Evaluation of many load tests of passive rock bolts in the Czech Republic
Within the research project "FR-TI4/329 Research and development - creating an application system for the design and analysis of soil and rock anchors including the development of monitoring elements", an extensive stage of field load tests of rock bolts was carried out. The tests were conducted at 14 locations with varied rock composition. Before the initial tests, a loading stand was designed and constructed. A total of 201 pieces of tensile tests of bolts having lengths from 0.5 up to 2.5 m, a diameter of 22-32 mm, were performed. These were fully threaded rods, self-drilling rods, and fiberglass rods. The bolts were clamped into the cement and resin. The loading tests were always performed until material failure of bolts or shear stress failure at the interface cement-rock. At each location, basic geotechnical survey was carried out in the form of core drilling in a length of 3.0 metres with the assessment of the rock mass in situ, and laboratory testing of rock mechanics. Upon the completion of testing protocols, rock mass properties analysis was performed focusing on the evaluation of shear friction at the grouting-rock interface
Disaggregating Input-Output Tables by the Multidimensional RAS Method
An unknown input-output table can be estimated by the RAS method when only
its row and column sums are known and some initial structure is assumed. The
RAS approach can also be utilized for disaggregation of an annual national
table to more detailed tables such as regional, quarterly and domestic/imported
tables. However, the regular RAS method does not ensure that the sums of
disaggregated tables are equal to the total table. For this problem, we propose
to use the multidimensional RAS method which besides input and output totals
also ensures regional, quarterly and domestic/imported totals. Our analysis of
the Czech industry shows that the multidimensional RAS method increases the
accuracy of table estimation as well as accuracy of input-output applications
such as the Leontief inverse, the regional Isard's model and the quarterly

Growth dynamics of C60 thin films: effect of molecular structure
The surface morphology and growth behavior of fullerene thin films have been studied by atomic force microscopy and height difference correlation function analysis. In contrast to the large growth exponents (beta) previously reported for other organic semiconductor thin-film materials, a relatively small beta value of 0.39±0.10 was determined. Simulations of (1+1)-dimensional surface lateral diffusion models indicate that the evolution of deep grain boundaries leads to a rapid increase in beta. We suggest that the commonly observed large beta values for organic thin films are due to their intrinsically anisotropic molecular structures and hence different stacking directions between crystallite domains
An Intraday GARCH Model for Discrete Price Changes and Irregularly Spaced Observations
We develop a novel observation-driven model for high-frequency prices. We
account for irregularly spaced observations, simultaneous transactions,
discreteness of prices, and market microstructure noise. The relation between
trade durations and price volatility, as well as intraday patterns of trade
durations and price volatility, is captured using smoothing splines. The
dynamic model is based on the zero-inflated Skellam distribution with
time-varying volatility in a score-driven framework. Market microstructure
noise if filtered by including a moving average component. The model is
estimated by the maximum likelihood method. In an empirical study of the IBM
stock, we demonstrate that the model provides a good fit to the data. Besides
modeling intraday volatility, it can also be used to measure daily realized
volatility
Conventions of Radka Denemarková’s Novel Peníze od Hitlera (Money from Hitler) along with its Reception
Radka Denemarková’s Peníze od Hitlera (Money from Hitler), edited in 2006, is a succesful novel. It has been perceived by critics as a significant work and traslated into ten languages. Despite this positive response, it is my belief that the novel is not an outstanding work. The construction of the text is full of stereotypes. It uses well-worn narrative procedures, conventional images and symbols as well as banal metaphors. That is why the credibility of the characters and situations presented in Peníze od Hitlera disappears very often. There is also a preexisting model of this novel, the play Der Besuch der alten Dame (1956, The Visit of the Old Lady), written by Friedrich Dürrenmatt. Unlike Dürrenmat, Denemarková emphasizes the dark scenes and the melodramatic emotionality of her novel. Therefore, her work is close to conventional clichés.Radka Denemarková’s Peníze od Hitlera (Money from Hitler), edited in 2006, is a succesful novel. Popular Science Models for Electric Power Engineering
Import 22/07/2015Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá teoretickým rozborem a sestavením dvou
elektronických modelů: Jakubova žebříku a Mendocino motoru. This thesis deals with the theoretical analysis and assembling of two
electronic models Jacob's ladder and Mendocino engine. The kontent of this paper is to explain the basic principles of functionality of these devices and to demonstrate the functionality of assembled models. The essence of Jacob's ladder is an arc which is burning between two electrodes. In the case of Mendocino motor is basic creating electromagnetic forces due to the current passing through the coils and their interaction with magnets and photovoltaic effect.410 - Katedra elektroenergetikyvýborn

Jednotlivé kapitoly jsou sestaveny tak, aby nastiňovaly obecnou teorii ochrany před povodněmi a dále návrh ochrany v katastrálním území Chrudichrom. Návrh spočívá v projektu ochranné nádrže.The thesis deals with protection against water from rural areas with a focus on the protection of the village Chrudichromy. The chapters are structured so that outlined the general theory of flood protection and design protection in the cadastral Chrudichromy. The design consists of project protective reservoir.
Influence of process liquids on friction and wear of tools
This bachelor thesis is mainly focused on analyse creating mechanical chip, friction and wear of tools during cutting process. Also there is encompassed their elimination with using process liquids. Here is pointed out character processional liquids, advantage and disadvantage using and also their substitution during dry cutting.
Several Narrative Strategies in Yiddish and Czech Stories
This article deals with six short stories written in Yiddish and Czech analyzing their narrative strategies. In The German by Sholem Aleichem the limited first-person perspective of the story makes it impossible to look into the inner world of the German. Similar characters are presented in Aleichem’s Hard Luck and Elijah the Prophet. At the end of Hard Luck a dialogue breaks the limited perspective. The main character of Isaac Leybush Peretz’s The Shtrayml seems to be a type of naive narrator; in fact, in the last part of the story, he expresses the author’s irony and social criticism. The German by Aleichem probably inspired The Miracle with Julčaby Czech author Ivan Olbracht. Here, however, the protagonist’s perspective is sometimes extended by the author’s perspective. In Ladislav Grosman’s The Bride the contrast between the characters’ and the readers’ expectations is presented by the significant change of the narrator’s point of view. The peripheral narrator concentrated on private life becomes the author’s narrator who knows the future
