Experimental demonstration of four-party quantum secret sharing

Secret sharing is a multiparty cryptographic task in which some secret information is splitted into several pieces which are distributed among the participants such that only an authorized set of participants can reconstruct the original secret. Similar to quantum key distribution, in quantum secret sharing, the secrecy of the shared information relies not on computational assumptions, but on laws of quantum physics. Estudio de la pesca atunera venezolana en el Caribe y en el Atlantico oeste, durante 1983 y 1984

L'analyse des statistiques de débarquements de la flotte thonière vénézuelienne est faite mensuellement entre 1983 et 1984. En ce qui concerne le listao (#Katsuwonus pelamis$), l'étude des rendements des canneurs permet de mettre en évidence une période de forte abondance qui s'étale entre décembre et mars. L'analyse de cet indice chez les senneurs montre également une hausse entre novembre et janvier ... Pour finir ce travail, une étude comparative des c.p.u.e. entre 3 secteurs est faite au moyen du coefficient de corrélation non-paramètrique de SPEARMAN. Les fortes corrélations entre les rendements du secteur Ouest-Atlantique (à un moment donné) et ceux situés dans la mer des Caraïbes (un ou deux mois auparavant) pourraient révéler l'existence de migrations le long des côtes vénézueliennes, dans un sens Ouest-Est, pour le listao et l'albacor

Inactivation de la thrombine par l'urine humaine normale.

Les urines humaines normales inactivent immédiatement la thrombine ajoutée quand leur pH est acide ou au moindre degré quand leur pH est a1calin. Quand le pH d'urine est neutral ou légerement alcalin l'inactivation de thrombine est faible ou s'annule. Après une incubation de 10 et 20 minutes de l'urine avec la thrombine l'inactivation ne subit pas de changements essentiaux. Les résultats obtenus in vitro démontrent que l'alcalinisation d'urine a l'aide d'une diète appropri&#233;s ou des remèdes pharmacologiques peuvent favorablement influencer les hémorragies imminentes ou d&#233;ja existantes du systeme urinaire.</p

Der einfluss von epsilon-aminokapronsaure (eaca) auf die plasma-gerinnungszeit

Man bestimmte die Gerinnungszeit einer Mischung von 0.1 ml des frischen Zitratplasmas, 0.1 ml einer Epsilon-Aminokaprons&#228;ure-L&#246;sung in Konzentrationen von 0, 02, 0.5, 2.5, 10, 20, 50 und 100 gamma, 0.1 ml CaCl&#178; L&#246;sung und 0.1 ml Michaelis' Puffer. Die erw&#228;hnten EACA-Konzentrationen hatten keinen charakteristischen Einfluss auf die Rekalzifikationszeit des frischen und des gel&#246;sten lyophilisierten Plasmas.</p

Decoherence-Free Quantum Information Processing with Four-Photon Entangled States

Decoherence-free states protect quantum information from collective noise, the predominant cause of decoherence in current implementations of quantum communication and computation. Here we demonstrate that spontaneous parametric down-conversion can be used to generate four-photon states which enable the encoding of one qubit in a decoherence-free subspace. The immunity against noise is verified by quantum state tomography of the encoded qubit. Perceptions of the intergroup structure and anti-Asian prejudice amongst white Australians

Proof oSubjective intergroup beliefs and authoritarianism were assessed in a field study (N= 255) of White Australians’ anti-Asian stereotyping and prejudice. A social identity analysis of intergroup prejudice was adopted, such that perceptions of the intergroup structure (instability, permeability, legitimacy and higher ingroup status) were proposed as predictors of higher prejudice (blatant and covert) and less favorable stereotyping. Consistent with the social identity approach, both independent and interacting roles for sociostructural predictors of Anti-Asian bias were observed, even after demographic and personality variables were controlled. For example, perceived legitimacy was associated with higher prejudice when White Australians’ status position relative to Asian Australians was valued. Moreover, when participants evaluated Whites’ position as unstable and high status or legitimate, perceptions of permeable intergroup boundaries were associated with anti-Asian bias. The present findings demonstrate status protection responses in advantaged group members in a field setting, lending weight to the contention that perceptions of sociostructural threat interact to predict outgroup derogation. A Network of microRNAs Acts to Promote Cell Cycle Exit and Differentiation of Human Pancreatic Endocrine Cells.

Pancreatic endocrine cell differentiation is orchestrated by the action of transcription factors that operate in a gene regulatory network to activate endocrine lineage genes and repress lineage-inappropriate genes. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are important modulators of gene expression, yet their role in endocrine cell differentiation has not been systematically explored. Here we characterize miRNA-regulatory networks active in human endocrine cell differentiation by combining small RNA sequencing, miRNA over-expression, and network modeling approaches. Our analysis identified Let-7g, Let-7a, miR-200a, miR-127, and miR-375 as endocrine-enriched miRNAs that drive endocrine cell differentiation-associated gene expression changes. These miRNAs are predicted to target different transcription factors, which converge on genes involved in cell cycle regulation. When expressed in human embryonic stem cell-derived pancreatic progenitors, these miRNAs induce cell cycle exit and promote endocrine cell differentiation. Our study delineates the role of miRNAs in human endocrine cell differentiation and identifies miRNAs that could facilitate endocrine cell reprogramming

“It's my language, my culture and it's personal!” Migrant mothers' experience of language use and identity change in their relationship with their children: an interpretative phenomenological analysis

The question of how migrants’ language use impacts their ethnic identity has received considerable attention in the literature. There is, however, little understanding of how this relationship manifests or is negotiated in interethnic families. This paper presents an in-depth exploration of Spanish mothers’ experiences of Spanish- and English-language interactions with their English-born children. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with Spanish mothers living in Britain in interethnic partnerships and transcripts were subjected to interpretative phenomenological analysis. Analysis reveals a process of identity change where participants’ shifting ethnic identifications with host and heritage culture is intimately related to their language use with their children. Pivotal to this process is the participants’ need to maintain their ‘Spanish mother’ identity, a desire that can only be fulfilled by transferring their heritage language to their children and speaking it with them. Findings reveal how this dynamic impacts perception of family roles, relationship quality and psychological well-being
