Deniz suyunda bekleme süresi ve bağlantı geometrisi değişiminin hasar yükleri ve hasar tipleri üzerine etkileri deneysel yöntemlerle incelenmiştir. Deniz suyunun etkilerini gözlemlemek amacı ile numuneler 0, 3 ve 6 ay sürelerle deniz suyunda bekletilmiştir. Bağlantı geometrisinin etkilerini belirlemek için; plaka üst kısmından delik merkezine olan mesafenin delik çapına oranı (E/D), iki delik merkezi arasındaki mesafenin delik çapına oranı (K/D), delik merkezinden plakanın uzun kenarı arasındaki mesafenin delik çapına oranı (M/D) ve plakanın genişliğinin delik çapına oranı (W/D) parametre olarak seçilmiştir. Deneysel çalışmada hasar yükleri tespit edilmiş olup, numunelerin deniz suyunda kalma sürelerine bağlı olarak hasar yüklerinin düştüğü gözlenmiştir. Anahtar Kelimeler: Hasar Analizi, Deniz suyu, Pim bağlantısı, Kompozit levhalar,Prepreg.This study investigates failure behaviors of woven glass fiber reinforced epoxy resin composite plates with two parallel pins jointed and under the effect of seawater. The effects of joint geometry and immersion time in seawater were analyzed by experimental methods. In order to observe the effects of seawater, the samples were kept in seawater for periods of 0 month and 3 and 6 months. For the observation of the joint geometry effect on the failure behaviour, the edge distance-to-upper hole diameter (E/D), the two hole-to-hole centre diameter (K/D), the distance from the upper or the lower edge of the specimen to the centre of the hole-to-hole diameter (M/D), and the width of the specimen-to-hole diameter (W/D) ratios were selected as geometrical parameters. In the study, the failure loads of the samples were determined to have decreased depending on an increase in the immersion time in seawater.     Examination Of The Relationship Between Psychological Resilience Levels Of Psychological Counselors And Methods Of Coping With Stress According To Some Variables

    It is aimed to figure out how the relationship between psychological resilience levels of psychological counselors and methods of coping with stress differs according to some variables with this research. The sample of the study consisted of 331 psychological counselors. In the study, Short Psychological Resilience Scale, Stress Coping Attitudes Inventory/Scale (SCAS) and personal information form were used as measurement tools. The collected data were analyzed through the SPSS 25 package program. The data were analyzed using independent sample t-Test, one-way ANOVA and correlation methods. In the study, it was observed that psychological resilience and methods of coping with stress differed according to the gender and age of the counselors; that married counselors used the avoidance-isolation attitude more in coping with stress than single counselors; that, however, psychological resilience and other stress coping attitudes of psychological counselors did not differ significantly according to their marital status; that psychological resilience and stress coping attitudes of psychological counselors did not differ significantly according to their educational status; that, according to the variable of years of service, there were significant relationships between psychological resilience levels and attitudes towards coping with stress; that psychological resilience and stress coping attitudes of psychological counselors did not differ significantly according to the types of institutions; that there are significant relationships between psychological resilience and the attitudes of coping with stress, such as active planning, avoidance abstraction, and acceptance-cognitive restructuring

    Animals and Rural Lifestyle Migration   Gurbet Peker   Keywords: Lifestyle migration, rural idyll, animal husbandry, interspecies relationships   This article examines the role of animals and animal husbandry in rural lifestyle migration to the Gotlandic countryside. One area of interest is the significance of animals and animal husbandry as part of migrants’ notions of the rural idyll and the place they seek. The article also describes and analyses animal-related everyday practices and interspecies relationships that are developed between migrants and animals.   The empirical material has been collected using ethnographic methods based on observations and qualitative interviews. The researcher also emerged herself in aspects of the rural lifestyle migration being studied. The informants have all left the city of Stockholm in favour of life in the Gotlandic countryside, where they devote themselves to small-scale animal husbandry and keep sheep, horses, chickens and other animals.   The theoretical foundation is that humans and other animals are in a state of constant becoming-with and, thus, create each other’s lifeworlds. The focus is on analysing everyday practices and how interspecies relationships shape the migrants and their lifestyles. At the same time, the researcher also looks at the way in which discourses affect the migrants’ rural lifestyle migration, both as cultural preconceptions and everyday practices.   The results show that animals and animal husbandry play a central role in the rural idyll and the place that migrants seek. The interspecies relationships are also important for the informants’ socialisation and establishment processes in the Gotlandic countryside. The migrants find their relationships with the animals meaningful and crucial for the established lifestyle. These close everyday relationships lead the informants to renegotiate aspects of their view of animals as well as their view of eating meat. This lifestyle with animals also involves emotional challenges related to slaughter, an aspect of animal husbandry that the migrants find stressful. The interspecies relationships documented in the material are consistently characterised by ambivalence and constant renegotiations. In summary, the article shows that the animals and the animal-related practices are crucial for the lifestyle to which the migrants aspire, the everyday life they establish, as well as for the migration project as a whole

    06.03.2018 tarihli ve 30352 sayılı Resmi Gazetede yayımlanan “Yükseköğretim Kanunu İle Bazı Kanun Ve Kanun Hükmünde Kararnamelerde Değişiklik Yapılması Hakkında Kanun” ile 18.06.2018 tarihli “Lisansüstü Tezlerin Elektronik Ortamda Toplanması, Düzenlenmesi ve Erişime Açılmasına İlişkin Yönerge” gereğince tam metin erişime açılmıştır.Bu araştırmanın amacı, öğretmenlerin, 2018 yılında yenilenen ortaokul matematik dersi öğretim programına yönelik görüşlerinin belirlenmesidir. Araştırma modeli olarak temel nitel araştırma modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada yer alan katılımcıların belirlenmesinde amaçlı örnekleme yöntemleri arasında yer alan maksimum çeşitlilik örneklemesinden faydalanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Sakarya iline bağlı Adapazarı, Erenler ve Serdivan ilçelerinde Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı'na bağlı okullarda görev yapan 11'i erkek, 21'i kadın olmak üzere toplam 32 matematik öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmadaki veriler yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Görüşme formunda; kişisel bilgileri öğrenmek için 5, yenilenen ortaokul matematik dersi öğretim programı hakkındaki görüşleri almak için 7 açık uçlu soruya yer verilmiştir. Görüşmelerden elde edilen veriler içerik analizi yöntemi ile çözümlenmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucu, öğretmenlerin çoğunun yeni matematik programını inceleyip hakkında bilgi sahibi olduğunu göstermiştir. Programlar ilgili, öğretmenlerin tamamının bilgilendirilmediği, bilgilendirme yapılan öğretmenlerin ise bilgilendirmenin yetersiz olduğunu düşündüğü görülmüştür. Öğretmenlerin yenilenen ortaokul matematik dersi öğretim programına yönelik görüşlerini öğrenmek için programın dört öğesine ilişkin verilerin analiz edilmesinin sonucunda, çalışmaya katılan öğretmenlerin çoğunluğunun, kazanımların ve içeriğin azaltılmasına özellikle uzun zamanda az konunun daha derinlemesine öğrenebileceğine olanak tanıyacağından dolayı olumlu yaklaştığı anlaşılmıştır. Ayrıca çalışmaya katılan öğretmenlerin çoğunluğu yenilenen programda bahsi geçen etkin öğrenme tekniklerinden ve alternatif ölçme değerlendirme tekniklerinden haberdar olup, büyük bir kısmı bu teknikleri sınıflarında uygulamaktadır. Teknikleri kullanamayan öğretmenlerin ise en büyük nedeni sınıf mevcutlarının kalabalık, ders sürelerinin ise yetersiz olmasıdır. Araştırmaya katılan öğretmenlerin, programın uygulanmasına ilişkin, program kapsamında yazılmış olan 'dikkat edilmesi gereken hususlar'ı mümkün olduğunca dikkate aldığı görülmektedir. Öğretmenlerin büyük çoğunluğu programın uygulanmasına yönelik sorunlar yaşadıklarını ifade ederken, bu öğretmenlerin bir kısmı sorunun programın kendisinden kaynaklandığını, bir kısmı ise program dışındaki farklı etmenlerin bu sorunlara neden olduğunu belirtmiştir. Araştırmaya katılan öğretmenlerin programa ilişkin birçok unsuru değiştirmek istediği görülmektedir. İsteklerin tamamının; öğrencilerin matematik dersine yönelik olumlu tutum geliştirmesi, dersin daha etkili ve verimli bir şekilde işlenmesi ve öğrencilerin konuları daha iyi öğrenmesi hedefleri ile ifade edildiğini görmek mümkündür.The aim of this study is to determine the opinions of teachers about the curriculum of the secondary school mathematics lesson which was renewed in 2018. The research model is structured in the basic qualitative research model. Maximum diversity sampling, which is among the purposeful sampling methods, was used in determining the participants in the study. The study group consisted of 32 mathematics teachers (11 males and 21 females) working in schools of the Ministry of National Education in Adapazari, Erenler and Serdivan districts of Sakarya province. The data were collected by using semi-structured interview form. In the interview form, 5 questions were asked to know personnel information and 7 open-ended questions were asked to gain their opinions about the renewed secondary school mathematics curriculum. The data obtained from the interviews were analyzed by content analysis method. According to the results of the interview, it was seen that most of the teachers investigate and have knowledge of the new mathematics curriculum. However, the most teachers have not been informed, and the teachers who were informed were found informing insufficient. According to the analysis of the data related to the four elements of the program in order to know the teachers' views about the renewed secondary school mathematics curriculum, the majority of the teachers who participated in the study welcomed the reduction of the gains and the content, especially it allowed to learn more in depth in a long time. In addition, the majority of the teachers participating in the study are aware of the effective learning techniques and alternative assessment techniques mentioned in the renewed program and most of them implement these techniques in their classrooms. Nevertheless, the most important reason for teachers who cannot use the techniques is that the classes are crowded and the time is insufficient. Teachers taking part in the research consider as much as possible the considerations written in the program regarding the implementation of the program. While the majority of the teachers stated that they have had problems in the implementation of the program, some of these teachers stated that the problem stems from the program and some other factors cause problems. As a result, the teachers who participated in the research have wanted to change many things about the program. It is possible to see that all of the requests are stated with the aim of developing students' positive attitude towards mathematics course, more effective and efficient processing of the course and better learning

    Teachers’ Opinions about the Renewed Fifth Grade Mathematics Curriculum and Comparison of Two Versions

    AbstractThe aim of the present study was to determine mathematics teachers’ opinions about the renewed fifth grade mathematics curriculum and to investigate the new mathematics curriculum and the former one comparatively. In the current study, two qualitative research methods namely, document review and semi- structured interview methods were used. With document review, the similarities and differences between the renewed fifth grade mathematics program and the former one were discussed by comparing the two curriculums. The related documents were derived from mathematics curriculum that was published in Turkish Education Board official website. With semi structured interview form, teachers’ opinions about the new curriculum was determined. In the present study, in which the purposeful sampling was used, 18 mathematics teachers were interviewed that worked at schools depending on the Ministry of Education in Sakarya province Ferizli district. The obtained data was analyzed via descriptive statistics. According to findings, the new mathematics curriculum and the former one were similar in general, and teachers had both positive and negative opinions about the new curriculum

    Analysis of 45S rDNA promoter methylation and expression of rRNA transcripts in breast cancer

    Cataloged from PDF version of article.Ribosome biogenesis has a central role in cell growth and proliferation that is usually disrupted in tumor cells by the inactivation of tumor suppressor genes and activation of oncogenes. Ribosomal RNA (rRNA) gene expression is one of the most important factors regulating ribosome production, which is controlled by CG rich 45S ribosomal DNA (rDNA) promoter. The effect of DNA methylation at 45S rDNA promoter on rRNA gene expression is a subject of controversy in the literature. In this thesis, a 434 bp region (-380 bp to +54 bp) spanning both upstream control element (UCE) and core promoter located in 45S rDNA promoter containing 54 CpGs was analysed in breast cancer. We also analysed the related rRNA expression levels in the same samples in order to clarify the role of 45S rDNA promoter methylation on rRNA gene expression. 45S rDNA promoter region was highly methylated (74%-96%) in all cell lines including non-tumorigenic breast cell line (MCF10A). Even though 45S rDNA promoter region of breast cancer cell lines are extensively methylated, rRNAs (18S, 28S, 5.8S and 45S ETS) were expressed independent of the heavy methylation. Expression levels of rRNAs are assessed either using housekeeping genes (ACTB, TBP, ACTB&TBP) or geometric mean of rRNAs (GM-rRNAs). We propose GMrRNA normalization as a new method to identify relative expression differences between rRNA transcripts. Epigenetic drugs 5-Aza-2’-deoxycytidine (5-AZA) and Trichostatin A (TSA) were used to determine the effect of DNA methylation and histone acetylation on rRNA expression. Demethylation with 5-AZA resulted in an unexpected decrease in the expression of all rRNA. TSA treatment did not lead to any significant expression difference in cell lines. To better evaluate the effect of DNA methylation on the expression of rRNA transcripts we analysed the methylation status of 19 breast tumor and matched normal frozen tissue samples. The results showed that majority of the tumors (13/19) have significantly higher methylation levels than their normal pairs. Using the GMrRNA as reference helped us to determine significant differences in the proportionate expression of rRNAs in these tissue samples. The 5.8S rRNA ratio was significantly lower whereas the 18S rRNA ratio was significantly higher in breast tumor samples. Furthermore, the 45S rDNA promoter methylation levels in normal breast tissue samples were negatively correlated with the18S rRNA ratio but this correlation was disrupted in breast tumors. Similarly, rRNA transcript levels were significantly correlated with each other in normal samples, were lost in tumor samples. It is clear that, there is a dysregulation both in rDNA methylation levels and spliced rRNA transcripts specific to breast tumor samples, which was not observed in normal breast tissues. rRNA gene expression is controlled by mechanisms other than promoter DNA methylation. Tumorigenesis may cause disruption of many control mechanisms that are required for proper rRNA expression, splicing and maturation, resulting in a dysregulation of the correlation between spliced rRNA expression levels, which should be investigated further.Karahan, GurbetPh.D

    Lozan Antlaşması, Türkiye'nin uzun ve yıkıcı savaş yılları sonrasında bağımsız bir ülke olarak yaşamasını garanti altına alan bir antlaşmadır. Kurtuluş Savaşı'ı sonrasında Lozan'da itilaf güçleriyle birlikte aynı masaya oturmaya hak kazanan Türkler, konferansın sonucunu uzun süre sabırla beklediler. Bu bekleyişleri 23 Temmuz 1923 günü son buldu. Ve başta kapitülasyonlar olmak üzere bağımsızlıklarını engelleyen tüm yaptırımları kaldırma fırsatı yakaladılar. Bu önemli gün Türkler tarafından uzun yıllar Lozan Sulh Bayramı şeklinde kutlandı. Her yıl Lozan Sulh Bayramı günlerinde üniversite çevreleri, halkevleri ve belediyeler tarafından anma törenleri, konferanslar, yarışmalar düzenlendi. Lozan Sulh Bayramı veya kutlamaları 1923-1950 arasında düzenli, Demokrat Parti'nin iktidara gelişiyle yalnızca sınırlı bir çevre tarafından kutlanan bir gün haline dönüştü. Following the War of Liberation, Turks who is entitled to sit in the same table with Allied forces had awaited patiently the outcome of the conference for a long time. These expectations came to an end on July 23, 1923. They seized an opportunity to lift all sanctions, as primarily capitulations. This important day was celebrated as Lozan Peace Day for many years. Every year, commemoration ceremonies, conferences, conferences were held by university communities, community houses and municipalities in days of Lausanne Peace Day.
