In the context of testing and examination, the assessment of texts presents a particular challenge. Since textual competence cannot be measured directly, it is assessed indirectly via textuality criteria. In the field of foreign language testing, a target-oriented text production is set as a task; this is also the case in the DSH (Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang = German Language Test for University Entrance). DSH text productions are evaluated by means of an analytical evaluation sheet with textuality criteria and in case of passing the exam reported in three levels: DSH-1, DSH-2 and DSH-3. This paper deals with an investigation conducted on DSH text productions to determine which textuality criteria are characteristic for each DSH

EPIdemiology of Surgery-Associated Acute Kidney Injury (EPIS-AKI) : Study protocol for a multicentre, observational trial

More than 300 million surgical procedures are performed each year. Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common complication after major surgery and is associated with adverse short-term and long-term outcomes. However, there is a large variation in the incidence of reported AKI rates. The establishment of an accurate epidemiology of surgery-associated AKI is important for healthcare policy, quality initiatives, clinical trials, as well as for improving guidelines. The objective of the Epidemiology of Surgery-associated Acute Kidney Injury (EPIS-AKI) trial is to prospectively evaluate the epidemiology of AKI after major surgery using the latest Kidney Disease: Improving Global Outcomes (KDIGO) consensus definition of AKI. EPIS-AKI is an international prospective, observational, multicentre cohort study including 10 000 patients undergoing major surgery who are subsequently admitted to the ICU or a similar high dependency unit. The primary endpoint is the incidence of AKI within 72 hours after surgery according to the KDIGO criteria. Secondary endpoints include use of renal replacement therapy (RRT), mortality during ICU and hospital stay, length of ICU and hospital stay and major adverse kidney events (combined endpoint consisting of persistent renal dysfunction, RRT and mortality) at day 90. Further, we will evaluate preoperative and intraoperative risk factors affecting the incidence of postoperative AKI. In an add-on analysis, we will assess urinary biomarkers for early detection of AKI. EPIS-AKI has been approved by the leading Ethics Committee of the Medical Council North Rhine-Westphalia, of the Westphalian Wilhelms-University Münster and the corresponding Ethics Committee at each participating site. Results will be disseminated widely and published in peer-reviewed journals, presented at conferences and used to design further AKI-related trials. Trial registration number NCT04165369

Pedagogical formation education certificate program is a training program that enables the 4th grade students of the mathematics department of the science and literature faculty to qualify for the teaching certificate required to become a teacher. The students of Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University mathematics department participates in the course that the education faculty have prepared. In this program, for the practice teaching course, the students spend 2 hours of theory at the faculty and 6 hours of practice in a high school in Niğde city center. The lecturer observes that the students who are carrying out the theoretical part of the course are deficient in the use of tools and materials, are inadequate in preparing the lesson plan, lack of mastery of the subject and lack of skills in using the board: teachers in the application notes that teacher candidates have difficulties in communication with high school students. The purpose of this study is to explain what the formation students think about difficulties encountered by them in in the practice school. It is believed that this study will help students to develop their skills on weekly basis in an activity file that will be prepared in the form of lectures, lesson planning, classroom dominance, appropriate use of equipment.

Relation of history of falls among the elderly to functional ability measurements

Purpose: The Timed Up and Go (TUG) test Incorporates a series of tasks, which are objective measures of functional ability and Independent mobility. The purpose of the study was to compare the TUG scores of older people with and without a history of falling. The elderly generally fall off 1 or 2 steps. The correlation between the 4 stairs test included in the "Timed Movement Battery" (TMB), which evaluates functional mobility in the elderly, and the TUG was also investigated. Material and methods: The time taken to complete the TUG and 4 stairs were recorded for three groups including 30 subjects each, the young control group (YC) had a mean age of 20 years (range = 18-22, SD = 1.39); the elderly without history of falling (NF: non-fallers) 73.3 years (range = 65-86, SD = 6.63) and the elderly with history of falling within the past two years and at least one of them experienced a fall in the last six months (F: fallers) 76.77 years (range = 65-88, SD= 6.62). The significances of data between the groups were analyzed with "one way ANOVA" and the correlation with Pearson Product Moment Correlation. Results: It was seen that there were statistically significant differences between groups In time taken to complete the TUG and 4 stairs tests (p<0.05). There was a very strong correlation between the tests in all subjects studied. Conclusion: Results Indicated that the TUG is an assessment tool that can be used to identify the elderly at risk of falling
