Detecting Functional Requirements Inconsistencies within Multi-teams Projects Framed into a Model-based Web Methodology

    Get PDF
One of the most essential processes within the software project life cycle is the REP (Requirements Engineering Process) because it allows specifying the software product requirements. This specification should be as consistent as possible because it allows estimating in a suitable manner the effort required to obtain the final product. REP is complex in itself, but this complexity is greatly increased in big, distributed and heterogeneous projects with multiple analyst teams and high integration between functional modules. This paper presents an approach for the systematic conciliation of functional requirements in big projects dealing with a web model-based approach and how this approach may be implemented in the context of the NDT (Navigational Development Techniques): a web methodology. This paper also describes the empirical evaluation in the CALIPSOneo project by analyzing the improvements obtained with our approach.Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad TIN2013-46928-C3-3-RMinisterio de Economía y Competitividad TIN2015-71938-RED

A Rate Control Algorthm for Low-Delay H.264 Video Coding with Stored-B Pictures

    Get PDF
A rate control (RC) algorithm for H.264 video coding with stored-B (SB) pictures is proposed for low-delay applications. Different models for P and SB pictures are defined for a better QP and MAD estimation. Furthermore, a novel saw-tooth shaped model of target buffer level has also been introduced for a proper bit allocation in GOP structures with SB pictures. Our experimental results show that this proposal outperforms the reference software RC in terms of buffer occupancy and target bit rate adjustment at the expense of slight quality reduction.Publicad

Entity Identification Problem in Big and Open Data

    Get PDF
Big and Open Data provide great opportunities to businesses to enhance their competitive advantages if utilized properly. However, during past few years’ research in Big and Open Data process, we have encountered big challenge in entity identification reconciliation, when trying to establish accurate relationships between entities from different data sources. In this paper, we present our innovative Intelligent Reconciliation Platform and Virtual Graphs solution that addresses this issue. With this solution, we are able to efficiently extract Big and Open Data from heterogeneous source, and integrate them into a common analysable format. Further enhanced with the Virtual Graphs technology, entity identification reconciliation is processed dynamically to produce more accurate result at system runtime. Moreover, we believe that our technology can be applied to a wide diversity of entity identification problems in several domains, e.g., e- Health, cultural heritage, and company identities in financial world.Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación TIN2013-46928-C3-3-

An Extension of NDT to Model Entity Reconciliation Problems

    Get PDF
Within the development of software systems, the development of web applications may be one of the most widespread at present due to the great number of advantages they provide such as: multiplatform, speed of access or the not requiring extremely powerful hardware among others. The fact that so many web applications are being developed, makes grotesque the volume of information that it is generated daily. In the management of all this information, it appears the entity reconciliation problem, which is to identify objects referring to the same real-world entity. This paper proposes to give a solution to this problem through a web perspective. To this end, the NDT methodology has been taken as a reference and has been extended adding new activities, artefacts and documents to cover this problem.Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad TIN2013-46928-C3-3-RMinisterio de Economía y Competitividad TIN2016-76956-C3-2-RMinisterio de Economía y Competitividad TIN2015-71938-RED

Adaptive Multi-Pattern Fast Block-Matching Algorithm Based on Motion Classification Techniques

    Get PDF
Motion estimation is the most time-consuming subsystem in a video codec. Thus, more efficient methods of motion estimation should be investigated. Real video sequences usually exhibit a wide-range of motion content as well as different degrees of detail, which become particularly difficult to manage by typical block-matching algorithms. Recent developments in the area of motion estimation have focused on the adaptation to video contents. Adaptive thresholds and multi-pattern search algorithms have shown to achieve good performance when they success to adjust to motion characteristics. This paper proposes an adaptive algorithm, called MCS, that makes use of an especially tailored classifier that detects some motion cues and chooses the search pattern that best fits to them. Specifically, a hierarchical structure of binary linear classifiers is proposed. Our experimental results show that MCS notably reduces the computational cost with respect to an state-of-the-art method while maintaining the qualityPublicad

Infestación por Aedes aegypti, estratificación del riesgo y factores ambientales concomitantes. Yara, 2020-2022 (Original)

The Aedes aegypti is the vector of various viral diseases, including dengue, zika and chikungunya, causing endemic-epidemic cycles in the areas where it lives. The Yarense territory has a geographical location that places it in the middle of the two municipalities (Bayamo and Manzanillo) of the Granma province with the highest infestation rates. In the year 2022, the largest historical record of the problem has been obtained, while dengue cases (278) concomitant, corresponding to the increase in incidence rates in the country, disseminated by populations and the flow of transport from areas populated by the culicid In this context, the study aims to describe the characteristics of the infestation, identify the environmental risks that pre-existed in the infested areas, and stratify the entomoepidemiological risk. For which, an observational study is carried out, in the period 2020-2022. The universe covers the 6,781 dwellings of the urban cycle and the 6,510 of the rural that comprise the area under study, and the sample is made up of the 97 positive places for the mosquito. . The study allows to know the particularities of the problem, by facilitating the design of strategies to reduce the proliferation of the species, from the unveiling of its instinctive action and adaptability in the innate effort to perpetuate the species; as well as lowering the costs since the forces would be concentrated in eliminating the risks that mark the reproduction of the insect from its earliest phases.
