the potential to be applied on land farmers and have high yield potency. The application of rabbit urine-based POC, coconut shell liquid smoke and Bio P 60 is applied to paddy planting demonstration plots and compared to other farmers who apply organic methods in different areas. The results of the activity showed that there was an increase in the absorption of knowledge, an increase in knowledge and understanding and the potential for success of 78.5%, 79.5% and 60%, respectively, which indicated good and potentially successful criteria. The yield of rice obtained in general by application organic rice system ranges from 4.6 to 6.0 t/ha. The application of rabbit urine POC showed the best results with a production of 6.02 t/ha.Keywords: Organic rice, rabbit liquid fertilizer (POC), coconut shell liquid smoke, Bio P 60.Abstrak. Sistem pertanian organik merupakan sistem budidaya yang ramah lingkungan karena tidak menggunakan input eksternal pupuk dan pestisida hayati. Untuk bisa meningkatkan pengetahuan pemahaman petani maka dilakukan demplot sistem pertanian organik khususnya pada tanaman padi. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman serta penerapannya pada kelompok tani Ngudi Mratani mengenai metode padi sistem organik dilakukan melalui aplikasi mikroba dan urine kelinci dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan di lembaga pendidikan tinggi (Unsoed) yang memiliki potensi untuk diterapkan di lahan petani dan memiliki daya hasil yang cukup tinggi. Aplikasi POC berbasis urine kelinci, asap cair tempurung kelapa dan Bio P 60 diterapkan pada demplot pertanaman padi dan dibandingkan dengan petani lain yang menerapkan metode organik di area yang berbeda. Hasil kegiatan menunjukan bahwa terjadi peningkatak penyerapan pengetahuan, peningkatan pengetahuan dan pemahaman dan potensi keberhasilan masing-masing 78,5%, 79,5% dan 60% yang mengindikasikan kriteria baik dan berpotensi berhasil. Hasil padi yang diperoleh secara umum dari penerapan sistem padi organik ini berkisar antara 4,6 – 6,0 t/ha.     Karakter Morfo-fisiologi dan Hasil Padi Gogo Toleran Kekeringan

    The objective of this study was to obtain varieties with high yield along with proper morpho-physiological characters under drought condition. Eleven varieties of upland rice i.e., Gilirang, Situ Patenggang, Kalimutu, Aek Sibundong, Batutegi, Towuti, Sunggal, Danau Gaung, Way Apo Buru, Danau Tempe, and Situ Bagendit were characterized based on morphology, physiology, and yield. Non factorial Complete Randomized Block Design was used with three times repetition. Parameters measured were morphological characters, physiological characters, and yield components. Morphological characters measured were plant height, number and area of leaf, shoot dry biomass, tiller number, and total root length. Physiological characters measured were plant growth rate, net assimilation rate, and relative growth rate. Yield components measured were number and length of panicle, number of seeds per panicle, 1000 seeds weight, weights of seed per panicle, weights of seed per plot, and weights of seed per hectare. The results showed that Danau Tempe variety had better characters against drought stress compared to the other varieties with higher yields supported by high plant growth rate, relative growth rate, chlorophyll content and leaf area with low accumulation of proline content and short root length.   Keywords: drought, morphological character, upland rice variety, yiel
