El trabajo migratorio de indocumentados en México

    Get PDF

    Get PDF
This text approaches the most general principles of the Scandinavian sociological realism, in particular the theory of the jurisdictional function and the interest of Alf Ross, who maintains objectivity and subjectivity as integral part of the judge activity, compare to the theoretical French thought of XIX century, maintaining the strict objectivity in the application of the law. From the theory of feelings of Agnes Heller, it is exploring the possible judge partiality while doing his/her jurisdictional function to try to satisfy their own necessities of security, permanence and independence in its positions. The jurisdictional function is a linguistic-psychological expression product of the own personality of the judge. If a judge does not has satisfied necessities of security and expression, then he/she will look for alternating forms to satisfy those necessities and their jurisdictional function could be seen affected, since he/she will move for interested reasons

Fossil seeds from the La Cantera Formation, Early Cretaceous, San Luis Province, Argentina

In a study of fossil seeds recovered from the La Cantera Formation, Early Cretaceous, San Luis Basin, we establish a new species, Carpolithus volantus, and describe other specimens attributed to Carpolithus spp. and Ephedra canterata. The botanical affinity of winged seeds assigned to Carpolithus volantus is discussed in relation to the fossil flora recovered from this formation. Based on the abundance of Gnetales in the San Luis Basin (pollen grains, reproductive and vegetative structures assigned to Ephedra), we propose that Carpolithus volantus is affiliated with Gnetales (Weltwitschia). We suggest that Carpolithus spp. seeds may be angiospermous, because this group, represented by leaves and flowers, dominates the fossil macroflora of the La Cantera Formation. Micro- and macrofloral analyses of the La Cantera Formation and an assessment of available dispersal vectors suggests that wind (anemochory) and water (hydrochory) may have been the most important dispersal strategies for these seeds. The abundance and small size of seeds recovered from the La Cantera Formation, together with their morphological characters, such as the presence of wings in Carpolithus volantus, also favour abiotic mechanisms of dispersal such as anemochory or hydrochory.Fil: Gomez, Maria Angelica. Immunobiology of Atherosclerosis: A Complex Net of Interactions

    Get PDF
Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of mortality worldwide, and atherosclerosis the principal factor underlying cardiovascular events. Atherosclerosis is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by endothelial dysfunction, intimal lipid deposition, smooth muscle cell proliferation, cell apoptosis and necrosis, and local and systemic inflammation, involving key contributions to from innate and adaptive immunity. The balance between proatherogenic inflammatory and atheroprotective anti-inflammatory responses is modulated by a complex network of interactions among vascular components and immune cells, including monocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, and T, B, and foam cells; these interactions modulate the further progression and stability of the atherosclerotic lesion. In this review, we take a global perspective on existing knowledge about the pathogenesis of immune responses in the atherosclerotic microenvironment and the interplay between the major innate and adaptive immune factors in atherosclerosis. Studies such as this are the basis for the development of new therapies against atherosclerosis. The authors’ research is supported by grants from the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII) (PI17/01395; CPII16/00022) and EuroCellNet COST Action CA15214 with co-funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), “A way to build Europe,” and the Miguel Servet Program. Parental Involvement between Two Different Urban Communities

    Get PDF
Parent involvement is an integral part of a child’s educational progress. In some cases, students’ academic achievement can be directly related to the level of parental involvement exhibited in schools. Families’ perception of roles toward parental involvement in schools may vary among groups from diverse cultures. In today’s urban schools, the increasing diversity of cultures may contribute to differences in levels of parental involvement. The purpose of this research is to address the need to promote parental participation in the educational process of their children. This study will focus on three research questions: Are there differences in levels of parental involvement after participating in a program designed to assist them with their children’s reading skills? Are there changes in the attitudes of families towards parental involvement after participating in the instructional cycle? Is there a relationship between the level of parental involvement and student academic achievement

Food prospects of selenium enriched-Lactobacillus acidophilus CRL 636 and Lactobacillus reuteri CRL 1101

Selenium, which is present as SeCys in selenoproteins, is involved in cancer prevention, thyroid functioning, and pathogen inhibition. Lactobacilli can biotransform inorganic Se into seleno-amino acids. Growth, Se accumulation and seleno-amino acid formation by Lactobacillus acidophilus CRL636 and L. reuteri CRL1101 in a Se-supplemented medium were studied. Moreover, survival of Se-enriched strains to different pH values and bile salts was analyzed. L. acidophilus CRL636 showed low growth rate in the presence of Se while differences were less evident for L. reuteri CRL1101, which displayed higher amounts of intracellular SeCys and SeMet than the CRL636 strain. Interestingly, both lactobacilli could produce Se-nanoparticles. Se-enriched lactobacilli showed lower growth rates than non-Se exposed cells. The adverse effect of bile salts and the ability to survive at pH 4.0 diminished for the Se-enriched L. reuteri strain. The studied lactobacilli could be used as Se-enriched probiotics or as a vehicle for manufacturing Se-containing fermented foods.Fil: Pescuma, Micaela. Stability and bioaccessibility of iron in pumpkin discs vacuum impregnated with ferrous gluconate, β-cyclodextrin and ascorbic acid

    Get PDF
Present work evaluates the content and bioaccessibility of iron in vacuum-cooked pumpkin discs (VCPD) impregnated with ferrous gluconate (FeGlu) solutions added with β-cyclodextrin (BCD) and/or ascorbic acid (AA). The stability of Fe2+, AA and color of the VCPD after refrigerated storage were also studied. Pumpkin discs treated with any of the FeGlu studied solutions reached a total iron content between 17 and 20 mg Fe2+/100 g. Addition of BCD or AA to FeGlu solution improved Fe2+ of VCPD compared to control fortified only with FeGlu. After in vitro digestion, soluble Fe2+ was also significantly higher in pumpkins impregnated with BCD and AA solutions. Both BCD and AA probably exert their positive effect favoring the solubility of iron and/or the stability of the ferrous iron form, being the bioaccessibility of Fe2+ approximately 17 and 20% w/w respectively, and 10% for the FeGlu-impregnated discs. Although BCD did not have the impact observed for AA, a synergistic effect was observed in BCD-FeGlu-AA systems, where the proportion of Fe2+ was approximately 50% higher than in FeGlu after 21 days of refrigerated storage. The use of BCD and AA also allowed to better maintain the color of the fortified pumpkin discs after cooking and refrigerated storage.Fil: Lencina, María Sabrina. Universidad Nacional de Entre Ríos.
