Ocena jakości życia pacjentów po przebytym zawale mięśnia sercowego
Introduction. Myocardial infarction is a major threat to the health and life of many Poles. Cardiovascular diseases in many cases lead to disability and often and death. A patient after a myocardial infarction should make several changes regarding its behavior, it also affects the quality of life.
Aim of study. The aim of the study is to assess the quality of life of patients after myocardial infarction.
Material and methods. The research was carried out in the Provincial Specialist hospital named Popieluszko in Wloclawek. The study involved 100 patients who had suffered myocardial infarction. The research was anonymous and voluntary. The research tool was sf-36 was used in the comparative study, and a survey belonging to the group consisting of 5 questions. In the first part of the survey, the first 5 questions concern sociodemographic data, while the second part is a questionnaire of quality-of-life assessment. The study was analyzed by statistical analysis by the t-test for independent and univariate ANOVA samples.
Results. In the aspect of physical functioning, the subjects could obtain from 0 to 45 points. Average score amounted to 15.70 points with a standard deviation of 12.188 points. In terms of Limitations with due to health, respondents could obtain from 0 to 20 points. The average result was 11.68 points standard deviation SD=7.339.
Conclusions. Gender, age, and education of the subjects after myocardial infarction did not differentiate the assessment quality of life, while the place of residence influenced the differentiation of the assessment of health by of the surveyed. Urban citizens rated their health condition lower than rural citizens. Emotional and physical state, patients rated worse than before the onset of myocardial infarction. There were numerous physical limitations, and emotional problems such as depression. The coexistence of diseases differentiated the assessment of the Physical functioning aspect. This aspect was assessed significantly lower by the subjects suffering from obesity, apart from the heart, than by those suffering from diabetes and hypertension.Wstęp. Zawał mięśnia sercowego, jest dużym zagrożeniem zdrowia i życia wielu Polaków. Choroby układu krążenia w wielu przypadkach doprowadzają do niepełnosprawności a często i śmierci.
Materiał i metody. Badania zostały przeprowadzone w Wojewódzkim Szpitalu Specjalistycznym im. Bł. Ks. Jerzego Popiełuszki we Włocławku. W badaniu udział wzięło 100 pacjentów po przebytym zawale mięśnia sercowego. Badania były anonimowe i dobrowolne. W pierwszej części ankiety, pierwsze 5 pytań dotyczy danych społeczno- demograficznych, natomiast druga część to kwestionariusz oceny jakości życia. Badania poddano analizie statystycznej testem t dla prób niezależnych i jednoczynnikowej ANOVA.
Wyniki. W aspekcie funkcjonowania fizycznego badani mogli uzyskać od 0 do 45 pkt. Średni wynik wyniósł 15,70 pkt. przy odchyleniu standardowym równym 12,188 pkt. W aspekcie ograniczenia z powodu zdrowia respondenci mogli uzyskać od 0 do 20 pkt. Wynik średni wyniósł 11,68 pkt przy odchyleniu standardowym SD=7,339.
Wnioski. Płeć, wiek oraz wykształcenie badanych po przebytym zawale serca nie różnicowała oceny jakości życia, natomiast miejsce zamieszkania wpływało na różnicowanie oceny stanu zdrowia przez badanych, niżej oceniali swój stan zdrowia mieszkańcy miasta niż wsi. Stan emocjonalny i fizyczny pacjenci oceniali gorzej niż sprzed wystąpienia zawału mięśnia sercowego.
The impact of economic and non-economic factors on the willingness to migrate of young people in the COVID-19 pandemic time
PURPOSE: The study aimed to determine the willingness to migrate of young people (students
of selected research centers from Poland and Portugal) and to identify the reasons and
directions for their departure.DESIGN/METHODOLOGY/APPROACH: Logical reasoning and a descriptive method were used to
prepare this article. Additionally, the logistic regression results were the basis for verifying
the research hypothesis, and multidimensional correspondence analysis helped with the
graphical presentation of the results.FINDINGS: The analyses confirmed the hypothesis that, regardless of the country of origin, the
leading cause of migration of young people are economic factors, including high earnings
abroad and the intention to improve working conditions. In addition, the study results
confirmed the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the willingness to migrate of
young people. The disincentives were fear of falling ill and forced isolation from relatives and
friends in case of a lockdown.PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS: The study allowed us to determine how the willingness to migrate of
young people has changed over time, especially in the time of the global crisis related to the
COVID-19 pandemic.ORIGINALITY/VALUE: Application of correspondence analysis to migration research to illustrate
the influence of economic and social factors on the willingness of youth to migrate.peer-reviewe

Family - Health - Disease
Praca recenzowana / Peer-reviewed paperThis publication includes opinion and research papers written by authors
with academic backgrounds from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland.
The monograph consists of 14 chapters and the order of them refers to the relationship
between the family and the health of its members. The first seven texts
concern children’s health problems. The next two concern widely defined issues
of nutrition and adult nursing. The next four discuss health issues of the elderly,
while the last describes the dilemma of bereaved family members who have to
decide about organ donation.
The individual chapters show different aspects of family participation in the
treatment and care of children, the elderly, the chronically ill, and the disabled.
The discussed topics are a part of the wider issue of social medicine. A very
important issue is the interdisciplinary problem of interaction between health
and illness and their influence on the family, which is on one hand embedded in
medical science, while on the other hand it refers to the social sciences, especially
family sociology, psychology, pedagogy, and also social policy to some extent.
The authors of the monograph also discuss the issue of life quality of the
elderly living in domestic environments and the health and social problems they
face. The authors also analyse the role of nurses in promoting health, such as
immunisation, rational nutrition, and ethical aspects such as the screening of
newborns.
This monograph is addressed to all who work or want to work with families
and support them in the difficult challenges posed by disease. The authors hope
the monograph will increase understanding and familiarity with the health problems
of relatives
Są to działania m.in. o charakterze wychowawczo-

Organotin compounds in surface sediments of the Southern Baltic coastal zone: a study on the main factors for their accumulation and degradation
Abstract Sediment samples were collected in the Gulf of
Gdańsk, and the Vistula and Szczecin Lagoons—all located
in the coastal zone of the Southern Baltic Sea—just after the
total ban on using harmful organotins in antifouling paints on
ships came into force, to assess their butyltin and phenyltin
contamination extent. Altogether, 26 sampling stations were
chosen to account for different potential exposure to organotin
pollution and environmental conditions: from shallow and
well-oxygenated waters, shipping routes and river mouths,
to deep and anoxic sites. Additionally, the organic carbon
content, pigment content, and grain size of all the sediment
samples were determined, and some parameters of the nearbottom
water (oxygen content, salinity, temperature) were
measured as well. Total concentrations of butyltin compounds
ranged between 2 and 182 ng Sn g−1 d.w., whereas phenyltins
were below the detection limit. Sediments from the Gulf of
Gdańsk and Vistula Lagoon were found moderately contaminated
with tributyltin, whereas those from the Szczecin
Lagoon were ranked as highly contaminated. Butyltin degradation
indices prove a recent tributyltin input into the sediments
adjacent to sites used for dumping for dredged harbor
materials and for anchorage in the Gulf of Gdańsk (where two
big international ports are located), and into those collected in
the Szczecin Lagoon. Essential factors affecting the degradation
and distribution of organotins, based on significant correlations
between butyltins and environmental variables, were
found in the study area

Economic migration as an outcome of globalization and integration processes affecting the competitiveness of regions
Economic migration of adolescents is of global nature. The openness and free flow of goods, services, and capital within the EU facilitate migration movements. A region’s competitiveness may be indicated by good health care within its limits (the lowest possible percentage of adolescents emigrating after graduating from nursing studies), especially in the ageing Polish population. A higher number of professionally-active nurses reduces the shortage of the mid-level staff at hospitals, which is of particular importance to the families with children and the elderly (grandparents). The primary objective of this study was to identify factors that encourage nursing graduates to leave the country, in order to eliminate them. In addition, factors encouraging nursing students to return from emigration were established as well, as this knowledge would facilitate the increase of the region’s competitiveness, especially in the health care sector. The manuscript presents the results of a survey conducted among 181 students of the nursing major at the University of Rzeszów, based on an original questionnaire. A logistic regression model was developed to verify the strength of correlations between the inclination to migrate and the prospect of a better job and of having a family in the destination country. In addition, a correspondence analysis was employed at the observational-empirical level to depict a relationship between, i. a., the inclination to migrate and the push factors. The valuable human potential of nurses can be kept in the country through, primarily, increasing their salaries and improving their work conditions
