An Unusual Zoonosis: Liver Abscess Secondary to Asymptomatic Colonic Foreign Body

A liver abscess may arise following any insult to gut integrity allowing portal drainage of bacteria to hepatocytes. Foreign bodies such as bones, toothpicks and items of stationery have previously been implicated in compromising gut epithelium. Here we present the case of a 57 year old man suffering from a left liver abscess. This was defined on CT which incidentally also identified a chicken bone protruding through the wall of the distal sigmoid colon. Whilst unwell with upper abdominal pain and sepsis, the presumed source of portal sepsis within the colon remained asymptomatic throughout. Following percutaneous drainage, the liver abscess resolved but the chicken bone had not passed at two months, necessitating atraumatic removal at colonoscopy. A high rate of incidental diagnoses suggests that unidentified foreign bodies may be vastly under recognised in cases of hepatic sepsis. Thus, identification of the precise mechanism of the liver insult demands thorough consideration; foreign body should be considered in all cases

Dr Jagdish Gundara is an Emeritus Professor of the Institute of Education at the University of London and Chairholder of the UNESCO Chair in International Studies and Teacher Education since 2000. Professor Gundara was appointed the Director of the established International Centre for Intercultural Studies at the Institute of Education University of London in July 2012. Professor Gundara is the founding member and the current President of the International Associataion of Intercultural Education (IAIE). His research interests are related to the field of human rights and education in multicultural societies. He is the author of "Interculturalism, Education and Inclusión" (Paul Chapman, 2000) and co-editor of "Intercultural Social Policy in Europe" (Ashgate, 2000). PEMANFAATAN GAS HYDROCARBON UNTUK SISTEM BAHAN BAKAR SEPEDA MOTOR

Bahan bakar merupakan bagian yang tidak dapat dipisahkan dari siklus kerja suatu mesin kendaraan, banyak sekali jenis bahan bakar yang bisa digunakan untuk menunjang pada performance mesin kendaraan yang telah muncul dipasaran antara lain bensin dan pertamax. Disini penulis berhasil mengembangkan suplement bahan bakar guna menyempurnakan pembakaran selain bahan bakar yang telah disebutkan diatas. Gas merupakan zat yang diakibatkan dari penguapan yang bisa teradapat pada zat cair termasuk juga pada bahan bakar. Disini penulis mencoba memanfaatkan gas yang berada pada bahan bakar yang digunakan pada kendaraan baik itu bensin maupun pertamax, gas tersebut digunakan sebagai suplement supaya bahan bakar tersebut bisa dimanfaatkan sepenuhnya tetapi dengan cara diolah terlebih dahulu dengan cara yang khusus. Dari analisis ini dihasilkan rekomendasi terbaik untuk penggunaan suplement bahan bakar pada kendaran yang bisa membuat kendaraan tersebut lebih irit dan bertenaga di akibatkan pembakaran yang sempurn

STUDY KEGAGALAN AKIBAT KOROSI PADA PIPA ECONOMIZER

Failure analysis to the economizer tube of boiler with operation pressure ± 190 bar, in holding time 6 hour have been investigated. The economizer tube is carbon steel, ASTM A210 Grade C, outside diameter ± 51 mm and thickness ± 6 mm. The investigation cause of failure from the economizer tube included : chemical composition and metallography analysis, visual examination at outer and inner fire side, measuring thickness and densities of the scale at inner fire side and wall side, chemical composition analysis of the at surface crust the economizer tube. From the results of visual investigation to both outer and inner fire side of the economizer tube shown that at fire side occur decrease thickness of the wall tube, with minimum thickness are 1.37 mm and 2,50 mm, respectively. Those caused by erosion corrosion result from effect the fly ash. RANCANG BANGUN MESIN PARUT KELAPA SKALA RUMAH TANGGA DENGAN MOTOR LISTRIK 220 VOLT

Proses pemarutan kelapa tenaga yang relatif besar dan kemampuan khusus agar hasilnya baik dan tangan tidak terluka. Untuk mempermudah pemarutan dan menjaga higienitas serta meningkatkan kapasitas pemarutan pada rumah tangga dan industri kecil sudah di buat alat bantu atau mesin parut kelapa banyak mesin parut kelapa di rancang atau di buat dengan berbagai model dan harganya barvariasi. Salah satu rancangan atau desain yang beredar dipasar adalah mesin parut yang menggunakan mesin motor dengan bahan bakar bensin. Mesin ini dirancang sedemikian rupa untuk meningkatkan keselamatan bagi pemakai, mempercepat proses pemarutan kelapa, meningkatkan kapasitas, serta menjaga higienitas dari kelapa parut. Tetapi alat mesin parut kelapa skala rumah tangga dan industri kecil masih relatif mahal. Pada perancangan ini dibuat alat dengan redesain mesin parut kelapa mini untuk mengurangi biaya material dan biaya manufaktur. Melakukan perubahan denga bentuk dan dimensi untuk kerangka dan penyangga. Abstrak: Untuk mengetahui seberapa besar minat siswa terhadap beberapa pelajaran seni yang ada di SD Al-Fath Cirendeu maka dibutuhkan Sistem Pendukung Keputusan (SPK) yang dapat membantu memberikan solusi alternatif. Metode yang digunakan dalam SPK pemilihan program penjurusan seni di SD Al-Fath Cirendeu menggunakan Analityc Hierarchy Process (AHP). Pemilihan seni di SD Al-Fath Cirendeu menggunakan metode AHP disajikan dalam bentuk hasil angka perhitungan yang dapat dipertimbangkan lebih lanjut oleh pihak pengambil keputusan.
