Third order nonlinear susceptibility of InN at near band-gap wavelengths

The authors report room-temperature measurements of the third order nonlinear susceptibility modulus ∫ (3) ∫ of thick (∼600 nm) InN layers. Transmission measurements provide a room-temperature value for the optical band gap of the samples slightly above 1500 nm. Third order nonlinear optical susceptibility has been measured using degenerate four wave mixing experiments at wavelengths near and above band gap. ∫ (3) ∫ values of (4.2-10) × 10-10 esu were measured at this wavelength range. The associated relaxation time of the generated population grating at 1500 nm was measured. The obtained value of 4.8 ps is consistent with a nonradiative recombination mechanism. © 2007 American Institute of Physics.Peer Reviewe

Розглянута структура фотоелектричної станції середньої потужності з можливістю передачі енергії в промислову мережу. Запропоновані рішення для спрощення схемотехніки перетворювальної частини сонячної станції, спрямовані на зниження її собівартості. Проведено експериментальні дослідження особливостей функціонування сонячної станції. Розглянуто можливі аварійні режими роботи сонячної станції та надано рекомендації щодо їх усунення. Проведено аналіз експериментальних досліджень і на їх основі запропоновано шляхи підвищення ККД станції.The structure of a small-scale photovoltaic station, which can be used on single structures, is considered. At the same time, it is desirable to have a backup the battery on accumulators for reliable power supply and to be connected to the industrial network. Thus, the structure of the photovoltaic station, which has the ability to accumulate energy in the battery on accumulators and transfer the remnants to the industrial network, using it as a reservoir of infinite capacity, is proposed. The influence on the production of electricity from the photovoltaic station is shown due to the unevenness of the illumination of the surface of the solar panels

Объектом исследования является: Система отчетности GRI ПАО "Сибур Холдинг" Цель работы – Обоснование составления отчета GRI (General reporting initiative) на предприятиях, реализующих корпоративную социальную ответственность. В результате исследования: предложены рекомендации по совершенствованию корпоративной социальной ответственности ПАО "Сибур Холдинг". Экономическая эффективность состоит в том, что совершенствование системы корпоративной социальной ответственности позволит повысить все показатели ПАО "Сибур Холдинг" и создать ему положительный имидж в отрасли.The object of research is: GRI reporting system of PJSC Sibur Holding Purpose of work - Justification of the compilation of the GRI report (General reporting initiative) at enterprises implementing corporate social responsibility. As a result of the study: recommendations are proposed for improving corporate social responsibility of Sibur Holding PJSC. Economic efficiency consists in the fact that improving the corporate social responsibility system will increase all the performance of Sibur Holding PJSC and create a positive image for it in the industry

FAS: introducing a service for avoiding faults in composite services

These partner services may become unavailable due to system and/or network faults, leading to an increased error rate for the composite service. In this paper, we propose an approach to prevent the occurrence of errors that result from the unavailability of partner services. We introduce an external Web service, FAS (Fault Avoidance Service), to which composite services can register at will. After registration, FAS periodically checks the partner links, detects unavailable partner services, and updates the composite service with available alternatives. Thus, in case of a partner service error, the composite service will have been updated before invoking the partner service. We provide mathematical analysis regarding the error rate and the ratio of false positives with respect to the monitoring frequency of FAS for different partner service availabilities. We also provide empirical results regarding these metrics based on several tests we performed using the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud

Strategische Anwendung von Nachhaltigkeitsindikatoren für die Siedlungsentwicklung im Stadt Umland Netzwerk

Konkurrierende Flächenansprüche führen zu Veränderungen in der Landnutzung. Besonders offenkundig werden diese Entwicklungen in Großstädten und ihrem Umland. Gewerbliche und industrielle Tätigkeiten und die Wohnungsnachfrage sind dabei genauso Treiber der Landnutzungsveränderungen wie die Landwirtschaft und die Anforderungen an Umwelt- und Naturschutz. Beeinflusst werden diese Treiber u. a. durch sektoren-spezifische Entwicklungstrends und rechtliche Regularien. Nicht selten stehen diese im Widerspruch zueinander und verstärken dadurch bestehende Landnutzungskonflikte. Zunehmende Zersiedlung, Verluste an bedeutsamen Natur- und Landschaftsräumen sowie die stetige Verkleinerung der landwirtschaftlichen Nutzfläche sind die wesentlichen Folgen. Um den genannten Entwicklungen entgegenzuwirken, ist die interkommunale Abstimmung im stadtregionalen Kontext von großer Bedeutung. Aus diesem Grund haben sich der Rhein-Erft-Kreis und seine 10 Kommunen, zwei Kommunen aus dem Rhein-Kreis Neuss und die Stadt Köln zum Stadt Umland Netzwerk (S.U.N.) zusammengeschlossen. Unter dem Leitbild „zusammenWACHSEN“ sollen neue Siedlungsqualitäten entstehen, die eine nachhaltige Entwicklung der Stadtregion ermöglichen und die Bedürfnisse der Landwirtschaft aufgreifen. Ein wichtiger Baustein für eine bessere Nachhaltigkeit der regionalen Entwicklung ist dabei das gegenseitige Verständnis der jeweiligen Interessen und Ansprüche an die Raumqualität. Mithilfe eines regional abgestimmten Indikatorensets, das diese Interessen abbildet, werden aktuelle Strukturen und Entwicklungen sowie Planungsentwürfe für die Stadt-Land-Region auf unterschiedlichen Skalenebenen im Hinblick auf eine nachhaltige Entwicklung bewertet
