    Time Trends in Simone de Beauvoir’s memoirs ‘Force of Circumstance’

    The conflict of civilizations has not been resolved at the beginning of the 21st century. Attempts to give a worthy place to the dominants of the Indian, African, Arab mentality fill in the gaps in modern literary criticism and reveal the ideas of literary works. Simone de Beauvoir was one of the first to draw attention to the oppression of the colonized peoples in the memoirs ‘Force of Circumstance’. The purpose of the article is to investigate the time trends in the memoirs by Simone de Beauvoir ‘Force of Circumstance’. The methodology is basically based on hermeneutics approach and biographical method. The most important results are the following. S. de Beauvoir interprets African and Algerian culture in order to refute the myth of the "minority" of the thinking of its bearers, to overcome the "secondary" in accordance with the European worldview. Time trends are non-standard choices of subjects and circumstances that contrast with the views of the "majority". S. de Beauvoir's nonconformist position on "white civilization" demonstrates progressive potential. S. de Beauvoir reproduced the general trends of the time, acted as an analyst of social processes. Many of her observations and conclusions have not lost their relevance today

    The publicity dominance is the characteristic of memoirs “Force of Circumstance” by Simone de Beauvoir. The idea of S. de Beauvoir influences the genre transformation. The scientific problem is to clarify the specifics of a genre. The aim of the article is to highlight the features of the genres in the novels, diaries, memoirs, interludes, tragedies, comedies as genre memoirs, to understand better the ideas of the writer. The methodology is represented by a biographical method in the study. The most important findings are as follows. The result is to interpret systematic, structured, orderly procedural writing activities. The attention is drawn to the writing process. Writing is a passion, mania, which is causing an addiction. The meaning of creativity is the knowledge of people, culture, history, progress. Genre transformations are the basis for explaining the problem in the work: the artist's activity and her place in the history. The existential fear of death is a central part of literary existentialism. The writer embodied the death fear in her own works

    The aim of this study is to study the peculiarities of the eating behaviour of children of primary school age, their food preferences, choice of products and attitudes towards school meals, food habits in the choice of products and attitudes towards the school canteen in the context of the implementation of the school meal reform. Materials and methods. A large-scale medical and sociological study was conducted, which included children (5,401) of primary school age (from 6 to 10 years old) and their parents (4,347 people) from various schools in Kyiv, Vinnytsia, and Donetsk regions. The questionnaires included questions about food preferences, frequency of consumption of different foods, attitudes towards school meals and factors that influence food choices. The collected data were processed and analyzed using descriptive statistics methods in Excel. Research results indicate a significant level of awareness of the importance of a healthy diet by most children, but an insufficient level of water consumption, an insufficient understanding of the importance of nutrition for maintaining health by children, high popularity of high-carbohydrate products and a low level of satisfaction of some parents with school meals. Conclusions. The conducted analytical research revealed several educational and organizational problems related to the introduction of healthy food in schools, especially within the framework of reforming school food programs. According to the Strategy for reforming the school nutrition system, compliance with the principles of healthy nutrition, ensuring high-quality, safe and healthy nutrition, and improving the taste properties of school nutrition compliance with the principles of healthy nutrition, is extremely important for the preservation of children's health and the prevention of chronic non-infectious diseases. The results of our research indicate the need for additional educational programs for children and parents, the gradual introduction of new food standards, as well as ensuring the availability of healthy food in school canteens, and the implementation of social projects that will contribute to the formation of healthy eating habitsМетою даного дослідження є вивчення особливостей харчової поведінки дітей молодшого шкільного віку, їхніх харчових уподобань, вибору продуктів та ставлення до шкільного харчування, харчових звичок у виборі продуктів та відношення до шкільної їдальні в контексті реалізації реформи шкільного харчування. Матеріали та методи Проведено масштабне медико-соціологічне дослідження, яке охопило дітей (5401) молодшого шкільного віку (від 6 до 10 років) та їхніх батьків (4347 осіб) з різних шкіл Київської, Вінницької та Донецької областей. Анкети містили питання про харчові уподобання, частоту споживання різних продуктів, ставлення до шкільного харчування та фактори, які впливають на вибір їжі. Зібрані дані було оброблено та проаналізовано за допомогою методів дескриптивної статистики в програмі Excel. Результати дослідження свідчать про значний рівень усвідомлення більшістю дітей важливості здорового харчування, проте визначено недостатній рівень споживання ними води, недостатнє розуміння важливості харчування для збереження здоров’я частиною дітей, високу популярність високовуглеводних продуктів та низький рівень задоволеності частини батьків шкільним харчуванням. Висновки. Проведене аналітичне дослідження виявило ряд освітніх і організаційних проблем, пов'язаних з впровадженням здорового харчування в школах, особливо в межах реформування шкільного харчування. Відповідно до Стратегії реформування системи шкільного харчування дотримання принципів здорового харчування, забезпечення якісного, безпечного та здорового харчування, удосконалення смакових властивостей шкільного харчування, дотримання принципів здорового харчування, є вкрай важливим для збереження здоров'я дітей та профілактики хронічних неінфекційних захворювань. Результати нашого дослідження вказують на необхідність додаткових освітніх програм для дітей і батьків, поступового впровадження нових харчових стандартів, а також забезпечення доступності здорової їжі в шкільних буфетах, впровадження соціальних проектів, що сприятиме формуванню здорових харчових звичо

    War-Induced Disrupted Eating Behaviors in Ukrainian School-Aged Children

    Background and objectives: Russian military aggression in Ukraine has exposed children to extremely high levels of acute and chronic stressors that are incomparable to stress levels in peaceful countries. Such stressors can impact children’s eating behavior, for example, by altering the psychological climate within families. We aimed to determine the prevalence of war-induced, stress-related disruptions in the eating behavior of Ukrainian children. Methods: We used a cross-sectional survey to determine stress-related disordered eating behavior among school-aged children under conditions of stress caused by the war in Ukraine. A total of 5162 parents or guardians used an electronic questionnaire to report changes in the children’s eating behavior (EB) in various stressful conditions, including being in close proximity to the combat zone, residing in occupied or peaceful territories, displacement from homes, abroad, and other. 311 (6%) of participants did not report the age of the child or reported on behalf of a child who was younger than 5 years or older than 17 years, and were thus excluded. Thus, the final sample included 4854 (94%) parents. Results: of the guardians, 63% reported changes in children’s EBs during the war, with the highest frequency observed among 5 to 10-year-olds. The most common EB changes observed during wartime included food cravings (38%), food fussiness (37%), aversion to certain foods (29%), and decreased appetite (24%). 40% of the reported EB changes were long-term, lasting over a month and related to altered attitudes towards food. Food insecurity, residing in occupied territories, and displacement emerged as the most influential determinants of EB changes. Discussion: The findings underscore a significant and robust association between various war-related exposures and an increased risk of frequent eating behavior changes. As healthy eating behaviors are learned during childhood and have been shown to track into adulthood, the identified disruptions in eating behavior may have significant long-term consequences for the physical and mental health of the Ukrainian children. More research is needed to determine whether the intensity of the identified changes in children’s eating habits is linked to the severity of the stressors

    Conditions of blended learning implementation in H. S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University: experience of Physics and Mathematics Faculty

    The entire education system of Ukraine in the realities of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 found itself in a situation of the challenge for the immediate implementation of distance learning in educational institutions of all levels. Despite the presence of a relatively large number of scientific studies on the features of distance education, they were not enough for its practical implementation. A blended form of learning requires a combination of asynchronous and synchronous modes of distance learning, finding optimal tools and ways to interact with students, adapting traditional methods of studying disciplines to new conditions, overcoming inequality of participants in the educational process in technical support, mastering digital technologies. Analysis of the experience of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics at H. S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University showed that the conditions for the introduction of blended learning in institutions of higher pedagogical education are: advanced training and appropriate retraining of teaching staff; building a model of blended learning as a starting point for distance learning; development of educational and methodical support of educational disciplines taking into account the requirements of blended learning; implementation of all elements of the educational process in blended learning; providing participants of the educational process with organizational, methodological, technical and psychological support

    The aim of the research is to investigate the effect of an interactive whiteboard use at English lessons with prospective teachers at school practice and to put the research results into practice. A significant difference was determined in favour of the experimental group, who used an interactive whiteboard systematically at English lessons. The prospective teachers should be prepared well enough to teach English using an interactive whiteboard, as shown by the achievements of young learners participating in the pedagogical experiment.Мета дослідження - дослідити вплив використання інтерактивної дошки на уроках англійської мови з майбутніми вчителями шкільної практики та втілити результати досліджень на практиці. Значна різниця була визначена на користь експериментальної групи, яка систематично використовувала інтерактивну дошку на уроках англійської мови.     The essence, purpose, tasks, approaches, principles, content, forms and methods of methodical training of future teachers of Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science, as well as Masters in Educational and Pedagogical Sciences are revealed. Methodical training of future teachers is considered as one that should provide a synthesis of subject, psychological, pedagogical and methodological knowledge, skills, abilities and personal qualities of applicants for Higher Pedagogical Education.  As the analysis of the experience of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of H.S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National  Pedagogical University, implementation of the developed concept of methodical training of future teachers allows to provide preconditions for creation of a trajectory of their further professional development focused on their personal and professional growth, successful professional self-realization.
