Considerations on the Spanish Curriculum of Secondary Education in Senegal: Design, Development and Suggestions For Improvement

Conseguir que el alumnado de español en Senegal aprenda de manera significativa no es sólo cosa del profesorado. El propio alumnado, así como su entorno familiar, la sociedad, las autoridades educativas tanto a nivel del centro como a nivel estatal... han de aportar su grano de arena. Para que así sea, se debe planificar, diseñar y desarrollar un currículum interesante que tome en cuenta los contextos socioculturales, sociopolíticos y socioeconómicos del alumnado. La meta principal de este trabajo es dar a conocer el currículum que utilizan los profesores de español en Senegal y eventualmente hacer propuestas encaminadas a mejorarlo.Succeeding in leading Senegalese students to learn in a significant way, successfully, is not an exclusive task of teachers. The students themselves, as well as their family, society in general and all educative authorities..., have to participate, playing important roles. To achieve that goal, it’s necessary to plan, design and implement an interesting curriculum that has sociocultural, sociopolitical and socioeconomic contexts of learners in mind. The main objective of this work is to inform about the curriculum that Spanish teachers are using in Senegal and, eventually, offer proposals intended to improve it

CONSIDERACIONES GENERALES ACERCA DE LA ENSEÑANZA Y APRENDIZAJE DE LA LENGUA ESPAÑOLA EN SENEGAL

-Este trabajo es un estudio acerca de la enseñanza de la lengua española en Senegal. En él se resaltan algunos aspectos tales como el número de discentes y de docentes de español que hay en el sistema educativo senegalés, pero abarca también aspectos metodológicos, curriculares, etc. Al mismo tiempo, analiza la política educativa actual, emprendida por las autoridades gubernamentales, así como la formación del profesorado, la organización de la enseñanza y aprendizaje del español, sobre todo en Secundaria. -This paper is part of a research project on teaching and learning Spanish in Senegal. It discusses present educational policies, specifically teacher training and the way the teaching/learning process is organized at secondary school level. It also looks at aspects such as the number of students and teachers of Spanish in the Senegalese educational system, as well as some methodological and curricular aspects

Ectopia cordis about a case at Ourossogui regional hospital center

We report in this work, an extremely rare and major case of anterior body wall defects included ectopia cordis define by abnormal location of heart outside of the thorax. This case was diagnosed at the maternity of Ourossogui regional hospital center, in Senegal. Any scan was performed during the pregnancy. Newborn died 10 minutes after birth. Ectopia cordis is related to a possible ventral midline developmental abnormality. It’s associated to other midline abnormalities and is a part of pentalogy of Cantrell. An X-linked genetic abnormality

Influence des paramètres d'usinage et de chargement sur le comportement en fatigue des attaches à doigts d'ailettes de turbine à vapeur

Not availableCette contribution à l'étude du comportement en fatigue de la liaison d'attaches d'ailettes à doigts de turbines à vapeur est axée sur l'influence des paramètres d'usinage (formes géométriques, états de surface) et de chargement (taux de traction, torsion et flexion) sur la limite d'endurance. Après une étude bibliographique, plusieurs essais sont effectués sur une machine conçue et fabriquée spécialement pour tester l'assemblage ailette/disque dans les conditions de service. Diverses méthodes de détermination de la limite d'endurance (Escalier, Locati) sont appliquées à l'air et en milieu corrosif aqueux. Les résultats sont explicites et une analyse métallographique des éprouvettes rompues est effectuée. Une simulation numérique reprenant les conditions expérimentales est effectuée et un modèle de prise en compte de la contrainte moyenne en fonction de la ductilité du matériau est propos

Trend in Antibiotic Resistance of and Strains Isolated from Community Acquired Respiratory Tract Infections in Dakar, Senegal between 2005 and 2008

Development of antibiotic resistance among common respiratory pathogens is a major cause of concern worldwide. Streptococcus pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae are among the most common respiratory pathogens. In this study, representative samples obtained from 3 different medical centers in Dakar, Senegal were subjected to antibiotic susceptibility testing. The samples were collected from 2005 to 2008 and the data obtained was compared to establish resistance patterns between the two years (i.e. 2005–2006 to 2007–2008). S. pneumoniae exhibited a significant increase in the resistance to azithromycin and the intermediate susceptibility to penicillin G and cotrimoxazole. H. influenzae also exhibited a significant increase in resistance to azithromycin and intermediate susceptibility to chloramphenicol. None of H. influenzae samples were resistant to amoxicillin/clavulanic acid, cephalosporin and fluroquinolones and most of the S. pneumoniae isolates demonstrated high susceptibility to the antibiotics tested. Results from this study will provide greater insights to antibiotic therapy during respiratory tract infections in Dakar, Senegal. This study also establishes the importance of continuous monitoring of antibiotic susceptibility patterns that are often region-specific
