Refinement of Techniques Metallographic Analysis of Highly Dispersed Structures

Flaws are regularly made while developing standards and technical specifications. They can come out as minor misprints, as an insufficient description of a technique. In spite the fact that the flaws are well known, it does not come to the stage of introducing changes to standards. In this paper shows that in the normative documents is necessary to clarify the requirements for metallurgical microscopes, which are used for analysis of finely-dispersed

Infinite families of 3-numerical semigroups with arithmetic-like links

    Let S = a, b,N be a numerical semigroup generated by a, b,N ∈ N with 1 < a < b < N and gcd(a, b,N) = 1. The conductor of S, denoted by c(S) or c(a, b,N), is the minimum element of S such that c(S) + m ∈ S for all m ∈ N ∪ {0}. Some arithmetic-like links between 3-numerical semigroups were remarked by V. Arnold. For instance he gave links of the form c(13,32,52)c(13,33,51)=c(9,43,45)c(9,42,46)=c(5,35,37)c(5,34,38)=2orc(4,20,73)c(4,19,74)=4\displaystyle\frac{c(13, 32, 52)}{c(13, 33, 51)} = \displaystyle\frac{c(9, 43, 45) }{c(9, 42, 46)} = \displaystyle\frac{c(5, 35, 37)}{c(5, 34, 38)} = 2 or \displaystyle\frac{c(4, 20, 73)}{c(4, 19, 74)} = 4. In this work several infinite families of 3-numerical semigroups with similar properties are given. These families have been found using a plane geometrical approach, known as L-shaped tile, that can be related to a 3-numerical semigroup. This tile defines a plane tessellation that gives information on the related semigroup.Peer Reviewe

    Get PDF

Energy-efficient satellite joint computation and communication

The emerging interest in satellite networks will be a key driver in the path to 6G. The satellite segment must be conceived beyond a mere relay system, where nodes can process data and offload the terrestrial segment. Besides, evidence suggests that energy consumption is among the most important factors for the design of future communication networks. For this motivation, we introduce Sat2C, an energy-efficient algorithm for satellite joint routing, radio resource allocation and task offloading for latency-constrained services. We develop a novel energy model that incorporates the power amplifier subsystem and changes the geometry of the problem. Regarding the routing task, we propose the SHIELD algorithm, based on the submodularity framework and which achieves Pareto-efficient routes. Besides, the RRM problem is formulated as a log-log convex program. The experimental results reveal that Sat2C has low computational complexity, provides routes with low variance in the mean distance and the transmission powers are optimal to ensure energy minimization

The symmetry between shoulders and the height of the two iliac crests is lost when suffering from scoliosis. This worsening of good posture has negative consequences for health, especially in the musculoskeletal system. The primary purpose of this study was to assess the impact of a physical activity program based on the combination of methods "Klapp" and "Stretching Global Active" on the standing posture in adults suffering from idiopathic scoliosis . The application of both methods individually do not get improvements in these parameters in adults, but in children there are changes. This is an experimental study on a subject was assigned to the intervention group and a control group subject. The subject of the intervention group performed a program of 20 sessions of 45 - 60 minutes working with these two methods of physical work. The subject of the control group continued their usual activities. Before and after the intervention, were the dependent variables measured primary and secondary respectively. The results revealed a small improvement in the symmetry of the shoulders (+0.2 cm.) in the intervention group but not in the symmetry of the height of the iliac crests. The control group presented no changes. Therefore, we can say that it is useful to use a combination of two physical methods to improve posture in adults suffering from idiopathic scoliosis

The Scope of Interrogatories in Washington

    Get PDF
It is the purpose of this article to discuss the scope of inquiry allowed by interrogatories propounded under the code in the State of Washington. In order to obtain a comprehensive understanding of this subject, it is necessary to discuss to a certain extent the use of the bill of discovery at common law and trace its development to the use of interrogatories today because the scope of inquiry today is much the same as it was under the old practice
