Pelaksanaan Pemilihan Kepala Desa Daleman Kecamatan Kedungdung Kabupaten Sampang
This article discusses about a political shari’ah’s view on the implementation of the village’s head election in Daleman-Kedungdung-Sampang. The results of the research conclude that the mechanism of the village’s head election starting from the formation of the committee election, the candidates crawl, the campaign, the voice collecting and counting, and the announcement and the establishment of elected candidates. The election committee has done them according to the procedures and not in conflict with the political shari’ah as well as the Regional Regulation of Sampang No. 5 year 2006 concerning the procedures for the nomination, election, appointment and dismissal of the head of the village. However, in its implementation, there was one of the candidates practiced money politics and intimidation where the money politics is banned by Islamic law, while intimidation violates the basic values of the political shari’ah about welfare. It is not also justified under article 15 of Regional Regulation No. 5, article 15 year 2006 of Sampang. In addition to the money politics and intimidation practice, the village’s head election is also tinged with gambling which is obviously forbidden in Islam. However, the Regional Regulation has not clearly set those practices yet
Pengaruh Kompetensi Profesional dan Kompetensi Pedagogik Guru terhadap Pelaksanaan Kurikulum 2013
This study aims to determine the influence between pedagogic competence and teacher professional competence on the implementation of the 2013 curriculum. This study used a multiple regression analysis with the population being the teacher council of SMPN as many as 30 people and MTsN as many as 35 people with a total of 65 people. The research instruments used were the Variable X1 questionnaire (Pedagogic Competence) of 30 questions that had been tested for validity and reliability, the Variable X2 questionnaire (Teacher Professional Competence) as many as 30 questions that had been tested for validity and reliability, and the Variable Y questionnaire (Implementation of the 2013 Curriculum) as many as 30 questions that had been tested for validity and reliability. The results showed the influence of pedagogic competence and professional competence of teachers on the implementation of the 2013 curriculum. From data processing, a double regression equation was obtained between Y = 6.315 + 0.391X1 + 0.377 X2, with a significant level of 0.05 obtained Ftable of 0.66. Because> which is 138.8 >0.66, then reject H0 and accept H1, thus there is an influence of professional competence and pedagogic competence of teachers on the implementation of the 2013 curriculum
Islam and Democracy. Prospects and Possibilities. A Critical Analysis of the Theory of the Religious Democracy of Dr Abdulkarim Soroush
This research is about Islam and democracy and the political theory of ‘democratic religious government’ of Dr Abdulkarim Soroush, an Iranian scholar and one of the leading figures in the debate on Islam and democracy in the Islamic world. The research endeavours to answer several questions: How far has the debate on Islam and democracy developed? Was the Islamic revolution in Iran an Islamic revolution and has it been a step forward for democracy there and an example of the compatibility of Islam and democracy? What are the specificities of Soroush’s political theory and how far are they sustainable? Is he successful in offering, at least in theory, a political model that can accommodate Islam and democracy?
The research puts Soroush’s political theory into context and begins by exploring the background of the debate on Islam and democracy and the debate concerning Shia political thought and the legacy of the Iranian revolution. My research finding in the first chapter is that the political challenges posed by democracy as a political system based on the rule of people, regardless of their faith or gender, have been the most serious challenges Islam and Muslims have faced, especially in the past few decades. It also demonstrates how immature the debate is. The second chapter reveals how the Iranian revolution puts Shia Islam on a new track so that it can neither go back to its isolationist position nor resist the trend of secularisation and democratisation. A religion that, I will argue, was an impediment for democracy and open society, has become a force for reconciliation of the faithful’s spiritual needs and their human rights.
In the third chapter I explore Soroush’s religious beliefs and development in his religious thoughts. I will try to establish in this chapter how he has found Islam to be exposed to scholarly debate and an easy target for modern Muslim scholars and intellectuals equipped with modern methodology to rehearse it, adjust it and rationalise it in order for it to become compatible with modern forms of life and human rights. I also demonstrate in this chapter that whatever the contents of Soroush’s political theory, he is a faithful Muslim and his religious beliefs do not support a democratic political system.
Soroush’s political theory is the topic of the fourth chapter. In this chapter I have discovered how Soroush removes religious hurdles through his religious theory in order to present his political theory. It appears that Soroush believes what we have in the name of religion is nothing more than our knowledge and interpretations of religion. Since these are human understandings, they are like other human knowledge and, therefore, they are historical products that are timely and open to critical analysis and adjustable to humans’ socially evolving demands. I also explain in the fourth chapter why Soroush feels the existence of religion in public life is under threat and therefore endeavours to reconcile religion with the realities of the modern era to secure a space for religion. In doing this, Soroush loses theoretical consistency because he makes every effort, though unsuccessfully, to become the champion of all across the political spectrum, whether religious or liberal. Soroush’s contribution to the debate on Islam and democracy is significant, but he fails, as it will be argued, to offer a viable political theory on the compatibility of Islam and democracy.
The research concludes with an assessment of the prospects and possibilities of the ideas of compatibility of Islam and democracy and highlights the contradictions and challenges of the idea. The conclusion sets the steps and prerequisites for a serious debate on Islam and democracy and illuminates the tenability of the debate by raising serious doubts about the authenticity of the debate on Islam and democracy
PENGARUH KARAKTERISTIK CORPORATE GOVERNANCE DAN KOMPENSASI KOMISARIS SERTA DIREKSI, TERHADAP MANAJEMEN PAJAK
This study aims to examine the effect of corporate governance characteristics and board of commissioners compensation and also board of directors compensation on tax management. Corporate governance characteristics are measured by the size of board, proportion of independent board and application of corporate governance. Board of commissioners and board of directors compensations are measured using the total amount of compensation received in year divided by firm revenue. While tax management is measured using the effective tax rate. This study also tests several control variables namely firm size, profitability, and leverage. Data for this study are obtained from annual report of non-financial companies listed in Indonesia Exchange Stock (BEI) in 2008-2013. The sampling method used to draw the sample is purposive sampling. The criteria of companies allowed from listed companies in the ratings of CGPI. Final sample is 57 companies from 2008-2013. The hypothesis testing use linear regression analysis. The results show that application of corporate governance and leverage significantly affects the tax management. While size of board, proportion of independent board, compensation, firm size, and profitability did not significantly affect tax management

Study of on-board compression of earth resources data
The current literature on image bandwidth compression was surveyed and those methods relevant to compression of multispectral imagery were selected. Typical satellite multispectral data was then analyzed statistically and the results used to select a smaller set of candidate bandwidth compression techniques particularly relevant to earth resources data. These were compared using both theoretical analysis and simulation, under various criteria of optimality such as mean square error (MSE), signal-to-noise ratio, classification accuracy, and computational complexity. By concatenating some of the most promising techniques, three multispectral data compression systems were synthesized which appear well suited to current and future NASA earth resources applications. The performance of these three recommended systems was then examined in detail by all of the above criteria. Finally, merits and deficiencies were summarized and a number of recommendations for future NASA activities in data compression proposed

Cultural Barriers of Masalembu Island Fisherman Children in Continuing School
Masalembu Island is one of the outer islands of the sea area of Sumenep Regency. Most of the population are fishermen from three main tribes: Madurese, Bugis, and Mandar. One of their big problems in education is the large number of children who do not continue their education, either to high school or university level. This qualitative research aims to explore the cultural barriers for the children of Masalembu Island fishermen that cause them not to continue school. The snowball technique produced six participants, namely three children of fishermen, two heads of fishing families, and one teacher. Researchers used semi-structured interviews and observation methods to collect data, which was then analyzed using five techniques carried out iteratively: data collection, data organization, reading and making memos, description and classification, and interpretation. Analysis of research findings produced five main themes regarding the cultural barriers for fishermen's children to continue school: children as economic support for the family, views on the role of women, juvenile delinquency, the passive role of parents, and failure of college graduates to meet cultural expectations. In short, the cultural barriers of Masalembu Island fishermen children in continuing school are related to the mismatch between children's roles at school and their cultural roles in the family
