Bisphosphonates are recently acquiring increasing relevance in the treatment of several diseases.
In line with the increased use of these compounds, cases of mandibular osteonecrosis, and to a lesser extent, maxillary osteonecrosis, are being reported. This necrosis is difficult to treat in patients who usually have a previously limited quality of life.
A surgical performance carried out by oral and maxillofacial surgeons, stomatologists and odontologists might lead to bone exposure.
A treatment based on conservation and as harmless as possible seems to be the most advisable way of acting with these patients in order to minimize the incidence and treat the complications, once the lesions have been ascertained.
We report three cases treated in our service of osteonecrosis of the jaws after exodontics.
This side effect should be remembered before starting any surgical treatment in these patients

Mesh size and effort changes in multispecies fisheries in ICES Divisions Vlllc and IXa.
Different simulations varying trawl mesh size and effort changes
for several fishing units in ICES Divisions VIllc and IXa were
carried out. Landings included in the analysis represent most of
the catches in the southern area defined as the management unit
for hake, megrim; monkfish, horse mackerel, blue whiting and
mackerel. Three Nephrops stock s in Divisions Vlllc and IXa are
also included. These species are mainly exploited by Spanish and
Portuguese fleets, using various fishing gears to exploit
different fractions of the populations, and for this reason nine
fishing units were used in the analysis
Fisheries and Prestige. Review and update of studies on the effects of the Prestige oil spill
The Prestige oil tanker sank in November 2002 and leaked around 60 000 mt. of heavy oil (type M-100) into the
sea. Immediately after the accident, closed areas were established. Among the fleets affected by the closures were
four of the most important in ICES Division VIIIc and Sub-division IXa North (bottom trawl, pair trawl, purse seine
targeting sardine and hand line targeting mackerel) as they exploit considerable resources, some outside
biological safety limits. A fall in effort was observed in all of them, mainly in the first quarter and in sub-divisions
VIIIc West and IXa North, although it failed to lead to a very large reduction in the total annual effort of each of the
fleets, with the exception of hand line. Pair trawlers can make two types of fishing trip, but differences in specific
composition among the three years analysed were not found in either of them. In the case of trawl, five kinds of
fishing trips were identified, and changes were only found in the type that targets Norway lobster, hake, megrim
and monk (HMMN), with a fall in the presence of Norway lobster
Different simulations varying trawl mesh size and effort changes for several fishing

Proteasome Nuclear Import Mediated by Arc3 Can Influence Efficient DNA Damage Repair and Mitosis in Schizosaccharomyces Pombe
Proteasomes must efficiently remove their substrates throughout the cells in a timely manner as many of these proteins can be toxic. This study shows that proteasomes can do so efficiently because they are highly mobile. Furthermore this study uncovers that proteasome mobility requires functional Arc3, a subunit of the Arp2/3 complex
