Influence of vulnerability factors in panic disorder severity
Background: We studied herein the predictive value for panic severity of three well-based vulnerability factors: personality traits (neuroticism and extraversion; NEO-PI-R), anxiety sensitivity (ASI), and perceived control (ACQ-R). Method: The sample was composed of 52 participants diagnosed with panic disorder, with or without agoraphobia, according to DSM-IV-TR criteria. Results: Our results revealed that the anxiety facet is a better predictor of panic severity than neuroticism. Anxiety sensitivity increases the predictive value for panic severity and, finally, perception of control of emotions is the only perception control subscale that increases the predictive value for panic severity more than the anxiety facet and anxiety sensitivity. Conclusions: This finding supports the assumption of the importance of taking into account the assessment of the lower order dimensions of the vulnerability factors in the field of psychopathology studies. Furthermore, the predictive value of perception of control of emotions indicates the importance of this specific vulnerability factor in the etiology of panic disorder (with or without agoraphobia) and, thus, shows the necessity to include emotion regulation strategies in the psychological treatments
Development Cooperation and Dependency: An Analysis of Brazilian-Spanish Cooperation in Latin America Between 2010 and 2018
Based on analysis of Brazilian-Spanish cooperation in Latin America, this article aims to contribute to the discussion on whether South-South Cooperation (SSC) represents an alternative model with specific and differentiated objectives, or if it largely reproduces the constraints and interests traditionally associated with the North-South model, but with new institutions and actors. We start by analysing the main criticisms levelled at cooperation in the literature, emphasising the identification, review and comparison of the mechanisms of domination and dependency that derive from the bilateral and multilateral practices of traditional development cooperation. We then construct a synthetic dependency index to measure the ability of Spain and Brazil - as representative cases of North-South Cooperation (NSC) and SSC with Latin America - to influence the foreign trade, investment and foreign policy decisions of aid recipients, and to empirically contrast the lower level of verticality that much of the available literature assumes about SSC schemes. The empirical analysis suggests significant differences between NSC and SSC in terms of their ability to reproduce dependency patterns and validate the discourse that tends to identify the latter as an alternative cooperation model
A Multiple System of Radio Sources at the Core of the L723 Multipolar Outflow
We present high angular resolution Very Large Array multi-epoch continuum
observations at 3.6 cm and 7 mm towards the core of the L723 multipolar outflow
revealing a multiple system of four radio sources suspected to be YSOs in a
region of only ~4 arcsecs (1200 AU) in extent. The 3.6 cm observations show
that the previously detected source VLA 2 contains a close (separation ~0.29
arcsecs or ~90 AU) radio binary, with components (A and B) along a position
angle of ~150 degrees. The northern component (VLA 2A) of this binary system is
also detected in the 7 mm observations, with a positive spectral index between
3.6 cm and 7 mm. In addition, the source VLA 2A is associated with extended
emission along a position angle of ~115 degrees, that we interpret as
outflowing shock-ionized gas that is exciting a system of HH objects with the
same position angle. A third, weak 3.6 cm source, VLA 2C, that is detected also
at 7 mm, is located ~0.7 arcsecs northeast of VLA 2A, and is possibly
associated with the water maser emission in the region. The 7 mm observations
reveal the presence of an additional source, VLA 2D, located ~3.5 arcsecs
southeast of VLA 2A, and with a 1.35 mm counterpart. All these radio continuum
sources have a positive spectral index, compatible with them being YSOs. We
also propose that the high velocity CO emission observed in the region could be
the superposition of multiple outflows (at least three independent bipolar
outflows) excited by the YSOs located at the core, instead of the previous

Large quantum nonlinear dynamic susceptibility of single-molecule magnets
The nonlinear dynamical response of Mn single-molecule magnets is
experimentally found to be very large, quite insensitive to the spin-lattice
coupling constant, and displaying peaks reversed with respect to classical
superparamagnets. It is shown that these features are caused by the strong
field dependence of the relaxation rate due to the detuning of energy levels
between which tunneling takes place. The nonlinear susceptibility technique,
previously overlooked, is thus proposed as a privileged probe to ascertain the
occurrence of quantum effects in mesoscopic magnetic systems.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figure
The L723 low mass star forming protostellar system: resolving a double core
We present 1.35 mm SMA observations around the low-mass Class 0 source IRAS
19156+1906, at the the center of the L723 dark cloud. We detected emission from
dust as well as emission from H2CO, DCN and CN, which arise from two cores, SMA
1 and SMA 2, separated by 2.9" (880 AU). SMA 2 is associated with VLA 2. SiO
5-4 emission is detected, possibly tracing a region of interaction between the
dense envelope and the outflow. We modeled the dust and the H2CO emission from
the two cores: they have similar physical properties but SMA 2 has a larger
p-H2CO abundance than SMA 1. The p-H2CO abundances found are compatible with
the value of the outer part of the circumstellar envelopes associated with
Class 0 sources. SMA 2 is likely more evolved than SMA 1. The kinematics of the
two sources show marginal evidence of infall and rotation motions. The mass
detected by the SMA observation, which trace scales of ~1000 AU, is only a
small fraction of the mass contained in the large scale molecular envelope,
which suggests that L723 is still in a very early phase of star formation.
Despite the apparent quiescent nature of the L723, fragmentation is occurring
at the center of the cloud at different scales. Thus, at 1000 AU the cloud has
fragmented in two cores, SMA 1 and SMA 2. At the same time, at least one of
these cores, SMA 2, has undergone additional fragmentation at scales of 150 AU,
