Modelling and Terrestrial Laser Scanning Methodology (2009–2018) on Debris Cones in Temperate High Mountains

Producción CientíficaDebris cones are a very common landform in temperate high mountains. They are the most representative examples of the periglacial and nival processes. This work studies the dynamic behavior of two debris cones (Cone A and Cone B) in the Picos de Europa, in the north of the Iberian Peninsula. Their evolution was measured uninterruptedly throughout each August for 10 years (2009–2018) using the Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS) technique. The observations and calculations of the two debris cones were treated independently, but both showed the same behavior. Therefore, if these results are extrapolated to other debris cones in similar environments (temperate high mountain), they should show behavior similar to that of the two debris cones analyzed. Material falls onto the cones from the walls, and transfer of sediments follows linear trajectories according to the maximum slope. In order to understand the linear evolution of the two debris cones, profiles were created along the maximum slope lines of the Digital Elevation Model (DEM) of 2009, and these profile lines were extrapolated to the remaining years of measurement. In order to determine volumetric surface behavior in the DEMs, each year for the period 2009–2018 was compared. In addition, the statistical predictive value for position (Z) in year 2018 was calculated for the same planimetric position (X,Y) throughout the profiles of maximum slopes. To do so, the real field data from 2009–2017 were interpolated and used to form a sample of curves. These curves are interpreted as the realization of a functional random variable that can be predicted using statistical techniques. The predictive curve obtained was compared with the 2018 field data. Coherently manipulating flying qubits in a quantum wire with a magnetic impurity

e study the effect of a magnetic impurity with spin-half on a single propagating electron in a one-dimensional model system via the tight-binding approach. Due to the spin-dependent interaction, the scattering channel for the flying qubit is split, and its transmission spectrum is obtained. Plan de proyecto para la organización de una final de Copa del Rey de Rugby en Valladolid

En este Trabajo Fin de Grado titulado “Plan de proyecto para la organización de una final de Copa del Rey de Rugby en Valladolid” se elabora un plan de proyecto en base a herramientas de Dirección de Proyectos. Antes de comenzar con la parte técnica de planificación, se describe el contexto histórico de las últimas ediciones de finales de Copa del Rey y la situación actual del rugby en España. Se definen los conceptos generales de la Dirección de Proyectos para facilitar la comprensión de cada uno de los estándares y metodologías candidatos. Posteriormente, se analizan sus diferentes enfoques y herramientas con el fin último de comparar y seleccionar el estándar más apropiado para dicho evento deportivo. Tras el trabajo de análisis, se desarrolla el plan de proyecto en base a las herramientas proporcionadas por la 6ª edición de la guía PMBOK del Project Management Institute.In this bachelor’s degree thesis "Project plan for the organisation of a Rugby King's Cup final in Valladolid" a project plan is drawn up based on Project Management tools. First of all, the historical context of the last editions of the King's Cup finals and the current situation of rugby in Spain are described. This will be the base for the technical part of the planning. The general concepts of Project Management are defined to facilitate the understanding of each of the candidate standards and methodologies. After this, the different approaches and tools are analysed with the aim of comparing and selecting the most appropriate standard for this sporting event. La precarización de las condiciones de trabajo y sus consecuencias en la sanidad pública : el caso de los centros de salud de atención primaria del área de León = The precariousness of working conditions and their consequences in public health : the case of the primary health care centers in the Leon area

La precarización de las condiciones de trabajo es un tema de gran actualidad en todos los sectores profesionales desde que comenzó la crisis económica española en el año 2008. Uno de los que más ha sufrido este problema es el colectivo sanitario que desempeña su función en los Centros de Salud de Atención Primaria. Dentro del estado español, la provincia de León es una zona que precisaría fortalecer este sector, el cual se ve directamente afectado por la precarización de las condiciones de trabajo. Siendo uno de los servicios públicos más necesarios para la sociedad, ha estado en primera línea a la hora de sufrir recortes. En los Centros de Salud se ha reducido el personal, y la edad media de los profesionales es cada vez más avanzada. Trabajadores que han de cubrir zonas geográficas amplias, con un número elevado de pacientes por área. Una labor que ha de desarrollarse en un tiempo determinado y con unos recursos cada vez más limitados. Algunas de las actuaciones más urgentes serían reducir el estrés laboral, proporcionar sustituciones para los permisos y licencias del personal sanitario y ampliar los recursos materiales y personales. Todo ello con el fin de lograr unas condiciones de trabajo adecuadas para los profesionales, que se reflejarán directamente en la atención a los paciente

La interactividad revoluciona la ficción televisiva

Las plataformas de contenidos audiovisuales bajo demanda han revolucionado el mercado seriéfilo a nivel mundial, hasta el punto de haber cerrado 2018 con 160 series originales producidas para su visualización en distintas plataformas digitales, de ellas, casi la mitad estuvieron producidas por Netflix. La competencia imperante y la necesidad de ofrecer nuevos formatos y alternativas han potenciado que las narraciones de ficción se expandan entre las diversas plataformas de difusión y las propias audiencias, las cuales influyen directamente en el proceso de construcción y desarrollo de las mismas. Esta interacción entre medios y usuarios se da a todos los niveles de consumo, resultando especialmente interesante en el contexto de la ficción televisiva, ya que este tipo de producciones quedan subordinadas al papel activo de las audiencias, las cuales son capaces de influir en la construcción de la narración e incluso sugerir cambios en su evolución. Siguiendo la estela de la Rayuela de Cortázar, la ficción audiovisual comienza a alejarse de los cánones tradicionales para abrir las puertas a innumerables interpretaciones y análisis, permitiendo que la audiencia responda, cree y expanda las ficciones. Con objeto de estudiar cómo funciona la interactividad y transmedialidad en producciones audiovisuales recientes, a lo largo del presente capítulo vamos a analizar cinco series estrenadas durante 2018: tres infantiles de Netflix (El Gato con Botas: Atrapado en un cuento épico; Buddy Thunderstruck: La lista de quizá y Stretch Armstrong: The Breakout), la webserie española Inhibidos y Si Fueras Tú, la primera serie transmedia interactiva producida en España y emitida por la plataforma de RTVE Playz. A través del estudio analítico de las series mencionadas evidenciaremos cómo la construcción de este mapa de recursos interactivos alrededor de la ficción las posiciona como un producto narrativo de éxito atendiendo a los índices de audiencia tanto televisiva como social

Portal WEB para la gestión de laboratorios

Investigación TecnológicaPartiendo de una visión innovadora en la cual se pretende renovar el sistema actual que tiene la universidad Católica de Colombia sobre el control de los instrumentos de laboratorio, se presenta un prototipo de software donde todos los usuarios (en este caso Auxiliares de laboratorio), se puedan conectar y tener acceso a la base de datos tanto de los instrumentos como de los estudiantes, de esta forma gestionar el despacho de instrumentos a los estudiantes, así optimizando recursos y tiempo, además de dar un toque de vanguardia tecnológica a los laboratorios de ingeniería, con la implementación de software y lectores de código de barras. La propuesta de software a implementar, es un portal web donde los usuarios de laboratorio pueden ingresar por medio de un nombre de usuario y una contraseña, para realizar los despachos de instrumentos a los estudiantes, y con la ayuda de un lector de código de barras se obtiene el código del alumno como el de los instrumentos involucrados.PregradoIngeniero Electrónic

A boiler room in a 600-bed hospital complex: study, analysis, and implementation of energy efficiency improvements

Producción CientíficaThe aim of energy efficiency is to use less energy to provide the same service. In hospitals, energy efficiency offers a powerful and cost-effective tool to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, fuel consumption, and also running costs. Over a six-month period, the six gas-fired boilers that provide both a hospital’s heat and hot water were monitored. Analysis of the data obtained led to several actions being implemented in the hospital boiler room control system to improve the efficiency of the heat production system. Comparative studies were conducted, during similar weather periods, of the performance of the hospital’s hot water production system before and after the controls were implemented. Results indicate that the control actions applied proved to be effective. Finally; the paper offers a financial; primary energy saving and CO2 reduction analysis that points to a 3,434.00 €/week savings in natural gas consumption; and a cut in CO2 emissions of 20.3 tons/week; as compared to the reference facility

Automatic forest change detection through a bi-annual time series of satellite imagery: toward production of an integrated land cover map

Land cover mapping is fundamental for national and international agencies to monitor forest resources. However, monitoring forest disturbances by direct comparison of these maps poses several difficulties and challenges. As a result, different methodologies have been explored to detect forest disturbances. However, most of them cannot be fully integrated with land cover map production since they require additional input data, while others are not suitable for monitoring small land parcels. This study presents a methodology that fulfils the need to integrate land cover mapping with land cover change detection. Specifically, this methodology was designed to complement the Sentinel-2-based land cover mapping used in Galicia, northwest Spain, a region characterized by small land parceling. First, two previously obtained land cover maps from 2019 and 2020 were compared to identify all the pixels with potential land cover changes using QGIS. The behavior of spectral indexes in a time series were then analyzed to identify which of the previously identified pixels correspond to forest disturbances. This step was implemented in the software R. Using the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) to detect different land cover changes it was obtained an overall accuracy of 82%, considering the existence of varying phenologies, diverse topographic conditions, and areas with a high level of stand fragmentation. This study could help agencies that have already developed their own land cover maps to easily advance the integration of their maps with land cover change detection, since this technique can be applied with any land cover mapping methodology based on multitemporal analysis of satellite images, without the need for additional input data.Ministerio de Universidades | Ref.
