Classification of integrable discrete Klein-Gordon models

The Lie algebraic integrability test is applied to the problem of classification of integrable Klein-Gordon type equations on quad-graphs. The list of equations passing the test is presented containing several well-known integrable models. A new integrable example is found, its higher symmetry is presented.Comment: 12 pages, submitted to Physica Script

An algebraic method of classification of S-integrable discrete models

A method of classification of integrable equations on quad-graphs is discussed based on algebraic ideas. We assign a Lie ring to the equation and study the function describing the dimensions of linear spaces spanned by multiple commutators of the ring generators. For the generic case this function grows exponentially. Examples show that for integrable equations it grows slower. We propose a classification scheme based on this observation.Comment: 11 pages, workshop "Nonlinear Physics. Theory and Experiment VI", submitted to TM

Sub-lattice of Jahn-Teller centers in hexaferrite crystal

A novel type of sub-lattice of the Jahn-Teller (JT) centers was arranged in Ti-doped barium hexaferrite BaFe12O19. In the un-doped crystal all iron ions, sitting in five different crystallographic positions, are Fe3+ in the high-spin configuration (S = 5/2) and have a non-degenerate ground state. We show that the electron-donor Ti substitution converts the ions to Fe2+ predominantly in tetrahedral coordination, resulting in doubly-degenerate states subject to the E⊗ e problem of the JT effect. The arranged JT complexes, Fe2+O4, their adiabatic potential energy, non-linear and quantum dynamics, have been studied by means of ultrasound and terahertz-infrared spectroscopies. The JT complexes are sensitive to external stress and applied magnetic field. For that reason, the properties of the doped crystal can be controlled by the amount and state of the JT complexes. © 2020, The Author(s).Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst, DAADRussian Foundation for Basic Research, RFBR: 18–02–00332 aDeutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst, DAAD: 91728513Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Minobrnauka: 19–53–0401019–72–00055Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, MinobrnaukaThe authors acknowledge fruitful discussions with A.S. Surface waves and crustal structure on Mars

We detected surface waves from two meteorite impacts on Mars. By measuring group velocity dispersion along the impact-lander path, we obtained a direct constraint on crustal structure away from the InSight lander. The crust north of the equatorial dichotomy had a shear wave velocity of approximately 3.2 kilometers per second in the 5- to 30-kilometer depth range, with little depth variation. This implies a higher crustal density than inferred beneath the lander, suggesting either compositional differences or reduced porosity in the volcanic areas traversed by the surface waves. The lower velocities and the crustal layering observed beneath the landing site down to a 10-kilometer depth are not a global feature. Structural variations revealed by surface waves hold implications for models of the formation and thickness of the martian crust.D.K., S.C., D.G., J.C., C.D., A. The problem of unintentional hypothermia in the postoperative period is still an urgent one.The purpose of the work: to assess the effect of the in vitro temperature on the morphology and nanostructure of erythrocyte membranes.Material and methods. 4 containers with erythrocyte suspensions with different blood groups were used; the suspension was packed in sealed containers (400 mL) with CPD blood preservative. The erythrocyte suspension was kept at 4°С. Samples (15 ml) were placed in a thermostat at 20°C and 37°C; then they were placed on the BioRS-24 Mini-Rotator Bioscan (EU) rotator (6—8 rpm). The analysis of the acid-base balance was carried out using the I-510 ionometric converter (Russian Federation). The morphology and nanostructure of erythrocyte membranes were analyzed using an atomic force microscope (AFM) «NTEGRA Prima» (NT-MDT, Russian Federation), in a contact mode, on monolayers prepared using a method of sedimentation in liquid and air.Results. Discocytes were present in monolayers of blood after 1-hour and 12-hour rotation (12±3%) on Day 19 of ES storage at temperature 20°С. The number of echinocytes was 14±2% after a 1-hour rotation and 40±7% after a 12%hour rotation. The number of spheroechinocytes was 74±2% after a 1-hour rotation and 42± 8% after a 12-hour rotation. At a temperature of 37°С, after a 1-hour rotation, four forms of erythrocytes were present in a monolayer: discocytes, echinocytes, spheroechinocytes, and ovalocytes. The distribution of cell forms changed after a 12-hour rotation, and the cells recovered their shapes to discocytes (97±2%).Conclusion. The obtained findings confirm the effect of cooling during erythrocyte preservation. The shape of erythrocytes was changed. The morphological structure of frozen erythrocytes recovers slowly, within 12 hours. It means that the transfusion of red blood cells whose temperature is below 37°C may not be effective for at least 12 hours and the transfusion medium should be warmed to reduce the risk of transfusion of blood products.

Measurement of Angular Coefficients of BˉDνˉ\bar{B} \to D^* \ell \bar{\nu}_\ell: Implications for Vcb|V_{cb}| and Tests of Lepton Flavor Universality

We measure the complete set of angular coefficients JiJ_i for exclusive BˉDνˉ\bar{B} \to D^* \ell \bar{\nu}_\ell decays (=e,μ\ell = e, \mu). Our analysis uses the full 711fb1711\,\mathrm{fb}^{-1} Belle data set with hadronic tag-side reconstruction. The results allow us to extract the form factors describing the BDB \to D^* transition and the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element Vcb|V_{\rm cb}|. Using recent lattice QCD calculations for the hadronic form factors, we find Vcb=(41.0±0.7)×103|V_{\rm cb}| = (41.0 \pm 0.7) \times 10^3 using the BGL parameterization, compatible with determinations from inclusive semileptonic decays. We search for lepton flavor universality violation as a function of the hadronic recoil parameter ww, and investigate the differences of the electron and muon angular distributions. We find no deviation from Standard Model expectations

PURPOSE: The assessment of possibility to add a new indication for the registered pharmaceutical. Evaluation of safety and efficacy of Visomitin® compared to placebo in patients with age-related cataracts. METHODS: A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study of Visomitin® eye drops in patients with age-related cataracts was conducted in accordance with Good Clinical Practice guidance, the Declaration of Helsinki and the Russian regulatory requirements. The study included 80 patients (23 men and 57 women) aged 45 to 75 years with diagnosed age-related cataract. All subjects were randomized into two groups of 40 patients each. In the treatment group patients received Visomitin® eye drops and in the control group, patients were given placebo (vehicle, i.e. eye drops with the same composition as Visomitin® except for the active substance SkQ1) in the form of instillations of one drop per each eye three times daily for six months. The study comprised 7 monthly visits. The following standard ophthalmological examinations were used to evaluate the effectiveness of the therapy: visual acuity measurement, refractometry, biomicroscopy of the eye, ophthalmoscopy, tonometry, computer perimetry, densitometry. At certain visits lacrimal fluid was taken for evaluation of its antioxidant activity. Blood pressure and heart rate were measured as a part of safety evaluation which also included documentation of complaints and adverse events. Concomitant therapies were also documented. RESULTS: Analysis of safety parameters showed Visomitin® to be safe and well tolerated for patients with age-related cataract. Practically no adverse effects were documented during the study. In both groups a decrease of the number of patients with subjective complaints was observed. These complaints included: visual deterioration, dryness, grittiness, burning eyes, eye fatigue. The decrease of the number of complaints in the Visomitin® group was more pronounced than in the placebo group. During the first months of treatment an improvement of visual acuity was observed in both groups. This result can be explained by a protective effect of hypromellose contained in both Visomitin® and placebo. However, between the 4th and the 6th months, the improvement in visual acuity significantly slowed down in the placebo group, while positive dynamics remained the same in the Visomitin® group. At the end of the treatment visual acuity increased by more than 50% in Visomitin® group and remained at the level of 10-15% in the placebo group (statistically significant difference between placebo and Visomitin® groups,

Search for charged-lepton flavor violation in Υ(2S)τ±\Upsilon(2S) \to \ell^\mp\tau^\pm (=e,μ\ell=e,\mu) decays at Belle

We report a search for the charged-lepton flavor violation in Υ(2S)τ±\Upsilon(2S) \to \ell^\mp\tau^\pm (=e,μ\ell=e,\mu) decays using a 25 fb125~\mathrm{fb}^{-1} Υ(2S)\Upsilon(2S) sample collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB e+ee^{+}e^{-} asymmetric-energy collider. We find no evidence for a signal and set upper limits on the branching fractions (B\mathcal{B}) at 90%\% confidence level. We obtain the most stringent upper limits: B(Υ(2S)μτ±)<0.26×106\mathcal{B}(\Upsilon(2S) \to \mu^{\mp}\tau^{\pm}) < 0.26 \times 10^{-6} and B(Υ(2S)eτ±)<1.02×106\mathcal{B}(\Upsilon(2S) \to e^{\mp}\tau^{\pm}) < 1.02 \times 10^{-6}.Comment: 11 pages, 3 figures, Submitted to JHE

    Tests of light-lepton universality in angular asymmetries of B0DνB^0 \to D^{*-} \ell \nu decays

We present the first comprehensive tests of light-lepton universality in the angular distributions of semileptonic \Bz-meson decays to charged spin-1 charmed mesons. We measure five angular-asymmetry observables as functions of the decay recoil that are sensitive to lepton-universality-violating contributions. We use events where one neutral \B is fully reconstructed in \PUpsilonFourS{} \to\B\overline{B} decays in data corresponding to \lumion integrated luminosity from electron-positron collisions collected with the \belletwo detector. We find no significant deviation from the standard model expectations
