An Interactive Research Study on For-Profit Microfinance and its Continued Social Impact

Though the world is changing rapidly, the problem of poverty and the push for human development have been debated for as long as anyone can remember. Outdated strategies for human development are not sustainable in this new globalized world. The relatively young and growing field of microfinance is hoping to be the answer for sustainable human development and poverty elimination. This study analyzes the impact of microfinance on human development through two major questions. Firstly, to what extent and in what ways can microfinance impact the poor? This research question is multifaceted and will seek to address some of the major criticisms of the microfinance field. Next, has the expansion of the field into for-profit models of microfinance impacted the original goals of microfinance or the ability for these goals to be realized? In other words, is it possible for profit seeking companies to remain accountable and true to the social development objective of the field? The data from this study consists of information from interactive research. The research supports the diversification of the field of microfinance has had a largely positive impact, though it has hurt the public opinion of the field. In regards to impact on human development the research shows first and foremost it is difficult to measure the overall influence on microfinance via controlled studies. Nevertheless, nearly all experts agreed microfinance has a positive and sustainable social impact on the poor

Interopérabilité et web sémantique : le cas d'une plateforme de publication d'articles scientifiques en sciences de gestion

International audienceThis article deals with the question of interoperability between Knowledge Organization Systems, taking into example a small repository of scientific article in Management Science. The use of simple Dublin Core and additional Dublin Core Elements with specific and local application profile is more and more used by database system. Nowadays, qualified Dublin Core is encoded in terms of RDF, the Resource Description Framework, is an answer to harvest metadata from repository with for example COINS (ContextObjects in Spans). But according to SAFARI methodology, we should go to the semantic web and be able to write better taxonomy, to develop really standardized language such as SKOS and to use standardized vocabularies. And in this article we will ask some questions about the development of theses standardized vocabularies used in management sciences.Cet article s'intéresse à la question de la question essentielle de l'interopérabilité entre systèmes d'organisation des connaissances en prenant le cas d'une plateforme de publication d'articles scientifiques en sciences de gestion. L'utilisation du Dublin Core simple et/ou étendue avec un profil d'application spécifique à une discipline est largement utilisée par des entrepôts de données pour l'exportation des métadonnées. L'arrivée du Dublin Core Qualifié, exprimé sous le format RDF (Resource Description Framework) est une réponse immédiate au moissonnage des entrepôts de données, notamment avec les Coins (ContextObjects in Spans). Mais il faut aller plus loin selon la méthode SAFARI qui conseille de rédiger une taxonomie, de développer un langage standardisé SKOS, voir d'utiliser des vocabulaires contrôlés pour intégrer le web sémantique. Et dans cet article nous nous intéresserons donc à la question délicate des classifications et des vocabulaires contrôlés qui pourraient être définis dans le cadre spécifique des sciences de gestion

Enjeux esthético-idéologiques du stéréotype dans les derniers romans de Mongo Beti

Cette réflexion se propose d’actualiser le concept de stéréotype, habituellement réservé aux sciences sociales, dans l’exploration du texte littéraire. Nous observons ainsi que l’idée de fixité au cœur de la problématique du stéréotype est un concept opératoire qui permet de lire autrement le récit sur le triple plan linguistique, thématico-narratif et idéologique. Les valeurs textuelles que ce concept permet de mettre en évidence portent à croire que notre corpus apparaît, dans une perspective sociocritique, comme une métaphore des sociétés africaines post-coloniales
