Early stimulation intends to offer a stimulating reinforcement through a range of educational and therapeutic iniciatives for children with special needs and their families. This paper presents an intervention in a unique case in order to maintain psychomotor and socio-affective skills, stimulate the adaptive response of a child with Lennox Syndrome. Also this intervention promotes his social inclusion and remove his environmental barriers. This is enabled by an early stimulation programme. Despite the challenges, the results has been successful, therefore, at the end of the intervention it is recommended to continue with the proposed program. However, there are other issues to be reinforced so is recommended to send the child to an additional service

This research analyzes the tourist profile, his attitude towards marketing, behavioral intentions and motives or reasons to consume film tourism. Using a sample of 484 interviews, the research proves the existence of a positive attitude towards the product and an interest in the promotional activities of the destinations through feature films. It also shows the existence of a number of reasons that should be known to adapt effectively to the needs of potential consumers and to increase their satisfaction.

Teachers’ perception of disruptive behaviour in the classrooms

    Get PDF

[ENG] This paper describes the establishment, as well as the organizational, functional and economical environment of a research centre; the “Biomedical Engineering Centre for the Integration of the Disabled People” (CIBID), which has been created thanks to the old relationship between the Polytechnic University of Cartagena and many Elderly and Disabled People Associations. As main goal, this centre incorporates into its structure not only all the university researches and disabled people associations needed… even the recourses for the commercialization and industrial making of medium series for an Associated Special Employment Centre that will employ at least to 15 disabled people in technical aids manufacturing

Feeding, Muscle and Packaging Effects on Meat Quality and Consumer Acceptability of Avileña-Negra Ibérica Beef

In order to achieve an attractive and differentiated product for the consumer and to optimize and to maximize profitability for the farmers within the EU Protected Geographical Indication "Carne de Ávila", 24 yearling males of Avileña-Negra Ibérica breed were used to evaluate the effect of 2 feeding systems, concentrate (CON) and maize silage (SIL), and 2 packaging systems, vacuum (VAC) and modified atmosphere (MAP), on fatty acid composition, proximate analysis, water holding capacity and consumer acceptability of meat in 2 muscles: Longissimus thoracis (LT) and Semitendinosus (ST). Animals fed with concentrate showed higher carcass weight. However, feeding did not affect the proximate analysis of the meat. The use of maize silage improved the amount of conjugated linoleic acid and n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) and the relation n-6 PUFA/n-3 PUFA. In LT muscle, feeding influenced texture, samples from SIL being more tender. The VAC packaging showed higher cooking losses than MAP in both muscles. Aging increased tenderness and cooking losses but decreased thawing losses. LT samples from SIL feeding were better accepted by consumers and VAC packaging showed higher scores than MAP. We can conclude that the use of maize silage could be an alternative feeding for this type of animals improving some aspects of the quality of the meat

Mesenchymal stem cells secretome : The cornerstone of cell-free regenerative medicine

    Get PDF
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are the most frequently used stem cells in clinical trials due to their easy isolation from various adult tissues, their ability of homing to injury sites and their potential to differentiate into multiple cell types. However, the realization that the beneficial effect of MSCs relies mainly on their paracrine action, rather than on their engraftment in the recipient tissue and subsequent differentiation, has opened the way to cell-free therapeutic strategies in regenerative medicine. All the soluble factors and vesicles secreted by MSCs are commonly known as secretome. MSCs secretome has a key role in cell-to-cell communication and has been proven to be an active mediator of immune-modulation and regeneration both in vitro and in vivo. Moreover, the use of secretome has key advantages over cell-based therapies, such as a lower immunogenicity and easy production, handling and storage. Importantly, MSCs can be modulated to alter their secretome composition to better suit specific therapeutic goals, thus, opening a large number of possibilities. Altogether these advantages now place MSCs secretome at the center of an important number of investigations in different clinical contexts, enabling rapid scientific progress in this field.Supported by Spanish Ministerio de Economía y competitividad, No. RTI2018-097324; Predoctoral program in Biomedicine from the University of Cantabria and the Instituto de Investigación Valdecilla (IDIVAL), No. PREVAL 19/02 and PREVAL 20/01
