    Pembelajaran berperan penting dalam pengembangan berbagai aspek perkembangan yang dimiliki peserta didik meliputi aspek kognitif, afektif  dan psikomotorik. Pembelajaran di SD merupakan pembelajaran tematik terpadu yaitu perpaduan berbagai dimensi pengetahuan meliputi; fakta, konseptual, prosedural, prinsip dan sikap serta nilai atau karakter, baik itu antar maupun inter disiplin ilmu yang dikemas dalam tema-tema. Salah satu bentuk dari hasil belajar tematik pada ranah afektif adalah sikap sosial. Sikap sosial merupakan kecenderungan perlakuan berulang secara sadar individu terhadap suatu objek sosial. Sikap sosial tidak terlepas dari pengetahuan, pemahaman, pengalaman, perasaan dan aspek konatif individu tentang objek sosial. Sikap sosial dapat dikembangkan melalui pembelajaran yang berpusat pada peserta didik (Student-Centre) dengan menerapkan model Cooperative Think Pair Share dalam pembelajaran. Model Cooperative Think Pair Share meliputi tiga bagian utama yakni 1) Think; memikirkan persoalan yang dihadapi, 2) Pair; berpasangan dan mendiskusikan persoalan yang dihadapi, dan 3) Share; mempresentasikan hasil diskusi kelompoknya di depan kelas. TPS juga dapat digunakan sebagai cara mewadahi peserta didik dalam mengkonstruksi pengetahuan dan mengembangkan berbagai aspek kompetensi yang mereka miliki, membantu peserta didik memperoleh pengetahuan tentang cara-cara belajar bagaimana belajar, memperoleh informasi, pengetahuan, ide, keterampilan, nilai, pembentukan cara berpikir, sikap dan berbagai sarana untuk mengekspresikan diri

    Phenomenological glass model for vibratory granular compaction

    A model for weakly excited granular media is derived by combining the free volume argument of Nowak et al. [Phys. Rev. E 57, 1971 (1998)] and the phenomenological model for supercooled liquids of Adam and Gibbs [J. Chem. Phys. 43, 139 (1965)]. This is made possible by relating the granular excitation parameter \Gamma, defined as the peak acceleration of the driving pulse scaled by gravity, to a temperature-like parameter \eta(\Gamma). The resulting master equation is formally identical to that of Bouchaud's trap model for glasses [J. Phys. I 2, 1705 (1992)]. Analytic and simulation results are shown to compare favourably with a range of known experimental behaviour. This includes the logarithmic densification and power spectrum of fluctuations under constant \eta, the annealing curve when \eta is varied cyclically in time, and memory effects observed for a discontinuous shift in \eta. Finally, we discuss the physical interpretation of the model parameters and suggest further experiments for this class of systems.Comment: 2 references added; some figure labels tweaked.     Prolonged enoxaparin therapy compared with standard-of-care antithrombotic therapy in opiate-treated patients undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention

    A novel enoxaparin regimen consisting of intra-arterial bolus (0.75 mg/kg) followed by intravenous infusion (0.75 mg/kg/6 hours) has been developed as a possible solution to the delayed absorption of oral P2Y12 inhibitors in opiate-treated ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients undergoing primary angioplasty. We aimed to study the feasibility of this regimen as an alternative to standard-of-care treatment (SOC) with unfractionated heparin ± glycoprotein IIb/IIIa antagonist (GPI). One hundred opiate-treated patients presenting with STEMI and accepted for primary angioplasty were randomized (1:1) to either enoxaparin or SOC. Fifty patients were allocated enoxaparin (median age 61, 40% females) and 49 allocated SOC (median age 62, 22% females). One developed stroke before angiography and was withdrawn. One SOC patient had a gastrointestinal bleed resulting in 1 g drop in hemoglobin and early cessation of GPI infusion. Two enoxaparin patients had transient minor bleeding: one transient gingival bleed and one episode of coffee ground vomit with no hemoglobin drop or hemodynamic instability. Two SOC and no enoxaparin group patients had acute stent thrombosis. These preliminary data support further study of this novel 6-hour enoxaparin regimen in opiate-treated PPCI patients

    Local Conditions, Not Regional Gradients, Drive Demographic Variation of Giant Ragweed (Ambrosia trifida) and Common Sunflower (Helianthus annuus) Across Northern U.S. Maize Belt

    Knowledge of environmental factors influencing demography of weed species will improve understanding of current and future weed invasions. The objective of this study was to quantify regional-scale variation in vital rates of giant ragweed and common sunflower. To accomplish this objective, a common field experiment was conducted across seven sites between 2006 and 2008 throughout the north central U.S. maize belt. Demographic parameters of both weed species were measured in intra- and interspecific competitive environments, and environmental data were collected within site-years. Site was the strongest predictor of belowground vital rates (summer and winter seed survival and seedling recruitment), indicating sensitivity to local abiotic conditions. However, biotic factors influenced aboveground vital rates (seedling survival and fecundity). Partial least squares regression (PLSR) indicated that demography of both species was most strongly influenced by thermal time and precipitation. The first PLSR components, both characterized by thermal time, explained 63.2% and 77.0% of variation in the demography of giant ragweed and common sunflower, respectively; the second PLSR components, both characterized by precipitation, explained 18.3% and 8.5% of variation, respectively. The influence of temperature and precipitation is important in understanding the population dynamics and potential distribution of these species in response to climate change

    Structural Probe of a Glass Forming Liquid: Generalized Compressibility

    We introduce a new quantity to probe the glass transition. This quantity is a linear generalized compressibility which depends solely on the positions of the particles. We have performed a molecular dynamics simulation on a glass forming liquid consisting of a two component mixture of soft spheres in three dimensions. As the temperature is lowered (or as the density is increased), the generalized compressibility drops sharply at the glass transition, with the drop becoming more and more abrupt as the measurement time increases. At our longest measurement times, the drop occurs approximately at the mode coupling temperature TCT_C. The drop in the linear generalized compressibility occurs at the same temperature as the peak in the specific heat. By examining the inherent structure energy as a function of temperature, we find that our results are consistent with the kinetic view of the glass transition in which the system falls out of equilibrium. We find no size dependence and no evidence for a second order phase transition though this does not exclude the possibility of a phase transition below the observed glass transition temperature.     Maintenance of active chromatin states by HMGN2 is required for stem cell identity in a pluripotent stem cell model

    Background: Members of the HMGN protein family modulate chromatin structure and influence epigenetic modifications. HMGN1 and HMGN2 are highly expressed during early development and in the neural stem/progenitor cells of the developing and adult brain. Here, we investigate whether HMGN proteins contribute to the chromatin plasticity and epigenetic regulation that is essential for maintaining pluripotency in stem cells. Results: We show that loss of Hmgn1 or Hmgn2 in pluripotent embryonal carcinoma cells leads to increased levels of spontaneous neuronal differentiation. This is accompanied by the loss of pluripotency markers Nanog and Ssea1, and increased expression of the pro-neural transcription factors Neurog1 and Ascl1. Neural stem cells derived from these Hmgn-knockout lines also show increased spontaneous neuronal differentiation and Neurog1 expression. The loss of HMGN2 leads to a global reduction in H3K9 acetylation, and disrupts the profile of H3K4me3, H3K9ac, H3K27ac and H3K122ac at the Nanog and Oct4 loci. At endodermal/mesodermal genes, Hmgn2-knockout cells show a switch from a bivalent to a repressive chromatin configuration. However, at neuronal lineage genes whose expression is increased, no epigenetic changes are observed and their bivalent states are retained following the loss of HMGN2. Conclusions: We conclude that HMGN1 and HMGN2 maintain the identity of pluripotent embryonal carcinoma cells by optimising the pluripotency transcription factor network and protecting the cells from precocious differentiation. Our evidence suggests that HMGN2 regulates active and bivalent genes by promoting an epigenetic landscape of active histone modifications at promoters and enhancers

    A new ghost cell/level set method for moving boundary problems:application to tumor growth

    In this paper, we present a ghost cell/level set method for the evolution of interfaces whose normal velocity depend upon the solutions of linear and nonlinear quasi-steady reaction-diffusion equations with curvature-dependent boundary conditions. Our technique includes a ghost cell method that accurately discretizes normal derivative jump boundary conditions without smearing jumps in the tangential derivative; a new iterative method for solving linear and nonlinear quasi-steady reaction-diffusion equations; an adaptive discretization to compute the curvature and normal vectors; and a new discrete approximation to the Heaviside function. We present numerical examples that demonstrate better than 1.5-order convergence for problems where traditional ghost cell methods either fail to converge or attain at best sub-linear accuracy. We apply our techniques to a model of tumor growth in complex, heterogeneous tissues that consists of a nonlinear nutrient equation and a pressure equation with geometry-dependent jump boundary conditions. We simulate the growth of glioblastoma (an aggressive brain tumor) into a large, 1 cm square of brain tissue that includes heterogeneous nutrient delivery and varied biomechanical characteristics (white matter, gray matter, cerebrospinal fluid, and bone), and we observe growth morphologies that are highly dependent upon the variations of the tissue characteristics—an effect observed in real tumor growth

    Radiative transitions among the vector and scalar heavy quarkonium states with covariant light-front quark model

    In this article, we study the radiative transitions among the vector and scalar heavy quarkonium states with the covariant light-front quark model. In calculations, we observe that the radiative decay widths are sensitive to the constituent quark masses and the shape parameters of the wave-functions, and reproduce the experimental data with suitable parameters.Comment: 11 pages, 7 figure
